A very welcomed getaway inside the bustle of Kolkata. A peaceful escape for two nights in the third floor twin room facing the Ganga - river through large pane viewing windows. Very helpful staff assisted with entry with a wheel chair. Although, not all spaces are wheelchair accessible the staff are ready to assist.
The check in process was excellent as identification was send in advance online. Payment deposit was easy with a link send from the front desk.
The room was neat, clean. The evening was quiet, with minimal sounds from the reception room downstairs. Staff were friendly and supplied water and bathroom supplies. Room service was prompt with great quality hand made pizza.
The upstairs deck with bar and outdoor space was lovely. Great views of the new and old Howrah Bridges. The buffet breakfast was nice with a variety of choices and fresh omelettes which can be ordered. South and North Indian options. Food and beverage prices seemed reasonable to me. A moderate filling lunch for two cost less than Rs 2000 with drinks.
Staff are keen for feedback. I felt they were poised to provide a good service. Room cleaning service was eager to help.
Personally, it was such a great stay because I could simply look out at the wonderful water views. This is a really value for money place catering to Kolkata locals. But the foreigner will easily experience the essence of Kolkata hospitality and cusine.
Apples must be compared to apples. So I am giving this place 4 stars because to get five stars a place must be prepared for constructive feedback. Things to pay attention to :
Room checklist to make sure everything that is ment to be there is infact there like towels, tissues etc, I think some extra packets of tea would be welcome. I am yet to check out so may provide an update.
I have enjoyed my stay here. I would definately come back next time I visit. I would recommend this to my friends for a night or two of relaxation, good food, and a nice bar environment.

I was there for an official visit on the 25th of March for our meeting. The meeting and greeting was perfect from all senses upon checkin. Nice courteous staffs always wearing their smile. We were placed at their banquet hall "Compass" it had a nice and classy interior with a deck overviewing the Ganges. During the lunch break we were headed for their restaurant "Bridge", a Bengali buffet was served to us. The food quality and spread was awesome, Luchi, Daal, Basanti Pulao, Mutton Kosha, Chicken, Desserts were all to die for. I could not resist myself in having a peek at their rooms viewing the Ganges. Upon opening the door the big glass window gave me a feeling as if I was on a sail, the room was equipped with all modern amenities. We had a cultural evening event on their "P Deck" followed by dinner. A great buffet with live grill station made my day complete. Overall it was a different and classy experience. Wish to visit again.

The stay was quite nice and the ambience is just so mesmerising. The booking was made easy by Sourav Mitra. But The food quality needs to be upgraded. Also the in room dining is very hard to reach and reception couldn’t connect the call. We had to reach out to so many dept for candle and glass. But then the waiter who server, I guess his name was Harish or Harsh, I forgot the name, he helped a lot with our order. Also the washroom was smelling weird. The room service dept need to be a bit prompt as we faced a lot of issue connecting to them. Even if the phone is busy, they can call back once the line is free or if line is not working reception can help us.

If you want to spoil your special day (it was our first wedding anniversary) stay in this hotel. My husband and I were quite excited about staying in a floating hotel on the banks of river Hoogly to celebrate our special day. The day i checked in at around 1 pm, and was admiring the beautiful view, i encountered the first instance where i realised that polo floatel gives a damn about providing good service to it's customers. The entire hotel had no water supply. Imagine going inside the washroom after traveling for nearly 24 hours in such hot water and there is not a single drop of water in the tap. When i called the reception, they informed me about the situation but gave me no practical answer when the water supply will be restored. After 2 and half hours the water supply was finally restored. In the evening my husband and I went to their dining in place and ordered two cocktails, it took them an hour to give us our drink because apparently due to shortage of water they did not have ice in the entire hotel.
The next day in the morning, we called house keeping asked for two mugs and a spoon to have morning tea. After three calls and two time visiting the front desk, they have us one cup and one wooden stirrer. We left the place without having tea because we already had our day planned. Next in the evening again we decided to sit at their beautiful deck dinning area and to my utter surprise, neither did the had drinking water and ofcourse no ice at all. I had lost it by then and i blasted off the server Mr. Arif. I felt extremely bad that he had to take the wrath of my simmering anger with the inefficiency of the management of polo floatel. He tried to compensate the inefficiency of the management by giving us complementary dessert and snacks.
And it was not just us other customers were also complaining about the pathetic service. House keeping never received any calls and in few occasions they do, you would know that they do not really want to serve you. The front desk has only one response for each time you complain about the pathetic services, "We are extremely sorry for it" . That is it. So Floatel thank you for ruining our Day and the trip. Please do not visit this place if you are looking for good services. This was my worst stay at any hotel so far. And would never recommend this place to anyone. The beautiful view is just a trap and you would soon regret booking the palce al together.

Great experience. Would like to suggest to check-in before evening to enjoy the marvelous sunset. Every hour provides a unique experience. The window glasses are totally transparent, hence act accordingly ;P . Also, take a note that the whole structure is tilted on one side and it can be totally felt in every corner. One more thing is that do not miss dining on the deck. I would also rate the breakfast, five-star rating. Overall an amazing experience. the staffs were also good, polite and professional. An amazing experience inside the city.

The location is prime. Riverside view is awesome. Service is also great. Rooms are relatively small and AC operating is little different. Foods are little bit on the costlier side but the restaurent is at the rooftop and you get a nce view with your food. Overall it was a pretty good experience.

Quite an unique experience for a short stay at Floatel. One of the most recognized and iconic place in Kolkata.
Reception was a bit busy and it did took some time for checking us in but post that it was a good experience. Rooms were of decent size with all amenities.
Good views from the top deck / roof top. Restaurant food was tasty and freshly prepared. Compared to a Kolkata prices, item prices were a bit on the higher side. Decent varieties of items of offer on breakfast.
Overall service was very good.
Couple of points which would have made better: 1. While hair dryer is available on demand, having one attached to each washroom would have been convenient. 2. For a double occupancy room, providing dental kit for one person is a bit wired, please provide two dental kits when two people are staying.
Definitely recommended for a short stay.

I opted floatel's boat ride for a friend's birthday. It was an amazing experience, one of a kind. They provide a package which is to be pre booked that includes an hour of boat ride and we were provided with a picnic basket that included finger foods, coffee and a soda drink. The boat is decorated Beautifully, it looks very aesthetically pleasing. We were escorted by Mr. Sona who was was very polite and cooperative. He made sure we very satisfied with all the arrangements.

When searching a suitable place to arrange a family get together and banquet on 27th November 2021, to celebrate my son’s marriage, Polo Floatel fascinated me most by its convenient location and unique identity of being a hotel on a barge, floating on the Kolkata’s ancient lifeline, Ganga.
My guests were just a select hundred in number and so, from among five options Polo Floatel offered me, I hired their “Compass hall & deck”, about 2500 sq ft combination of half AC hall and half open deck which matched my requirement best. I also booked two river-side sunset cabins to serve as retiring rooms for any of my guests if so be needed.
The occasion created a lasting impression among my guests. The ambience of the place was unparallel. Sales Executive Miss. Sayanti Das coordinated the whole program, starting from the introductory talks at the front desk a month ahead, through finalizing the menu by conferencing with Cheff Mr. Sujan, upto personally supervising the event till 10 pm on the date of the occasion, by teaming up with Mr. Sabbir, the highly efficient in-charge of the venue. No word of praise can match their service.
Ours was a traditional Bengali family event and the full course dinner, comprising 23 items from welcome drink to desserts, charmingly harmonized with the taste of my guests. Qudos to Cheff Mr. Sujan.
