What a wonderful boutique hotel. There aren't that many rooms in this hotel, and there are a lot of stairs, so be forewarned. But the inside, oh, the inside, so unique. With the exposed brick walls, (this townhouse was built in the 1920's) the open air atrium that goes up the 5 stories, the quaint rooms, the dining room on the roof, so cool. The room was on the smaller side, but had all these antique items in it. The bathroom behind the door, with the toilet and sink on one level, and the copper tub up the stairs was so one of a kind. You must have the Bengal breakfast, so simple, but so full of flavour and goodness. You also looked forward to supper, we never went out of the hotel to eat it was that good. The service was outstanding. You must stay here if in Kolkata

Located in old Kolkata, on a quiet street, this colonial era house has been restored around a central atrium reminiscent of the Moroccan ryhiad style. The rooms vary in size greatly with those on the second floor spacious with a large bathroom and bath. On our return a fortnight later we were allocated room one which was tiny by comparison and just adequate for a days stay. The breakfasts and dinners were both varied and excellent range and quality. There is a rooftop dining room which proved to be a great location Staff were attentive and always ready to help out with any request Would stay here again if we ever return to Kolkata

As others have noted, this is a beautifully restored and appointed Bengali townhouse that offers supremely comfortable accommodation - huge rooms, lovely to stay in, everything that you need provided. The rooftop restaurant gives you a good view of the north part of the city, and the staff are very attentive and obliging. Calcutta Bungalow epitomises‘hospitality’, and it’s set in a vibrant and interesting area of the city - lively, friendly and welcoming.

The moment you walk in you know you’ve arrived at somewhere very special. The attention to detail in the decor was amazing and picks your curiosity. Where am I? Each room takes on its own personality with unique pieces with comfort in mind. And the STAFF! Reception was welcoming and PROFESSIONAL. We were treated like royalty by WASIM who spent the day with us on a personal tour. He was thoughtful and caring, speaks excellent English, and created an experience that will never be forgotten. The restaurant menu was vast with many choices available. Consideration was given to our personal preference. This is a real gem!

That was my 2nd visit to the Boipara suite. The ambiance, the nostalgia it brings of the older times is amazing. Neat and clean rooms with every possible amenities available. Locality is clean and calm. My only regret is not being able to taste their lunch as we had commitments outside. Also i found that the band of Snowy and Patchy broke up😞 I befriended a crow who seemed humane to my astonishment. Reception was cool, Receivers were cooler ☺. Housekeeping and helpers were amazing as well. Breakfast was so large that we had to eat after 2 PM. I will definitely visit again. Team, please keep up the good work. You guys keep Bangaliana rock and rolling.

We stayed here twice as a base for visiting relatives in various parts of Kolkata and also to experience the crazy Durgo Puja festival. We have travelled widely in india and elsewhere and can honestly say that this beautifully restored townhouse was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed at. It was a quiet refuge from a busy city and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive making it feel like a home from home. Food was excellent - we enjoyed the roof terrace. We went on a couple of the Calcutta walks tours which were excellent showing us sides of the city we hadn't seen on previous visits. We look forward to coming again soon.

This was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I have ever had. Hotel rooms are comfortable and charming and the whole building has been beautifully restored. Meals are served on a cool and pleasant rooftop and the menu has plenty of choice. The staff are fantastic - they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you want, and are ready to help you with anything from ordering your meals to giving you advice on places to visit and ordering taxis for you. A great team!

A lovely place to start our holiday. Old house that retains a lot of its old charm (and all of the steps!).Room comfortable rather than spacious. Excellent kitchen on the roof _- we ate for our 2 night stay here- and the food was freshly cooked and delicious and served with lovely smiles! It was my birthday while I was there and I received a lovely bunch of flowers, a key ring gift, a special desert AND and birthday cake with my name on it - and the kitchen staff singing "Happy Birthday".
