Colin, the owner is very helpful and has good knowledge. He even dropped us off to the bus station when the taxi did not show. Colin and his family were great.

Cafe 1511 is extremely clean, quiet and comfortable. The proprietor, Colin, is very concerned with his guests' having a positive experience in the hotel, and he seems to put a lot of effort into keeping this place running well. I stayed in Melaka four years ago, at a different hotel, which was fine, but the stay was not particularly memorable....

Maybe not the cheapest rooms in chinatown, but it's worth it! staff is very helpfull, breakfast; you choose between western style and traditional Malay style. location is perfect in chinatown

The Place - the character of the place provides the impetus, the richness, that makes your trip to Melaka more memorable. To live in a shophouse owned by a 5th Generation Perenakan family makes every detail, every facet of the hostel genuine and honest. You will be awed by the nyonya details, the golden filigrees on the ceilings, the old...

We stayed here for one night and loved the place. Wish we could have stayed longer but while it's the nicest, it's not the cheapest in Melaka (around 80 Ringit). We were greeted and well looked after by Colin. We had the attic room which had a DVD player and a window! (A nice treat after KL). There are only...

I'm very sorry for the laundry. As the helper is a Burmese and she did not separate your color clothing. Once again sorry for the laundry.

Great service for a guest house. A very hospitable staff... special thanks to Mr. Colin. Our 'Otak' room is clean & neat when we arrived there. The bed sheets & towels smell pleasant. Provided with airconditioning & ceiling fan, using the fan alone is good enough for me & my husband because of considerable good natural air ventilation. I like...

Clean airconditioned rooms, with fan, and tons of DVD's. A lovely historic old building and great location within walking distance of many of the sites and to the night market on the weekends. Staff were really nice and helpful. Breakfast is included and the mee goreng is fantastic. Highly recommend!

We're just finishing up our stay here in Melaka. We found this guest house on this website and decided to reserve 2 nights ahead of time. The thing that cinched the deal? The "age limit" of 30 and over. We were not keen on staying in a typical "backpacker style" hostel, but didn't want to spend TOO much. The decor...
