This is a really nice hotel in Darjeeling that gives you all that is needed to have a good stay - good rooms, view, service and food!

Rooms:
We had booked Premium Heritage room and later were upgraded to a suite room (Mongolia). Thanks to Karma and Saujanya (lovely people)! Both the rooms give you an amazing heritage feel with modern amenities. It was bliss! The basic toiletries like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, slipper etc are provided along with water kettle and heater. If something is missing, it can be asked for.
The deluxe rooms are located in the same building as the reception and only few rooms get the mountain view. However, there is a terrace (with table and chairs) on top this building where people can sit and enjoy the view.
The suite, premium heritage and family cottage rooms are located separately.
Most of the premium heritage rooms are designed in a way to give partial view of the mountain.
The suite rooms are very spacious. The room Mangolia in particular, has a great view! Being a corner room, it gives view of the mountain as well the lawn area of the hotel (where cottage rooms are). Even the toilet gives a good view. 😄 The toy train can also be spotted slightly along with the Indian flag.
The cons about the rooms were that the wooden flooring would make noise at times and geyser was not very efficient. The tap water/shower would give cold water in between. The bathroom was little small to enjoy a bath. Also, one heater was not sufficient for the suite room since it was a big room.

Location: This hotel is located on Gandhi Road which is approx a km away from the Mall road. The very famous hotel Kunga is on way to The Mall road.

Food: The food we good in taste and the prices were reasonable. We had opted for rooms with breakfast. For breakfast, different cuisines were there - North & South Indian along with English like Paratha, Poori, Upma, Idly, Sandwich, Fruits, Toast etc. We had also had dinner twice once in the restaurant and other time in the room. The Chinese were little spicy. The butter chicken and rotis were good.

Service: All the people were really nice. Karma was very helpful and would often suggest about places/restaurants that we were interested to go to.

The entrance of the hotel itself has a photographic area along with the lawns where also one could sit and enjoy the view. There is also a provision of bonfire there but i am not sure if it is for people staying in cottages.

Service:

Very good experience overall. Staff are polite and helpfull. Had taken deluxe room, deluxe suite and heritage suite.
Deluxe rooms and deluxe suites situated in new building are excellent and surprisingly deluxe rooms are the cheapest and best rooms with clear mountain view .Interior and amenities in these rooms are at par with industry standard .Deluxe suits are very spacious and good for families with small children, with lots of space to play around
I personally stayed in heritage suite .
Heritage suites are in old building which is all wooden old school construction .These suits are not for millenials used to modern architecture. These rooms get extremely cold and due to size are tough to heat .Also lighting is quite dim.
Bathrooms in old heritage suite are average and were extremely cold in December .....like arctic cold .Suggest to take heritage suites in summer months only if you are not a cold weather person.
Heritage suites offer old world charm and nice seating areas in the suite and common lawn in front offering clear views of the mountains and kanchanjunga on clear weather days .Also best for smokers like me .
Open parking offered is quite spacious though road leading to parking is very steep and narrow and for experienced drivers only .
Kitchen is open from 730 to 930 am/pm and food quality is above average with decent pricing .
Overall centrally located value for money property to stay in

This hotel provides a fantastic view of the Kangchendzonga range from the terrace and also from some of the rooms (we had 203, 205 and 206 and would assume the same rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors would have the same view). The staff were extremely courteous and friendly (from the guards to the porters to the front desk and housekeeping). Two negatives that I would like to mention is that the breakfast could be a little more elaborate with some cold cuts perhaps and also the time for preparing eggs and other items that are served hot and fresh (like luchis dosas and even Darjeeling tea) could have a shorter turnaround time and be served in a bit less chaotic manner. Also the geyser switches in the room need to be marked/labelled as hot water is an absolute necessity in the hills and one should not even be able to switch it off inadvertently.

The rooms are cosy and very comfortable to be in. The property is nice to walk around in (especially in front of the old wing where there are several areas to sit and soak in nature and enjoy the view of the mountain on a crisp sunny day).

The location is close to the mall and also not too far from the rail station (one can see the steam engines roll in and out and also hear the whistle blowing) yet it is not to noisy around the hotel.

All in all a fantastic stay at a beautiful property made even more special by a group of wonderful people.

My stay at Swiss hotel was extremely pleasant. The staff is extremely courteous and the property is just exhilaratingly beautiful. It has its own parking space as well. The view that this hotel offers is to die for. The washrooms are extremely clean and they have heating pads on the bed which is very useful during the harsh winters.

I am glad that we chose Summit Swiss Heritage Hotel for a 2 night stay in the month of March 2020. The property is very well located within walking distance from Mall Road and Darjeeling Toy train Station. Old Heritage property has an excellent view of Kanchenjunga. The property has tiny outdoor play area, an indoor games area and a well maintained lawn for tourist to enjoy the nice weather which Darjeeling offers.
Our room was neat and clean however it didn't have a nice view.
People at the Reception Swarnim and Mr Karma Rai were very cordial and courteous. Restaurant staff Karuna, Sarita, Samant , all were very courteous and their hospitality was very overwhelming. Overall we liked the hospitality of all the staff and would recommend this hotel to everyone who visits Darjeeling.

Went to Darjeeling for our first wedding anniversary and staying at Summit swiss was one of the best decisions we made! Mr. Karma was very kind to arrange a beautiful valley view room for us, further Ms. Soujanya and Mr. Kabindra went an extra mile to surprise us with a decorated room on "the day".
We cannot express how special it felt and a 'thank you' would surely not be enough! Every staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The hospitality in short was unmatched!

The hotel is located at a 10-15 min (slow pace) walking distance from Keventer's and the mall, the room was clean - (wooden flooring and good housekeeping) with a view of the Kanchenjunga, the washroom however was a little small, but shouldn't much of a problem.

PS: Do not miss sipping a cup of tea by the beautiful lawns (near the cottages) looking at the gorgeous valleys.

We had been there in Darjeeling after a long time spending indoors due to covid 19 pandemic. We were looking for a stay foe few days just to get some relief of the boredom, and for it what better place near by than the mountains. So we booked 1 room for 2 of us in this hotel deluxe rooms through the hotel website itself. Initially we were not promised any mountain view rooms, but on my special requests through website and calling the hotel, they offered us a mountain view room in the fourth floor ( not all rooms are mountain view) and an early check in too. the hotel is located at a 10-15 mins walk from the mall road Rooms were good with room heater and other modern amenities, with a nice view of the Kanchenjungha, though a little overpriced. Service is good. Food was good and a prompt room service. Safety guidelines and sanitization were more or less obeyed. Some front desk staffs could be more hospitable though. Ala cart Breakfast menu needs improvement.

Kalimpong
Hotel Summit Barsana
Date: 25th — 27th December 2022

Beautiful view, clean rooms, bed and bed linens were clean and in good condition. Bathroom was neat and tidy and the ambience was very positive and welcoming.

Problems:

1. Bathroom fittings need maintanance
2. Room Heater doesn’t work properly.
3. House keeping and room service need to be more proactive as we faced issues with multiple things asked but mostly while reqesting for water we had to call them multiple time. Drinking Water is basic neccessity and seems like they do not understand that. We got few bottled water but there are no shops near the hotel to quickly go and grab bottled water.

Darjeeling
Summit Swiss Heritage and Spa Resort
Date: 27th — 30th December 2022

We stayed in the new wing and occuppied the suite rooms. The hotel is situated in a very reachable area. Mall is 10 minutes walking and the view is just alright as it was on the main road. The attendants were very prompt unlike Summit Barsana. Whenever called or asked for particular things they attended us with a big smile and immediately without delay with 100% occupancy and rush in the hotel.

Saurav Chhetri was the best amongst all and attended us very promptly. 5 star to the man and the rest of the hotel staff.

Problems:
1. Bathroom fittings need to have a look especially the water and the geayser connection. Darjeeling is a hill station and it is obviuos that taps will have cold running water and the temperature of the water will be very low. The geaysers need to be more efficient. It takes very long time to get hot water after one person has used the water in the geayser tank. Please fix the geayser issue. Also the taps and the showers are broken and they need to be changed.

Visiting Darjeeling was a dream for us, it is really the "Queen of Hills". Our cottage "Kanchenjunga" was a treat for the eyes and was cheery on top, of the entire experience of Darjeeling. The name is perfectly assigned as the beauty of "Kanchenjunga" was visible from the room, which is just incredible. Upon reaching we were welcomed by Mr. Karma and his colleague, they were incredibly nice and helped us with the check-in process in a jiffy. The room had all the necessities like blankets, a nice cabinet, electric kettle, tea/coffee pouches, room heater, bed heater, toiletries and hot water available all the time. The room and washroom were clean and well maintained. The lawn in front of our cottage was an add on which we never expected and we were very very happy to sit there and enjoy the majestic view while sipping the famous Darjeeling Tea. The complimentary breakfast was awesome and we also had our dinner ordered in-house and i must say the food quality is just great. The food was delivered right to our rooms which is awesome. After the entire experience we are highly satisfied with everything and will definitely stay here whenever we visit Darjeeling. This time it was a weekend trip and i really didn't like coming back so soon, but definitely will be coming back for a longer stay.

We have booked deluxe rooms 404 405. It provides breath taking views of Himalayan range and snow peaked glimpse of Mt. Kanchenjunga. On a day with clear weather one might see the it clear from room or from the rooftop sitting area. Food is okay and the resort has a heritage feel to it as it is more than 100 years old property. On top of it, as it is being managed by Summit group, we have found the entire place to be super tidy and presentable all the times. All the requests or concerns are taken care of with utmost importance. We have liked the stay here very much. It's just that when you book, let them know well in advance that you want a view room and they will arrange if available. The location and view is the main usp.
