Had two nights at Kingtown Hotel. Bed and room very comfortable, hot water plentiful, fridge provided. TV only in Chinese. Wifi connection however was appalling. It rarely connected and if it did, the signal was very weak, at least on the 14th floor. Breakfast, buffet...More
I was on the 20th floor and had a great view of downtown Shanghai. The room was very clean and the best were comfortable. Very nice location with super market next-door. The breakfast was a nice mix of Chinese and western food. The elevators were...More

West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities.
While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
