Hotel's Favourite
Visiting Ibis styles Calangute hotel last week during monsoon season & was indeed a great idea, right from the start the lobby was so fancy, colourful and I really liked the aesthetic vibe that I felt right from the entrance, needless to say the vibe carried on even up to the room & yes it’s a cozy one that had a really nice balcony and the bed felt so soft the catchy thing inside the room was the huge round mirror which I felt like taking it along with me. You can easly rent a car/bike on the travel desk placed at the entrance of the hotel. The car rental uncle was also very good and helpful. This was my third visit in GOA. The Reservation /Front desk staff was really helpful and (Young staff) full of energy and the service of all the staff was good will surely recommended by my friends which made our stay comfortable for first 3 days, thank you Ibis staff. The hotel is at great location with nice Swimming pool, hotel was beautiful I enjoyed the pool and the housekeeping, front desk staff and the service of the restaurant was absolutely great. The hotel staff helped us with the directions and spoke to us about the visit as well and what kind of food do we get here and gave us a lot of information which was amazing.

ibis Styles Goa Calangute Resort Calangute AVOID LIKE THE PLAQUE - ROOM GOT ROBBED BY HOUSE KEEPERS ibis Styles Goa Calangute Resort Calangute Avoid at all costs ibis Styles Goa Calangute Resort Calangute Bad ibis hotel - Had all my cigarettes and vodka stolen Ibis styles trip advisor review November 2023 The solemn facts & truths you MUST know b4 booking this poor standard ibis styles hotel, You can smell the sewerage while you're sat eating your food in the restaurant dining area - it's a rank and putrid hotel Note: REMEMBER Tui will send anyone anywhere for capital gain... FACT. Goa in General..... not clean & it's theme all toll is very repetitive no matter where you decide to stay or Rome - it's like one giant run down hell hole thats full of poor quality junk or trinket shops with added street beggars galore and street sellers selling the usual worthless stuff Goa is also Plagued by infectious mosquitoes too .... Our Hotel was the "IBIS STYLES" in calangute.... got off to a great start as we Had our cigarettes (benson & hedges) and almost a full bottle of Smirnoff "blue" vodka stolen from our room first few days we were there..... BE WARNED - TAKE HEED We reported it but it was basically ignored by the manager "AMANDEEP SINGH" who reckoned he watched all the cctv footage and searched all the hotel industrial bins for our stolen goods & all inside 10 mins of me reporting the theft ...( whatever ) for obvious reasons he tried to protect the hotel's reputation .... simple as that ... Read on it gets better ......... The hotel is trying to be something it's simply not ... it claims to be an up market upper class hotel but the only sign of upper class is the daylight robbery prices they charge for poor food and substandard drinks..... believe me it's just extortionate - - FACT We Even Struggled to get a knife at breakfast every morning and the manager confirmed there was a shortage of cutlery.... WOW! What a joke.... No tea spoons either..... so pack a knife and tea spoon if you dare to go .... Even the shisha pipes (aka hubbly bubbly) are expensive at £25 for the larger type n £9 for the little poor tester one The hotel is well off the beaten track and just plonked in a run down area of calangute ... The food at the ibis styles isn't very UK FRIENDLY at all, it primarily only caters for the overwhelming amount of other tourists guests that was there as it's mainly 99% Goan/indian based food mornings noon & night... this explains why there was no English tourists at the hotel other than us 4 there Among Our party of x4 we All suffered sickness, diarrhoea and constipation. Due to mosquito bites we had to take antibiotics for.... Hate to think what the mosquitoes feed on here before feeding on us, possibly things like the piles of massive cow pats, the dead rats and lizards we saw regularly in the streets ..... "Breakfast FRENZY" at the ibis ..... WOW! we have never seen/anything like it - it's like flee - market just trying to order a fried egg or a plain omelet - the other tourists guests were consistently so rude and inconsiderate towards UK tourist to, pushing and shoving past you as if you wasn't there......... was like we didn't exist ..... quite horrible eye opening experience throughout our stay at ibis .... another memorable experience we added to the long list of reasons why we will NEVER RETURN to the ibis or Goa in general ever again The other tourist had no etiquette, manners or politeness about them at all.... despicable Reminded me of a hotel we one stayed at in Tunisia ..... another place we would never return to .....tour operators should enlighten their customers when hotels are catered for one specific nationality ..... All the regular visitors to Goa that we have spoken to all said how much and how fast things have changed here in Goa, one main point being how much "EVERYTHING" has increased in price - a big spoil really as Goa was supposed to be an inexpensive tourist spot, NOT ANYMORE ! So be sure to take plenty of spending money... MAJOR FACT.... ibis styles STRICTLY caters for local tourists in my personal opinion n from a real time FIRST HAND experience having the displeasure of spending 2 unhappy weeks there with them all, trust in me I know a good from bad hotel after travelling globally for over 35 years ..... trust in my review here.... TAKE HEED & book elsewhere - thank me later..... The tourists we had the displeasure of mingling with in and out the hotel were mostly "VERY IGNORANT" humans, very arrogant & blatantly rude to us as we found out the hard for ourselves - THX TUI (not) Now the "IMPORTANT" nitty gritty on a more serious note .... Bar/drink Prices at ibis styles is mega expensive, and I mean ridiculously over the top prices, Here's a perfect example from another one of my own poor experience .... 1 round/two drinks, ie, a double shot of vodka & a gin cost me over £21 Gbp at the ibis styles bar ...... no wounded no one was ever at the bar, the same drinks at any other bar in calangute costs £ 4-5 ..... talk about a hotel financially abusing guests.... WOW! I refused to drink in the bar after discovering they had been Robbing us blind like I did...... I will never return to this overrated and overpriced hotel - FACT, nor will I ever recommend the ibis styles to ANYONE. read on..... The ibis pool is very small and the ambiance all toll is lifeless... the beds are not in abundance either and hard to get, we got told off for eating a snack and taking our own drink, being told it's not allowed by the pool attendant..... also was told to no wet shoes were allowed ... what a load of nonsense.... this was just the hotel forcing and pushing for food and drink sales, talk about desperate..... the rooms were in need of repairs and maintenance, toilet seat hanging off, all wallpaper pealing away the shower door didn't shut properly n flooded all the floor which was dangerous, the rooms have no space for your clothes or belongings..... it's terrible living out of a suitcase like we had to.... there wasn't even any bedside drawers.... DIABOLICAL...... Whatever you do and if you're daft enough to disregard or ignore me & my posts here .... don't set up a room tab.... you will get robbed, especially with all the taxes & service charges they automatically add on without any prior warning.... Take at least £4,000 GBP (min) if you intend to eat and drink at the ibis styles Me and my partner ordered a plain simple sandwich each which cost approximately £12 gbp before buying a daylight robbery drink... Excursions booked with tui at hotel are mega and I mean mega expensive...... 7x more expensive than the excursion shops in the street - JUST DONT BOOK WITH TUI.... excursions in Goa are terrible anyway .... we paid £20 for an excursion and tui rep wanted £139 on the princesa boat trip the food was disgusting/terrible and the drinks were all watered down, especially the tequila shots..... the transfer was 1 hour on a clapped out overcrowded bus with no air conditioning.... WARNING, AVOID THE PRINCESA river cruise AT ALL COSTS ..... talk about rough..... & again we were the only British tourist on board - didn't understand a word from any part of the show...was ostracised by 95% of the Indian tourists aboard... The waterfall excursion..... 4 hour round trip on coach, 1.5 hours on the jeep, breakfast stop off was diabolical, poor and 100% goan menu but cheap, food served for lunch was really bad, pure poor..... spice plantation was short but interesting but only geared for sales of their products - decide for yourself here.... beach truthhs.....Candolim - calangute - baga Nice beaches n warm sea but the beaches are littered with broken bottles, trash n disgaurded rubbish EVERY INCH for miles..... cows all over on beach leaving massive cow pats behind ... it's a shame n a massive spoil..... the odd little Goan local who cleans the rubbish up is literally fighting against the tide... In general and by most part Goa is a cultural shock to put it politely Prices of "everything" has increased dramatically and set to continue ..... example, I had a frozen lobster and was charged £40 gbp AVOID AT ALL COSTS

We had a wonderful stay at Ibis Calangute. Rooms are very nice. Hotel has two swimming pools and my son enjoyed a lot in Pools. They have small game zone for kids. Breakfast has wide choices. Hotel is very close to Calangute Beach. I would like to mention special thanks to Neha (front desk) and Rajesh (Restaurant) for their kind hospitality.

The resort is very family friendly. Location is peaceful and just at a 900 meters walk is the hustling bustling road filled with eateries, shops, rent car. The resort has 2 pools with 4 feet depth for 1 pool and with 4.2 feet for other.. Good for kids... The gymnasium is legit. The lobby is very spacious if you want to venture into watching guests come in and go Restaurant serves good food... Service is good too.. The property was sold out and staff was stretched managing on time room service for food and hygiene both.. The shortage of towels was one element which always is an issue in sold out properties... Having being sold out we as family did not feel the busy ignorance as the staff was good in numbers and courtesy, restaurant was huge, sitout space was good too.. The bar was cosy and hookahs were also offered... Kids kept the pool and lifeguard busy Overall this was our fifth stay in the same property and 9th in an Accor property... Accor has always been a favourite... Recommend to stay here... Just note like all IBIS properties, the rooms are not big.. Cost is also very pocket friendly
