My friend and I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks while we were volunteering in Kolkata. It is central, close to many restaurants, cafes and shops, and also quite close to the metro station. It is ridiculously cheap - we paid 250 rupees each for a private room with our own bathroom, but you get what you pay for. Our... More

Good sides are location and fare. Located very near new market and park street metro station. Transport available easily for all places. Everything else about this place is below standard. Rooms are not clean, staffs not very helpful. But if you are looking for a cheap hotel only to stay for the night, you can go for it.

Only under extremely desperate circumstances would you stay at this place, be warned it has all the hallmarks of a stay in prison, the staff, with the exception of 1 happy sort of guy were rude and arrogant particularly the head honcho who took it to a new level. The clientele at this place were mainly local men who would... More

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the start of June. The hotel is very very cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for, and it's quite a good location in the heart of the busy touristy Sudders street. Also the guy that ran the place initially seemed really helpful and friendly. However, only stay here if... More

Pro's: - 350INR for my room for a night. Con's - I eventually worked out that lingering smell in my room was a mix of BO and urine. - They staff do get aggressive if you ask what the wifi password is and enter it themselves. - They manager will get aggressive if you ask for a towel even if... The room is cheap considering the prizes of Kolkata, but they are dirty and unkept. The room was big enough, without AC and I had my own bathroom, but everything was very dirty and I had to lean the bathroom before using it. The staff is not really helpful. There is free wifi that works fairly well. The location is... More

Great place if you like cockroaches, rooms that doesn't seem to have been cleaned for a year (even with old tenants toothbrushes still laying around!), and to be eaten alive by bed bugs. I kept waking up by bites, and when we told a guy in the staff, he just laughed. Also, when I went to bed with wet hair,... More

Well, not much to say about this place. The rooms were quite spacious and dirty. The clean sheets were filled with multi colour stains and the place is pretty run down. The beds were absolutely terrible. The location is quite good though, the staff are awesome and the wifi worked quite well. The strong point of this place is the... More

Yes its cheap and yes you get what you pay for, but the building ouzes old colonial charm and has a great location. The larger rooms upstairs are better then the single ones in the back courtyard. Wifi is hit and miss but the cafe opposite has free wifi.
