Imagine - a shady kind of place with the reception being manned by a person in shorts and vests, a cigarette in one hand and beer on the counter - baddie straight out of 70's movie? That's Rahul for you - the manager! The only plus point for this property is proximity to the beach and nothing else. We were 7 people of a family and while we had reserved for the dormitory just a day before this guy had said it wasn't an issue, he started creating scene as we reached there. First he said that since we are family and have women in the group, we can't stay in dorms and will have to invariably take the rooms at additional cost. While we were negotiating on the cost and in fact paid some amount (2000 INR) stating that we need some time for lunch and to decide, this guy decided to get our lugguage in the room. On return from Lunch, we had decided not to stay at the property at all (Oh yes, we did noticed bugs running everywhere). And this was the time when he will show his true colours. He said that we have occupied the rooms and hence he would not give back the 2000 Rupees (forget about the amount we paid as booked in advance) and started using filthy language in front of ladies. Ultimately we decided to consider the money donated to a begger and walked out.…
Woodstock bamboo cottage is very basic cottage stay. Not clean but stay was peaceful. Few rooms have attached toilets and whereas few have common toilets. The place also has running restaurants. We didn't have meal. Overall ok Stay
From the name it self it is clear that it is very basic and village feel kind of place then too they have all basic necessities are covered. Very near to the benaulim beach. This property make you feel like you are camping on beach side also they ahve good restaurant and staff is friendly.
If you want a really basic place to chill out, this is it. I had 4 night's here and actually quite enjoyed it. I had a basic hut which had a fan, bed, mosquito net, side table and stand to put things on. Bed was a bit hard due to a thin mattress. Bonus was I could get WiFi in my hut. Bathroom was a shared one a few metres away. Be aware while the signs say hot water available, there is no hot water at all. It has a resturant bar area and the food was quite nice. Can't really call it a bar though, as it doesn't have much stock. You can get a cold beer. It's so chilled out even the staff are a bit to relaxed. You tend to have to find someone to get service but if your relaxing it not too big of a problem. Location is good, only a couple of minute's to the beach where there's plenty to do, resturant's, bars to choose from. You can walk to Benaulim township easily too. Overall if you want a place to have some nice food, a cold beer and to chill out in a peaceful place then this is good. Ohhhh yeah Bring Mosquito Repellant.…
Situated right off Benaulim beach, Woodstock is the perfect setting for anyone looking for a no frills yet boutique esque feel. The have a few different types of accommodation, ranging from shared dorms to private cottages. We got a cottage which came with an exclusive bathroom although it was outside the cottage. My understanding is that people staying in the dorms have to share a bathroom. The cottage was quite large and had 2 king size beds with basic firm mattresses. Don't go in here expecting plush hotel beds. It also came to a few basic amenities, lights, a fan and a dresser. There was a cooler although we didn't need to use it so I have no idea if it worked. The room was clean and so was the bathroom which was a big plus. The property itself is thoughtfully planned and laid out and brings forth the vibrant yet relaxing atmosphere of the whole place. Nick at the reception and Rahul working at the kitchen were both super friendly and helpful as was the rest of the staff. They only have hot water for limited so that is something to keep in mind for people for who it might be an issue. For the price this place is an absolute steal especially considering its prime location steps away from beautiful benaulim beach.…
Very good location, near beach, very friendly staff. But honestly, it wasn't a good stay there. No hot water, frog and cockroaches inside bedroom, no daily cleaning. It's very hard to suggest anyone for stay there. But I think for 2-3 days it will not a bad idea. It is like we staying in forest with minimum facilities.
We stayed one night at Woodstock as we toured through Goa. I found the accommodation really good... I loved the huts! 4 give it 4/5 stars as I only stayed a single night and we had a powercut! Decent wifi and comfortable seating area. We arrived very early in the season but I am sure this place is buzzing mid season. Nick was very welcoming and helped us book a taxi for 4am in the morning! He got us and was available as we left. Another member of staff found my friends purse and returned it to us before she'd noticed it was missing! So can't fault the staff. Location is perfect for the beach and Nick knows the area well and can guide you for good and drink! So overall decent experience and would recommend for a short stay.
BEWARE OF ANDRES LISTA, AN ARGENTENIAN NATIONAL, who is a absolute scamster and all out to cheat hoteliers. He will book a room in your hotel with another female, also Aregentenian, for just one day and the make allegations that his bags are missing. He will demand huge compensation, refund of room tariff, though he has totally enjoyed his stay, he will try and extort money from the innocent hotelier. He tried this with us, but did not succeed, as we stood firm. He threatened us with bad reviews, and that he would malign our good image if we did not cough up his monetary demand, and yet we stood firm and told him to go right ahead. I sincerely advise my fellow hoteliers to think twice before accommodating him in your esteemed organisations.
We stay here at Woodstock from 25. february to 29.february. It was a great place and Nick and Lloyd there was the owners of the place was always kind and nice. As we said to Nick, "We be back again next time we goes to Goa :-) Best regards Michael and Heine From Denmark
Me and my wife enjoyed our stay at woodstock. It is much better than all the other guest houses in Benaulium because this is the closest to the beach. The proprietor Nick is a blessing in many ways.He knows the right places to eat and the right places to roam. It is close to the fishing boats too.Great Place.Would go there again.
