Best place to be in Kolkata for people concerned about the pocket. Rooms are clean with basic ammenities. Lot of foreigners stay here as the room rates are very pocket friendly. Situated in CIT road it is easily connected to the city

I have travelled from Canada and stayed at the Lakshmi Narayan guest house a few times with my family including two children; always felt safe and the rooms were clean. Excellent stay and way better than most of the guest houses and hotels I stayed in Kolkata. The owner Partha is always very helpful and has helped me with arranging...

I would like to thank the Lakshmi Narayan Guest House for taking such kind care of my daughter on her stay. I can not thank the owner's son enough for his help. During a very stressful time for their family the reservation for my daughter was confirmed by phone to me in the US. Mr. Pathra answered all my questions....

This feedback isn't based on an overnight or weekend stay as I've been at Lakshmi Narayan for the last 6 weeks (last week june - 2nd week August). I've been travelling to India several times a year for the past 12 years and this is by far the best guest house in this price range I've stayed in - I've...

Very homely atmosphere says on its website. Very small rooms. The GH phone rings till very late at night. The owner (when he's around) talks loudly over the phone that my wife couldn't hear me talking in the room. the worst part is that during our stay, the owner undertook the painting of the inside of the GH. The smell...

I've stated at Bodhi Tree and Laxmi Narayan guest house once each time. The former is run by an art dealer, this is run by an ex engineer- and that can be seen in every aspect of the two places. There are a total of 4 rooms. Laxmi Narayan is a clean, ok place, functionally complete( like I said -...

I wish we had been able to let fresh air into the room. Several of the windows did not open. The only one that did opened out onto a dark alley. The room smelled heavily of moth balls – I can still smell it on my clothes. And then, without warning, the owner began painting the interior of the building,...

I was there at the end of January 2006 (maybe beginning of February). I enjoyed the cleanliness of the room, the confort of the bed, spacious enough room. There was no cockroaches ! So far the best Guest House in Kolkata. Very nice people. I would recommend to anyone.

“The owner Partha was very helpful and replied all my emails. Suggest sending an email to confirm room types; there are smaller rooms and large rooms. I was able to stay in one room with two small children; a little cosy but managable”
