Room: To be honest, this properly is ages old and desperately needs a complete renovation, especially the rooms. We were in Standard rooms, we even went on the first and second floor but, as I said, it's quite old so no matter which room you choose. As a matter of fact, the AC was leaking badly, it was concerning at one point. I would suggest people properly check before booking OR inspect the room carefully before option one.
Staff: These guys are amazing, this is not a premium property, even though all the staff members are properly trained and follow the rules as told by higher management. All staff members are courteous, helpful and polite towards us. They also helped us with early check-in, and even attended to us when we reached the resort quite early in the morning. We are quite satisfied with the staff members.
Housekeeping/Room Service: We have used both room service as well as housekeeping and they were quite satisfying.
Parking: They have ample space for parking, both Two and Four wheelers. One thing that I like is that they have separate gates for normal walk-in and vehicle entrances, along with proper security at both gates.
Other Amenities: They have decent size pool, which was neat and clean. They have a pool clothing policy, so you have to pool clothes, OR you can rent from them also. They also have a poolside bar.
Verdict: In my personal opinion, you should visit the property, albeit they give you a decent room OR they renovate the property. Although when we visited last time, it's been leased to a new manager who has started doing a renovation. The location of this property is really good and checks all the points that we usually look for while booking a property.

Good Natural Ambiance, Average Room. A maintained Swimming Pool. Lot for trees which makes its ambiance peaceful and natural. Rooms were large but I rate them average because there was the smell of leakage in room. otherwise, I found rooms good.

Dropped by this resort with my better half on 2nd Feb 2023, and it was nothing short of magical. Finding the place? Piece of cake! The folks here showered us with warmth and killer food, all on a comfy schedule and bundled in our room package (hello, breakfast + lunch). The stay was just lush, with staff like Tasha & Anuj at the restaurant turning it up a notch. If Calangute is on your radar, this is your place to nest for a fab Goa vacation.

Where do i start of with. The check in process took almost 2 hours to allocate a room. The room given is full of fungus and stains on the walls and it stinks. The bedsheets and towels stinks with big stains. The AC in the room is almost falling. No proper maintenance of the rooms and property . The worst part is house keeping is outsourced to third party company and they do room service only from 12- 5pm. I called them later in then night to change the bed sheets and the front desk denied changing the sheets as room service is not available. What kind of hotel would do such a thing.
Staff seemed very disinterested to serve the guests at this facility. The Breakfast and lunch buffet needs improvement and more variety . Just Basic food was served. The barbeque was very dry and chewy.
I felt like i wanted to go home instead of staying in this hotel.

I stayed at 'Joia Do Mar Resort, Calangute' with my family from 06 Oct - 09 Oct 2024. We booked at a very expensive price (via Agoda), but the experience was pathetic. Some specific feedback are as below.
- Rooms were not properly maintained; basic toiletries were missing; there was an odor; the flush did not work; the foot mat was missing; and termites were found in the cupboard.
- No hospitality from staff, completely insensitive to guests
- Breakfast: poor spread, most of the items were cold
I highly recommend NOT staying at the hotel.

Honestly, you need to think really hard if you want to find even one good thing about this resort. Basically there’s nothing great about this place – dirty rooms, substandard food, pathetic service and most of all extremely rude general manager Tarun. His attitude can be seen in everyone you come across top down be it kitchen staff or housekeeping. People here are not at all flexible and to your surprise they can go to any level to make you feel unwelcomed.
I have travelled over 20 years and visited hundreds of resorts but this can top the charts for years for being the most terrible place I have visited. Staff allowed other customers of the resort to pollute the swimming pool (when our kids were in the pool) by throwing cigarette butts in the pool. How insensitive these guys have become towards hospitality? You can keep calling room service for hours without any attention. Housekeeping is another major issue.
In nutshell, please avoid visiting this place.

location of the property is good. However, it is poorly maintained with several menace faced by us. Starting with allotment of 2 rooms on different floors wherein booking was done together. one room did not had refrigerator and another room had issues with ac working and also had turmide affected on the bed. Eventually after two days of poor stay experience, hotel moved us to another two rooms which were OK OK but definitely a bad experience to carry as memory with this hotel. Swimming pool is also in shaby condition. Do not stay in this property although it's MMT certified.
