We stayed in this cozy guesthouse for a while during our trip to Melaka. We enjoyed so much this place and all the facilities that they provide. Also the location is perfect, as you are almost in the middle of chinatown and at a short walking distance to the center. The views to the river from the balcony are amazing,...

Its duplex design. master bedroom on upper floor is spacious. has cozy balcony over looking Melaka River. Beautiful at nite with lights and boats passing by. The river is alive with many fishes. Fun to feed them with bread. Downstairs bedroom has 2 queen size beds. I think it fits 4 pax. Homestay Location is ideal. suitable only for young...

We really enjoyed our stay at River View Guest House, but some of that is just how much we enjoyed Melaka. The town is wonderfully charming with a great weekend night market, cool colonial architecture, a relaxing river walk, and hilarious light-up trishaws. We cannot recommend visiting this town enough if you are in peninsular Malaysia. Now to the guest...

Positive: On the river and close to the walking path, decently located on a quiet street but still walkable to major attractions, kind staff. Negative: Chipping paint and stains all over the walls, disorganized, kind but unhelpful and non-local staff (knowledge of area wasn't very good), cramped shower/toilet situation, and no complementary breakfast. Clearly, this place has already seen it’s...

located in an old-style Nyonya home, this is a great hostel for seeing Melaka's historical architecture. the hostel itself and the bathrooms were clean. However, the hostel is not very well-staffed. There is one housekeeper who only speaks Malay and the owners hire other backpackers to staff the front desk, so they aren't the most knowledgeable about the area. Also,...

It's a long one but please read..The Lonely Planet is out of date! I laugh when I read it's a top choice. This place might of been awarded by Trip Advisor but it was about 4 years ago, I'm convinced that they think because they won this award and that they are a top choice in the Lonely Planet they...

nice little place to stay, clean and modern, 4 beds in one dorm, not noisy, a locker, friendly staff, a kitchen, and on the river! Same owner as the Rooftop Guesthouse. Has a mini lounge area on the first floor as well.

I booked 2 nights but had to leave after one night because I felt so uncomfortable that I didn't sleep a single minute. The pillow smelled so bad and moldy that I couldn't use it at all. It was very loud from street noise as well because there is absolutely no isolation from Windows. Bathrooms were lowest quality, the sink...

We were quite lucky for getting the biggest room in the house. Good things about staying here: 1. Gives you an idea of how a Baba and Nyonya house is like and whats it like to stay in nostalgia 2. The Host was really kind and friendly, Andy was always giving tips and advise on where to go and eat....
