Though the hotel does not have an in-dining restaurant, it is very, very good! The rooms are absolutely top notch and the pictures do not deceive (unlike many hotels where the room photos are designed to give a picture which is very different from reality). We stayed in a super Deluxe room and the room lived up to every expectation. It was well appointed, spotlessly clean and very spacious. The washroom was well designed with a separate cubicle for showers. The breakfast was very decent too (we ordered our standard fare of toast, butter, omlette and tea). The hotel is situated in a very nice area in South Kolkata (just off Purna Das Road) - quiet, yet near all the main shopping areas around Gariahat and Golpark. And there are at least 20 restaurants within walking distance! While they do not have an in-dining restaurant, the staff will ring you in the evening and ask whether you would like to order anything. If I had to force myself to nit pick and find some fault, I would say that they should maybe have arranged for some other toiletries in the bathroom (though bath soap and hand wash soap was there). The hotel reception is also a few metres away from the main residential part of the hotel. If an in-dining restaurant is not absolutely essential for you, I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel without any hesitation.

The owner was a delight to deal with! He personally made sure everything was fine. I stayed for almost 10 days. Located close to fine restaurants, shopping and transportation. I recommend this to anyone who wants to be in South Kolkata - Ballygunge area.

I have stayed at Residency Guest House twice, once in 2013 and last time few months back. The hotel is located at a quiet and nice place near Golpark mor/ Gariahat. Those who want to stay close to this area, it is a highly recommended option. The guest house is comfortable and safe, people are well mannered and helpful. Though the room arrangement and electronics (TV, freeze, geyser etc.) are not the latest, the hotel offers good VFM with service and complementary breakfast. I wish the guesthouse would update their electronic items.

I have been here on a trip with my family, stayed 2 nights and it is a decent stay. Well maintained room n bathroom. The bedsheets are clean. The staff is very helpful, Especially manager Mr. Rajiv he helped us in arranging a city tour economically. They serve the break fast to the room on time. They bring the dinner from near hotels if you want. It doesn't look like a hotel but the stay is very pleasant and excellent due to the staff and maintenance. If i am again in kolkata ill be here. The orher plus point is it is near to the market, kalighat and birla mandir are less than 3 km. This is not a hotel if you like to stay in a guest house type accommodation you try it.

This hotel was more then I could have expected when visiting Kolkata. Firstly the hotel was very clean and modern. Not great views from the rooms, but spectacular views from the rooftop balcony. The service was great, with breakfast arriving in your room everyday exactly on time. The men in the hotel were more then hoppy to walk us to our hotel when we weren't sure where to go. The rooms were cleaned every day, from top to bottom. There are two fans in every room and plenty of television channels to choose from. Overall, the hotel made the stay in India, very comfortable as there was decent wifi and friendly staff.
