Swissotel Shanghai is located in a great spot, just next the Jing'an Temple and Jing'an Park it is in the high end part of town. The service is definitely 5 star, with helpful concierge, beautiful rooms and the lounge bar on level 1 offering a hub for visitors to meet and have a drink/food. It is opposite a shopping mall...

The location of the swissotel grand in Shanghai is quite good, close to the famous Nanjing west road and the Jing An Temple. It's a central location near many office buildings, and it's got several shopping malls nearby. The condition of the hotel itself is not bad. What I don't like about it is 2 things. Firstly the beds are...

Stayed on 9th floor, with view of brick wall. Room was nice and spacious and had all the amenities needed. Only recently prohibited smoking in hotel so each time I entered the room I could smell lingering cigarette stench. Food was awesome. Staff friendly and helpful. Close to shops and restaurants also.

I can't understand the bad reviews from some people who said the stuff is not helpful. We had an appointment the next afternoon nearby and we didn't want to spend the time between the checkout and the appointment somewhere outside. We asked the stuff if it's ok to checkout at 13:00 instead the regular 12:00 and it was no problem....

I stay regularly at the Swissotel and am very happy with their services. It may not be the newest and not the most prestigious hotel around, but it has all what's needed when you come over for business. Things to highlight are their excellent breakfast selection and the concierge guys helping you to grab a taxi. They go the extra...

It is important to specify since the beginning that this feedback it only relate to the customer reception and not to all the other aspect of the hotel. To empower my feedback I am writing it after 5' of room possession and I will stay here for a week. Unfortunately yesterday my wallet with all credit cards and ATM's has...

Dear nprincip, Thank you very much for your feedback on your recent stay with us here at Swissôtel Grand Shanghai. Sorry to hear of the problem you experienced with the check-in services. Though we feel sympathy to the loss of your wallet, the empowered capability of our Front Office team member at that time was limited, and therefore they needed...

Hotel located in the nice area of Shanghai. Rooms are ok, though a bit old, same as lobby and restaurant. 0,33 glass of Chinese beer costs 8 euro, which is simply ridiculous. Food is average and plates look quite old. 1 hour massage is around 100 euro. I would recommend as a place to stay, but would not recommend to...

The hotel is just next to Jingan temple and the metro station with many services and restaurants walking distance. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. We had a problem with the door of the closet that did not close well so the closet´s light were on the whole night which was a bit disturbing for my sleep. A part from...

Nice and clean rooms, well equipped and organized. Quiet and private. Excellent breakfast, for all tastes. Pool and Spa not visited, gym is OK. Good position to visit the city, metro 3 min walking, near many high-end malls in Nanjing rd and good restaurants; 1 h walking distance from Bund. Excellent price for quality.

Hotel is in a great location for business. Staff were attentive and responded quickly to requests. Lobby decor of hotel is nice, but rooms are a little tired and need a bit of a freshen-up. Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
