We stayed for 2 weeks and can recommend Broadway for its unique character. The location is excellent for very short taxi rides (and a short walk) to Park st and Sidder st and easy walking all over the tourist sites. The beds are clean and the bucket hot water was never a problem. The managers werent inspiring but the staff...

Of the four hotels I stayed in while holidaying in Kolkata, I found this place the most acceptable. It is rather old-fashioned, but that is part of the charm. There was a bit of noise on my first night, with hotel workers apparently playing cards in an adjoining room. But i always take earplugs on my travels, so this didn't...

This hotel style is very different from anything else I experienced in India. It reminded of the old colonial hotels I used to stay at in downtown Cairo, in the 80's. Old English building, high ceilings, huge rooms, caged lift, with a full-time lift operator! The room itself was vast and clean, with many windows, and felt safe. There is...

This place is an old school hotel that reminds me of movies setting in the 20s. The lift is manual, with porter to operate for every guest. The receptionist is exceptionally warm and helpful. Ask him for everything you need to get help, he'll fix most things for you. The bar at ground floor is a must try if you...

Built in 1937 with loads of olde world's character. Very well maintained hotel and well run/organized. We stayed for 8 nights in January 2017 and really enjoyed it. Yes, you have to phone down for hot water ( comes by the bucket), but it's prompt, cheerfully delivered and super hot. Rooms are very large and cleaned daily thoroughly, as is...

This was our first stop on our India trip. We had a suite with 2 a joined rooms with 2 king sized beds. Private bathroom with hot water. Place could do with some TLC regarding painting and decorating but it was clean. Staff are lovely and helpful. You can get food downstairs in the bar and they also did room...

Stepping into Broadway Hotel feels like winding back the clock 50 years: From the predominantly paper-based filing system, having a man controlling the elevator for you, to providing no access to the internet. When we arrived we were greeted by a handful of porters which carried out luggage up to the room. Our room was large, spacious and clean with...

The Broadway hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Kolkata. Its very conveniently located. Not much of an outward appearance and the rooms also are not posh in the modern sense. But you get large old style clean rooms with excellent service. The street on which this hotel is also very crowded. But if you are looking for some...
