Such a cool place with great facilities inside and out, lovely garden, bar and hangout places. Such a cool team that work there who were all very welcoming and kind. Looked after us very well during such difficult times surrounding the coronavirus. All nice and clean, we will all miss everyone and hope to come back soon! #quarantineteam

This place is absolutely perfect if you are looking a place to stay in Anjuna, Goa. This hostel has it all! Vibrant bar, safe, comfortable rooms, well managed and even has a couple of beautiful dogs. The location is perfect, walking distance to other bars, the beach and Starco Junction in a stone throw away. I travel India a lot, but this hostel is my favourite. Would I recommend? 💯 yes!!!! You won’t regret your time at Red Door! You will create beautiful memories. I dare you! Neil x

The hostel staff were all amazing, especially Jess Tashi and Alex who made us feel like we had known them for years immediately upon arrival. They were more than happy to show us around and made awesome suggestions for restaurants in the area. Red door hostel is an awesome choice for young travellers looking to meet people and make memories. 10/10 highly reccomend. Make sure to browse their awesome cocktail menu and try their pizzas which are cooked at the bar!

Regarding the Red Door policies, if the Indian customer walks in as a guest, it is mandatory or he has a passport for check-in, hotel reject your CHECK IN. If Aadhar / DL / OR SOME INDIA is GOVI ID. There it is not acceptable. 1 my frd for booked me And his brother he is from Alegria 2 his booked or us for x names of two people for his brother or me 3 The owner said that they will not allow check-in for me as I do not have a passport, but I have an IND ID proof base, but they told that if they allow a normal Indian ID proof like online hotel booking site without passport They give me permission for it but we need to pay extra money i Saw the India of Indian Apartheid for the first time The sad thing is that they are doing Indian people

Response from RedDoorHostels, Manager at Red Door Hostel
Responded 12 Jan 2020
Hello Thanks for taking out time to write a review. Yes, we require passport from all nationalities to check in at the hostel and its clearly mention on all the booking sites. Regarding the issue you mentioned, we did ask you to present the passport but we NEVER charged you extra for any or asked you for extra money. Its not nice that you spread lies and waste your and our time doing so. Thanks

Walked in without a booking and staff were great and helpful. Originally booked for 2 nights, ended up staying 5. Rooms are clean and good music is playing outside, so a great place to chill and meet new people. On the corner of Anjuna junction, so easy to get a local bus or taxi, and 10 minutes walk to Anjuna Beach

Stayed here for 2 and a half weeks. Great location within walking distance of the beach side road. Owners were amazing and really friendly. There is a bar down the garden that serves pizza and cheap drinks that was busy at night. Rooms were pretty quiet so you didn't hear people being loud outside in the small hours. Met loads of great people here and can't wait to head back!

Our group of 6 was very excited to stay in Goa and the pictures of this place looked wonderful. We got there and it was like the pictures had been stripped and it was at its bare minimum. The owners were away for family business and the regular staff just felt annoyed by our presence. They were barely knowledgeable of restaurants, bars/clubs or traveling in and out of the area. A normal things for hostels is to allow guests to leave their baggage after they check out (because of late flights/buses etc.) til at least 5pm but they would not allow us, citing that many people were checking in during the clear low season when even they're well advertised bar was closed, and only by the kindness of a guest we met, whose room was half empty, did we have a place to store our bags til the 5 pm bus. I would suggest to go only during the very high season which we seemed to have missed by a week and when the owners are there. The local workers do not enjoy the foreign guests. Also, Repeatedly every common bathroom (male and female... desperate times) never had toilet paper throughout the day. There are multiple stalls in each and an upstairs and downstairs and I could never find a place to wipe my ass. There's at least 2 people constantly cleaning so I don't understand how this was overlooked.

Good and helpful people are running the place. Giving an example, I've left my 4G network remote device while staying there in early December. They've kindly kept it and returned to my friend 3 months after. And this just one of the things you can rely on, while staying in Red Door Hostel.

I travelled to goa as a solo female traveller and was so nervous to meet people. The staff were so fun and friendly, to the point they became my close friends while I was there. The outdoor setting is perfect and the fairlights really creates a lovely atmosphere for bevs and music. You can rent electric bicycles for cheap to explore the jungle and coastline which I highly recommend. Staff even gave me local info on cool routes I could take to explore local areas that tourists rarely visit. I ended up staying much longer than anticipated because it was the perfect hostel for my holiday. THANKS RED DOOR FOR A WICKED TIME! Love ya girl, Freya x
