Hotel is a refurbished heritage terrace(s) with peranakan (straits chinese) influence in theme and architecture, so if your purpose to Malacca is to experience and understand the culture, these types of hotel would be appropriate, as it is in the prettier part of Malacca. The common areas of the hotel is lovely, with nice courtyard areas to lounge around. It...

I read many good reviews about this hotel so I booked even I thought it is bit pricy as a budget hotel and building itself is pretty famous and historical that used to be a rich family's house. Only option for us twin room. Honestly I am very disappointed about the room. No hot water, pillows were stinky like it's...

Without any hotel booking, I decided to try my luck to get a room at this highly recommended hotel on a Saturday afternoon. I managed to get a standard room at a great value. The hotel is beautifully decorated and preserving the old charm of Peranakan mansion. The room is basic but clean with comfortable bed. However, mine is a...

If you feel the old Malacca, I recommend this hotel alot. Downside is that you can here a lot of noise from next door if you get a connecting room. The breakfast is not special, but enough if you are not fussy. The location is perfect. Everything is in walking distance. The hotel staff is helpful as well.

This is a boutique hotel in the centre of Chinatown, renvoated from a traditional Chinese house. Beautiful and good value for money. It is like living in a museum, witnessing the old Chinese style way of living with numerous antique/paintings around, at the same time enjoying the comfort of modern luxury, air-conditioning, wifi etc. One interesting and unique thing about...

Beautiful historic property although we had a fairly uninspiring room. Saying that, the bathroom was new with a good shower. I found the reception staff helpful although perhaps a little surly....maybe a smile or two would help generate good feeling. Decent breakfast served in pretty courtyard. Decent location for walking around sights. Price was higher than our hotel in KL...

We stayed here for two days and had a great experience with the hotel. Rooms are pretty big and are clean. A visit to the spa is very recommendable, very relaxing and pretty cheap! Also the location is pretty good. Just a short walk to the stadthuys and just of Jonker street

Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful old hotel. Room was adequate, bathroom excellent, breakfast excellent in a lovely garden setting and the location is superb. On one day our room wasn't cleaned until mid afternoon which was a bit annoying, particularly because it was so early the previous day, but all in all can't complain.

Last minute decision to go to Melacca. Arrived in the main historic area - had a quick look in 2-3 hotels (one of which was highly rated!) and stumbled across the Puri Hotel. Woohoo! Great atmosphere. Great welcome by Liang the Ops Manager. The place just reeked of charm. Also great value. After a quick inspection of the room, it...

I stayed a whole week at Hotel Puri, it was an exquisite experience. It is such a lovingly restored old colonial Chinese mansion, feels like being transported back in time. All around it too is beautiful old heritage property, it really is living history. Conveniently located in Chinatown, handy yo everything- especially some great eating places.
