We accidentially stumbled across this hotel on arriving in Malacca just after Christmas (2012) and got to see the new year in on Jonker street. We loved everything about this hotel. Staff were great, food was good, as were the rooms. Antique furnishings, tranquil gardens, hotel layout, all made us feel like we had just stepped into another wonderful world....

The communal areas are beautiful and a great setting to relax in, but our room was small and noisy (especially on Saturday night). The location is great and is very convenient. The room could have been cleaner (some of the surfaces were sticky), and I had to ask twice to get the room cleaned. I would probably stay somewhere else...

Staying in Hotel Puri is like staying at an old friend's estate that is past its prime, yet retains an unmistakeable charm that you won't find in more modern facilities. Hotel Puri is a old estate that has been somewhat updated and converted into a hotel. Very friendly staff and the building conveys a sense of how the rich used...

Transformed from a peranakan house into a hotel. This heritage hotel gives you a very good feeling the moment you stepped into it. Staff are helpful and responsive. Just a short stroll from Jonker Street night market. Lots of food and shops around to shop. eat and drink.

the hotel has expand since my last visit yrs ago. it still retains many of it's old charm, but the human factor is clearly missing. service is ok, but doesn't feel like it has that extra factor to shine. the hotel is located right where the popular night market(only on Fri to Sun), so you don't hv to bother about...

We stayed in Hotel Purl in early February 2013. It was a good experience! The staff were friendly from the doorman, the tour lass and reception. It lived up to the accolades I viewed in TA. Only around the corner from Jonker Street. Our stay over 4 nights took in a Sunday, so my wife was able to shop at the...

Arrived Friday midnight and stayed one night in Hotel Puri and one night at Baba House. The facade of Hotel Puri is very well maintained and breakfast had a better spread than other hotels in the area although seats were limited in the courtyard. Staff were helpful and knowledgable. Room was however much smaller than the one we had in...

I was introduced to the Hotel Puri by Malaysian friends from KL, and stayed a second time last weekend with my husband. It is a charming old building just off Jonkers Street, so a great location for exploring the old parts of the city on foot. Our experience with the staff was fantastic (I have seen reviews commenting otherwise). Breakfast...

My experience at the Hotel Puri: a very average room in an otherwise above-average hotel. Hotel Puri has a lot going for it: the hotel lobby is beautiful, the location is terrific, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Everything about this hotel would get a Very Good from me. But Superior Double we stayed in was average. There was...

We have stayed her a few times over the past 5 years. Obviously we love it as we keep going back. Lovely architecture, simple but comfortable rooms, and great location. Reception is friendly, they also found a place for car to be parked for free. Great food and Jonkers walk nearby.
