1. Noise at midnight because some work happened in some room upstairs !! and I complained and it stopped after half an hour. But sleep has been disturbed.

2. Not accepted Credit Card saying machine not working. Also not accepting online payment to OYO. Forced to pay cash by taking out money from nearby ATM machine.

3. Wifi was there but found hard to connect and when connect speed was not satisfactory.

4. Food price was costly. Hence better buy from outside.

5. Breakfast was complimentary..pic is attached.

Overall, Not to book same hotel again as they force to pay in cash and not accepting Card saying machine is not working. Hope it happens with everyone.

Hotel Aura located in S N Banerjee Road is a decent Business Class Hotel in the heart of Kolkata.

Stayed there for 2 nights on Business with colleagues.

Pro's
• Centrally located.
• Friendly and helpful staff.
• Flat screen TV with satellite channels.
• Rate can be negotiated depending on the season and occupancy.
• Hot Water available at all times, separate Geyser in all rooms.
• Quality and Taste of food was good.
• Split AC in all the rooms.

Con’s
• Average maintenance.
• Small rooms.
• Early Check In at 0930 hrs was denied even after advance information and a promise from their side that it would be given.
• No Bathroom amenities except a cheap soap, small bottles of talc and shampoo.
• Dated and stained towels
• Stained Bed sheets.
• No Hand Towels.
• No Extra Towels on request. Was offered a stinking Bath Mat instead of a towel.
• Only city view from the rooms.
• Food & Beverage - Moderately expensive.
• Hardly any choice in the buffet breakfast. One Juice (same for three days), Cornflakes, two Vegetarian and two Non Vegetarian items in the buffet along with bread and eggs to order.
• Roof top restaurant cramped for space especially if it rains.
• No Tea/Coffee maker or fridge/minibar available in the room.
• No Work Table.
• Wi-Fi was a pain to set up. Decent speeds.
• No Complimentary water in the room. (Aquaguard water in used bottles placed in the room - Not Hygienic at all)
• Delay in service of Food orders in the restaurant/rooms.
• Strong smell of Urine from the bathroom every time you enter. Exhaust not effective at all.
• Open drain the the bathroom. Invitation for rats and cockroaches to enter.

Good location. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed in the room. The shower though was the Indian type without an enclosure.A free rooftop breakfast was included. The staff were always there to provide service. The Aura was a safe place to stay.

Out for dinner and this hotel's nice roof top restaurant promised to be delightful, but it turned out to be a nightmare. The staff is totally unprofessional and service is too slow. In addition, the food was not good at all. Among our orders was also a Kashmiri Pulao but it was just plain rice with a few pieces of melon. No view of cashew nuts or other typical ingredients of Kashmiri Pulao. The dinner was verz disappointing and we would not recommend this place, unless they really improve the quality of the food and service.

CHEATER is the only suitable word for this hotel, please do not book this hotel, they will rip you off, rooms are very dirty, breakfast was stinky and was smelling like rotten food, fat old manager at the age of retiring is still working in that hotel and literally have got no respect for any guests and shouts at all the guests there. These people never except their fault and always have excuses
they have travel desk for the guest, but it literally for the guest to rip them off, they have got good setting with the third party and always ask to pay more and more, please please do not book this hotel even for free.

THIS IS PLACE OF CHEATERS

The only plus point with the hotel is its location as its in a center of the city which is near by to the most popular street in Kolkata for shopping which is "Lindsay street". Other wise food quality is mediocre, Rooms are small.

Hello to all readers and to all staff @ Trip. Happy New Year wished to you all. I happened to stay at this hotel on 19 Nov. I was due to visit Belur Matt Shrine on the same day. I took my own taxi from airport and the ride was 90 mins. The traffic was ghastly. This hotel is situated at an intersection of 2 busy streets. Vehicles come at you from all directions. The roads are very dirty and the people constantly keep spitting.....Disgusting.......Absolutely mental and very noisy. So if you want a quiet stay and quiet sleep......this is NOT for you. I pre-booked this place on make my trip website and I also pre-paid....ie non-refundable.
Check in OK. One of bell boys.....was talking too much in the lift and I motioned him to keep quiet. The room is small. The AC was from 1984. And the noise.....yes ......constantly. Urgghh....!!!! The bathroom was tiny, just enough space to turn around. The tap next to the commode was leaking all the time.....loud trickles.
For the price I paid.......I felt disappointed . I had lunch at the restaurant on the terrace. I also had dinner there. The food was cooked well and exceptionally tasty. I will review the food in the next post, due to photo upload restrictions in terms of message size.
To this hotel......I would return to eat......But to stay.......NOPE....!!!!
