The location of this hostel is good and the staff are friendly but that's all this place has going for it. The place is not greatly clean and you can expect ants in the bathrooms...which are outside. Expect to be woken up early (sometime before 6am) during prayers from the nearby temple.

Fantastic little backpackers, great location. Great Staff. We where in the "overflow" building 100m down the road. Private room was clean and had a fan and window onto a small shared balcony where we could eat our breakfast. Bathrooms where acceptable. Free coffee/tea and hot/cold water. Good hostel atmosphere, fun in the evenings in the common area. Lee was a...

We arrived in Melaka around 11pm but had no problem locating Jalan-Jalan and checking in. We booked a private room and after check-in the staff walked us about 1 minute down the same street to a different property they owned but still under the Jalan-Jalan name. Our second story room was basic with a fan and a nice window that...

Great location in Chinatown, close to everything! Helpfull staff and good facilitys. Only thing that could get better is the price on laundry and the fact that you have to do it yourself. Pretty social hostel with neighboring restaurant-owners coming over after work.

We like the price, the location, the comfortable bathroom on the ground floor and the authenticity of the Melakan house. We find the noise made by the nearby religious buildings were too much and too early.. The mosquitoes were too aggressive. I would pay a bit more for better sleep.

Nice atmosphere, clean rooms at a great location. You can use a computer for surfing for free (30 min free plus 6 RM per hour), Wifi free, and a frienfly hotelier. I had a great stay here and would come again.

The hostel is nice with ok facilities. Everything was good until a girl in another room was having a job interview the one day. The owner got progressively angry was using the room when he could have just asked her to move. He kind of kills the mood around. I would stay here if the other hostels are full

The interior of the hostel is nice and the hostel is really clean. But what makes this place special are the people who work there and who stay there at the same time. Most of the people working there are backpackers who got stuck / wanted to get stuck in this amazing place. The owner is also one of the...

I just wanted to stay for 2 nights and then stayed mixh longer. This place has a nice social atmosphere, clean rooms and is in a great location. The weekend night market is just a couple of steps away, just as many restaurants (Chinese, malay, Indian, international) can be found a couple of steps away and the staff will point...
