Incredible value, bedrooms are large and clean with a balcony and good size bathroom with a/c,no frills accommodation.
Swimming pool is spotless 👍. Maxy and Luziton were very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to ensure that we had a truly relaxing time.
Property was 10 minute walk from beach and 15 minutes walk to Benaulim so a great location. Benaulim beach is busy but lots of shacks all offering use of sunbeds and umbrellas and a dip in the pool after the beach was great.
We will definitely return.

HEAVEN GOA in Benaulim, Goa, India.

I stayed here for 2 weeks over Christmas. My fiance and I saw the sign when in Benaulim and went to check it out. It's beautiful!

It's run by a Swiss/Indian couple who are lovely and really helpful. I think there are about 8 rooms so it's quite small. The guesthouse is spotless and each room is perfect. There is pretty wooden furniture and an area for all your clothes. Each room has an outside balcony area with wicker chairs. At the moment only breakfast is served but they are expanding. The breakfast is delicious though, it's $1 and you get all you can eat fresh white and brown bread, cereal, fresh fruit, tea/coffee and eggs if you ask for them. There is a great outdoor sitting area with a nice garden and grassy area.

It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach. Rooms are 600 Indian Rupees (about $14US) and less if you stay longer. There are massages there also. It's in a nice location as you can walk to Colva (bigger than Benaulim) in about 25 minutes), the beach in 10 mins and downtown in 10 mins. It's very relaxing here. We saw familes there, locals and singles and everyone seemed to be really happy with everything. I highly recommend it as a nice budget option that is worth more than the price!

As both longstaying and repeated guest through many years, I feel obliged to tell that Heaven Goa is a real pearl. It is easy to regard this friendly, quiet and pleasant guesthouse as your "home away from home", which is what many of us regulars do. Sadly enough our dear host, Sunil, died this season. We all took, and take, part in deep grief. His wife Karin is thankfully continuing their work, together with Sunil´s son, Diljith. There are so much to emphasize in addition to the site itself; fx the magnificent birdlife, the laid-back life of cats, dogs and pigs, the friendly village, the short and quiet road to the beach. In short; it´s top!

First a cautionary tale! We booked two weeks with Karin via email and arrived in Goa from Mumbai on a (surprisingly wet!) March afternoon. We picked up a pre-paid taxi (Rs. 600) from Goa's airport and headed for Benaulim. It was obvious that the taxi driver had no idea where to go and had to stop for directions a number of times. He eventually called the guest house (three times!) and eventually we arrived ad a grotty guest house buried in the middle of nowhere. It was nothing like the photos on the website, but we figured we'd just picked a bum guest house. So we agreed to find somewhere else the next day. After dinner though we could not find our way back in the dark and when we asked people, they told us that the street where Heaven Goa was listed was around 3km away. Eventually we believed them and arrived at the right guest house! Our taxi driver had taken us to the wrong guest house!

Thankfully Heaven Goa really is a fantastic place to stay. We paid only Rs. 400 per night plus Rs. 150 for breakfast for two people. The breakfast is a choice of eggs, cereal, fruit and bread with tea/coffee. Prices rise in high season and fall off from April.

Despite what's advertised on the website and listed in the Rough Guide, there are no massages at the moment (seems like some kind of run in with the authorities - probably not enough bribes!) Anyway, there are plenty of places locally to get a massage if that's your thing. Heaven Goa plans new massage rooms as soon as it gets planning permission for some new rooms on the site. As for the pizza that's mentioned in the Rough Guide: next year 'perhaps'. Other niggles are the lack of any hot water (solar heating planned to be installed this year) and fairly hard beds (an Indian speciality I feel). That said, at the end of a hot day, a shower in water that is tepid and not cold is actually just what you want.

Those small things aside, what you get for very little money indeed is a spotlessly clean room with plenty of space for hanging clothes, a large clean bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower and a bed with a good mosquito net. All rooms have a balcony or verandah that overlooks a paddy field and the coast beyond. Benaulim village is a 10 minute walk away, as is the beach. An auto rickshaw over that distance is Rs. 10-50 depending upon how good you are at haggling and how much you feel you need to pay tuk tuk drivers on dreadfully low pay. The beach nearest Heaven Goa is exceptionally quiet (at least in March) and stunningly pretty.

Karin and Sunil, who run the guest house, are very friendly and we were able to arrange everything beforehand by email. Whilst we were staying a number of people arrived to see whether rooms were available and it seemed like it was a bit of a 50/50 shot in March, so I figure that in peak season, pre-booking will be a must.

All in all, the small niggles of not having some of the additional features that are touted in the Rough Guide and cold showers are for me at least, inconsequential and I would happily go back to Heaven Goa.

The best guesthouse of our 2 week trip to Goa. Although we only found Benaulim and Heaven Goa in the second week both completely made our holiday. We stayed in the older of the 2 buildings initially in a non-aircon room. We did move to an aircon room after a few days so if you suffer with the heat do consider this as an option. The balcony overlooks a pond and paddy field where we spend countless hours watching the local wildlife coming and going with a sunset backdrop. The rooms are basic but charming and spotlessly clean, with bedside lamps, clothes storage and new mosquito nets. The bathrooms are also basic but clean. There is a beautiful, clean pool and staff will put out sun beds for guests to use. There is an attractive covered seating area by the pool where you can get morning coffee and breakfast. We were there before the start of the season and the guesthouse was being refurbished and restaurant facilities were being built. Free wifi is available although we did struggle to get it in our room. Prabodh and the staff are incredibly welcoming, helpful and accommodating - they booked taxis and offered to arrange delivery of meals if we so wanted. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away, but the location of the guesthouse is wonderfully quiet. There are some lovely and very friendly dogs at Heaven Goa who have the roam of the property. Our stay wasn't long enough and we will be booking again when we come back to Benaulim. We can't recommend this guest house highly enough!

Wonderful place to stay near Benaulim, a really cleverly positioned property, close enough to the main thoroughfare in Benaulim to walk, far enough away to feel like a sanctuary, which is what it is. On a short track off a quiet beach road, surrounded by palm trees, overlooking a lily pond with bird life and noises of the forest all around. The swimming pool is a very big plus, when the beach was too hot to come back and dip into the cool pool, followed by a cool beer was perfect. The rooms have a western feel, spotlessly clean, plenty of room for two people, sit out areas, some with AC, but in January we didn't really need it. The hosts are lovely, Sunil's massages the best ayurvedic massages we had in India, the yoga (even for a yoga cynic)very high quality. There was a litter of gorgeous puppies (I suspect now in new homes) and many cats, great if you like animals, but also didn't bother you unless you fancied a cuddle. This place is really safe, 10 minute walk to the beach, great breakfast and evening food on request. Honesty bar (with wine!). What's not to like. We came home feeling amazing.

Lovely Place. We stayed here 8 days and didn't want to leave. Karin and Sunil are just wonderful people. Food was really good. They have lot of pets there and have given a home to lot of stray animals which I think is fantastic.

Sunil was not in Goa for most of our trip and Karin was managing the whole place with great finesse. She is just amazing and also arranged a fantastic buffet on Christmas eve.

A very nice place to relax. Quiet and peaceful. And a 10 minute walk from a beautiful beach.

Highly recommended!

I am definitely coming back here!

We wanted a quiet romantic getaway in South Goa. Heaven Goa had such great reviews we chose it. We arrived from the train at 3am in the rain. Sunil, one-half of the husband & wife duo that own and run this charming guesthouse, greeted us immediately ushering us to our room. When I got in the shower, tired and sweaty from the train ride, I knew I truly was in heaven when the water coming out of the shower head was hot! The mattress was even soft (for Indian standards). The next morning we met Karen, the other half, who greeted us and tended to our coffee and breakfast needs. Suma, the housekeeper and cook, served us wonderful coffee, fresh fruit and eggs. They have pets who will also eat with you, so anyone who isn't a pet person may be surprised...but anyone else who has traveled India knows this is common practice. That was even heaven for me to be around such well cared for healthy animals while in India. Sunil and Karen attended to our every need while staying at Heaven Goa. They arranged a scooter rental for us, which was a cheap and easy way to explore the surrounding beaches and towns - Colva became one of our favorites. Karen gave us a map on our 2nd day and told us to check out a Spice Farm, and this ended up being one a trip highlight. Heaven Goa is a serene guesthouse that fit our need for relaxation perfectly. We can't wait to go back.

We traveled through India for a period of four weeks, and this was by far the best guesthouse we stayed in! Karin and Sunil were very friendly and glad to help out whenever we needed anything. Don’t miss Sunil’s excellent Ayurveda-massage! Also, the location is just perfect – the guesthouse is a 7-10 minute walk from the beach and a 15 minute walk to the city, where you can catch the bus or do some basic shopping. It is perfect for all those who come to Goa for relaxing, going to the beach and enjoying a few very calm days and is far away from noisy parties. If we manage to come back to Goa, there is no other place where we want to stay.

Sunil and Karen were absolutely brilliant. They both made me feel completely at home and Sunil cooks a mean mean dinner!!- Tiger Prawns? (no problem), Kingfisher? (no problem), baby shark? (no problem). The food is cheaper than most restaurants and the rooms were incredibly clean, had hot water and extremely efficient mosquito nets.

The location is also great, its only a 5 minute walk from a beautiful white beach and you can rent a moped and check the surrounding areas easily!

Certainly a place to relax and unwind from the craziness of India!
