Convenient hotel not too far from Jin An (about 20 mn walk, bus nearby but expect a lot of traffic in the morning), good front desk service. The hotel is a bit old but the room was okay and comfortable. It is a pity the carpet was not so clean. I had a good single bed, quite large in fact....

Nice location, good price within budget. Best thing about the hotel is its breakfast-- very nice spread and according to international taste. The hotel also has a moderately priced spa. The tau I drivers finds it difficult to locate, so please carry the address n name in Chinese as well.

Stayed there as part of a group of about a 100. Very helpful staff, especially the concierge when it came to ordering taxis. Breakfast was amazing, and the rooms were great. Do not use the laundry service if you can, it was efficient but very expensive!

We were here with a tour group. It was located in a busy part of the city, near a shopping mall and lots of restaurants. You are within walking distance of the river. The staff are gracious and helpful. The rooms are clean, but nothing special. The beds are hard box springs with no mattress. The restaurant downstairs where they...

We were a big group. Nobody did complain about rooms. Check in was easy and fast, as well as check out. Breakfast was abundant and plenty of options. Room clean and with a nice view. I will stay again with no hesitation.

the rooms are large and clean and offer all amenities you need. the noise level from outside though was too high due to traffic and construction work (like almost everywhere in China). To get to the main attractions of Shanghai, just take the taxi to Jing´An Temple and take the metro.

Due to my previous hotel closing for renovations I had to move and my office booked me into the Ambassador Hotel. To begin with the positives, this hotel has many floors, I was situated on the 21st floor which offered a very good view. The room, although an odd rectangular shape, had plenty of windows. The breakfast both mornings was...

We started using the Ambassador Hotel last year because it is near one of our key Shanghai based clients and because through them we could get a good Corporate rate. An already pretty low priced option for Shanghai became super affordable because of that. At my first visit I wasn't expecting much, but I have to say I was pleasantly...

Had a couple of nights here in November prior to cruising. Nice comfortable hotel. Easy to find. There is a building site next door but we couldn't hear it at all. No doubt in a year you'll have a different view from the one we had. Breakfast was a bit odd - lots of western style offerings (bacon, eggs etc.)...

This hotel had a very nice interior and decor and was lovely and clean. The breakfast was also very nice and had a large variety of foods and the rooms were great. The only problem i had with this hotel was that the wifi was only available in the lobby and not in the rooms. It is also quite far...

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
