Just the place we needed to stay in Goa, very beautiful and calm. The property has its own charm and is just 5 mins away from Vagator and Anjuna beach in North Goa. The best part is, despite being so close to the beaches, you do not get to see the hustle of traffic or people. The property itself is so beautiful you don't want to move out of it.

Not to forget the owners of this place, they are so down to earth and friendly that makes this place a second home. The food they prepare for you is customised as per your taste and needs.

5 stars to everything at Hacienda De Goa...

I just got back from an excellent stay at Hacienda de Goa. It was the first vacation we’ve had taken in over a year & a half. A BIG thank you to Harsh & the entire staff for making sure we were well looked after, and also for their warm hospitality and attentive service.

We had taken a suite & a superior room and stayed for 5 days. Both the rooms were pleasant & clean as was the rest of the property. The food was fantastic & most importantly, the temperature in the pool was “just right!” 😊

All the staff we encountered were professional & friendly & we can’t wait to go back. Thank you for a wonderful mini-vacation & the happy memories!

To finalize our grand tour India, we booked one week in Goa at Haciënda de Goa Resort. The location is great. Furthermore all working people at this resort and the management deserves a big compliment. The place is spotless, the ambiance is total relaxation. If you like to book a holiday in Goa, don't look further, this resort brings a big smile on your face.

Okay, to start with, we were very excited about our stay at Hacienda. We had booked 2 suites for 4 nights for the 26th Jan weekend. The booking process was smooth, Mr Thomas was thorough and professional, even arranging for airport pick up at a basic fee. Having read all the great reviews on Trip Advisor, we felt we had made a perfect choice for a family vacation, especially since we were traveling with a 6mnth pregnant woman and 3 kids under 7yrs. Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed with our overall experience. I ll try and sum it up as objectively as possible.

Location: Located on a deserted road, about 2 km from the nearest beach, one of Hacienda's biggest weaknesses is its location. You are dependent on the hotel to book you a car as there are no taxis available outside. The 100 mt road leading up to the resort is bumpy, rocky and lined with a couple of residential properties overlooking the resort. All good eating joints, beaches and nightclubs are a good 10-15mins/ 3-4km away. The area after 7pm is deserted and looks very unsafe.

Reception & Welcome: Though Mr Thomas was hospitable, his overall demeanor was very curt and inflexible (almost like a stern uncle!). We had booked 2 suites and unfortunately got the worst 2 possible. Both were right next to the reception drive in. The view from our bedroom was the reception area. When we asked for a change of rooms, we were told that all suites were booked. Because of the room location, we were disturbed with guests driving in and/or checking-in at odd hours of the night.
Rooms (Suites): I haven't seen the other category rooms so cant talk about them though from the outside they seemed pretty small and badly located (the classic rooms were on the driveway). The suites however are very spacious and well maintained. The bathrooms are large and clean and the bed rooms comfortable with a separate closet area. The suites also have a kitchenette and living area with all basic utility items. The kids loved the space!

Pool: The resort does have a lovely clean blue pool. But I must warn you, its a huge safety hazard with really rough spiky tiles on the border of the pool. The kids scratched and bruised themselves on Day 1, making it impossible for us to go again. The tiles used on the sides are absolutely unfit for pool usage. When we told Mr Thomas about it, he said that it was normal wear and tear and we must watch our kids!!! Another big downer of the pool is the lack of privacy. One side of the pool area faces the driveway with no plants or trees or high walls to conceal the pool. Anyone walking or driving up to the resort has full view of the pool. So did the residential houses on the driveway. So if privacy is what you want, then stay away!
Restaurant: We didn't eat much here, the food is over priced (a glass of milk at Rs. 100/- is really overpriced). My pregnant sister did try their breakfast once, but the lack of choice and average food quality was enough to dissuade the group to eat there. The restaurant shuts at 930 which again is pretty disappointing!

Service: Supposedly one of their biggest strengths but for us, one of the trip's biggest disappointments. On Day 1 they give you 3 bottles of water per room and thats it. We booked for 4 nights and paid 125$ (Rs 6100/-) a night, the least we expected was 2 bottles of water daily. When asked, we were curtly told that this was the rule. The high room cost doesnt include breakfast which is more or less mandatory these days. At 125$/night, you get room +bf at most top beach resorts in Goa so you do feel a little cheated. Lastly, being a beach resort, it is pretty much mandatory to give guests beach towels. When asked, we were very rudely told that no hotel in the world gives beach towels. Mr Thomas told us that he had travelled all of Europe and America and nowhere do they give beach towels. Totally untrue Mr Thomas, we too have done a bit of beachside travel and beach towels in resorts charging 100$+/night is pretty much expected. We were told to go buy beach towels from the market.
The final nail on the service was at checkout when we had to pay 2% extra just coz we were paying by card!! It was pretty preposterous to have that condition in a so called modern resort!! Anyways, by then we were pretty much done with the place and just paid up whatever was asked of us.

To sum it up, Hacienda is BLAND and recommended for those who dont travel much and are looking for a safe bet/ homely accommodation and dont mind over paying for it. For those who have travelled the world and expect a certain standard of service, location and facilities, this is not for you! The place doesnt have much of a character nor the energy of a true Goan resort.
