After reading many Google reviews of 3 star hotels in Darjeeling with a parking facility and walking distance to Mall road, I finally booked 2 nights (May 24) Summit Swiss heritage resort 2 heritage premium rooms (without view) including breakfast for my family from the direct hotel website. It was slightly expensive but value for money as it included a heritage feeling, free room heater, heated bed, disposable cloth slippers, premium view of cottage etc. This heritage resort part is 110 years old. There are also other rooms of modern look which were constructed some years ago.
The rooms were neat and clean. The bathing space in the glass partition is slightly congested. Prompt room service. Always a positive and helpful response from their reception desk. Breakfast varieties including millet retated items were good (salt to be added as per taste). We also had dinner in a small restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel with light songs by live singer.
There is an individual electric geaser in the bathroom which takes @ 20 minutes to heat chilled water in the morning which is normal for all the hill station hotels. We had an issue with the geaser heating issue and they resolved the same quickly , meanwhile also provided a hot water bucket in the bathroom.
The hotel is located on Gandhi road and Mall road can be reached in 10 min walking distance (1.1 km) and we enjoyed famous Momos, lemon tree/ milk tea on mall road and also purchased famous Darjeeling tea.
I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a pleasant stay in Darjeeling. Heritage or modern style rooms can be chosen as per individual choice and availability.
I want to experience the hotel chain of both famous groups Summit and Udaan. Both have multiple hotels in Darjeeling and Sikkim main tourist places. Hence we stay at Summit hotel in Darjeeling and Udaan hotel in Gangtok... both stay was wonderful and up to our expectations.

We stayed in Summit Swiss Heritage hotel in May 2024 for 5 nights and booked 2 premium view room. We arrived a bit late on Checkin day but the front office staff was extremely courteous and helpful and arranged for a quick check in process since we were traveling with a senior citizen and kid. The rooms were very big, beautiful, well maintained and with all modern amenities (geyser, room heaters, tea/coffee maker, work desk, sofa cum bed, chairs etc). My mom who is a senior citizen stayed in a separate room and the hotel staff were thoughtful and considerate to provide an extra key card though it was not allowed per policy (thanks a ton for that thoughtful gesture 🙏) Due to some injury my mom needed ice and the hotel staff promptly provided the same. The hotel premises was extremely beautiful especially the outdoor area where you have a wonderful view. The top floor was also very good and kids enjoyed the play area and games room. Overall an extremely pleasant stay experience and would recommend this hotel to traveler’s planning their trip to Darjeeling.

I'd like to share my experience at the Hotel Summit Swiss in Darjeeling. My family and I stayed there on February 27, 2024 to 1 March 2024. The hotel is conveniently located about a 13 to 15-minute walk from the main market area. Its proximity is ideal for those who enjoy leisurely walks, adding a pleasant aspect to holiday relaxation.
The hotel comprises two buildings: a Heritage section and a modern building. We opted for two rooms in the modern building—a Deluxe room for two people and a Deluxe Suite room with an extra bed for three people. Both rooms were impeccably clean, spacious, and equipped with heaters, ensuring our comfort during the chilly weather.
I appreciated the convenience of the hotel's lift, particularly beneficial for senior citizens. The Deluxe non-view room was cozy and well-lit, while the Deluxe Suite room boasted ample space and lighting, though the heater's capacity was somewhat inadequate for its size.
Throughout our stay, the hotel staff exhibited exceptional cooperation and helpfulness. Room service was prompt and efficient, catering to our needs with speed and courtesy. The buffet breakfast was a delightful culinary experience, offering a variety of delicious options.
On our last day, we requested a room change from the modern building to the Heritage building, which was accommodated promptly and without additional charges. The Heritage building exuded its own charm, with cozy rooms and picturesque views. The provision of bed heaters in the Heritage rooms was a thoughtful touch, particularly appreciated during the colder evenings.
Overall, our stay at the Summit Swiss Hotel Darjeeling was truly memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travelers who value informed choices based on reviews.

Kalimpong Hotel Summit Barsana Date: 25th — 27th December 2022
Beautiful view, clean rooms, bed and bed linens were clean and in good condition. Bathroom was neat and tidy and the ambience was very positive and welcoming.
Problems:
1. Bathroom fittings need maintanance 2. Room Heater doesn’t work properly. 3. House keeping and room service need to be more proactive as we faced issues with multiple things asked but mostly while reqesting for water we had to call them multiple time. Drinking Water is basic neccessity and seems like they do not understand that. We got few bottled water but there are no shops near the hotel to quickly go and grab bottled water.
Darjeeling Summit Swiss Heritage and Spa Resort Date: 27th — 30th December 2022
We stayed in the new wing and occuppied the suite rooms. The hotel is situated in a very reachable area. Mall is 10 minutes walking and the view is just alright as it was on the main road. The attendants were very prompt unlike Summit Barsana. Whenever called or asked for particular things they attended us with a big smile and immediately without delay with 100% occupancy and rush in the hotel.
Saurav Chhetri was the best amongst all and attended us very promptly. 5 star to the man and the rest of the hotel staff.
Problems: 1. Bathroom fittings need to have a look especially the water and the geayser connection. Darjeeling is a hill station and it is obviuos that taps will have cold running water and the temperature of the water will be very low. The geaysers need to be more efficient. It takes very long time to get hot water after one person has used the water in the geayser tank. Please fix the geayser issue. Also the taps and the showers are broken and they need to be changed.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days in the last week of April. It was an amazing experience and very pleasant stay. Staff especially Miss Awanisha at the reception was very courteous and welcomed us with affection and shown us the facilities at the hotel which we can avail during our stay. Dining was always pleasant with the enthusiastic staff especially Miss Devika and she was very kind towards children and helping everyone single-handedly. Other staff were equally friendly. The premium view room was bit small but sufficient enough for couples with a panoramic view of hills and mighty Himalaya. We were very lucky to get the view of Kanchengenga peak in the last day. During dinner there was a nice guitar music played at the background and the interaction with the player was very entertaining. Mall Road which is a famous market place in Darjeeling was within a walkable distance which we visited thrice. It has many hotels and shops as well as a famous Mahakal shiv temple located there and a must place to visit. Also cab services recommended by the hotel was very useful and good. Overall it was a nice and pleasant experience.

We would rate the Front Desk team [Kavindra/Awanisha/Preetika] as excellent. The cyclone had struck on the day of our departure from Kolkata and the airport was closed down for 24 hours. We were able to make the journey the next evening and arrived at the hotel in Darjeeling late night around 11 pm! In the meantime, the Front Desk team had called us on the scheduled arrival day and checked us in remotely so that we had minimum anxiety in the circumstances and it was a quick entry to our room when we arrived late at night. Aside the front desk attended to all our needs during our stay; this was done very promptly and as per our requests. The rooms are well looked after and a deep cleaning is done everyday upon request.
We stayed at the Heritage wing in room Tenzing. The room was spacious enough with a good view although the bathroom could do with a shower curtain and some tiling to prevent overflow of bathwater.
The hotel does not have a minimum car service for pick up and drop off to airport and station. This service is an important part of the trip given the traffic and surpentine queues of vehicles into Darjeeling. The hotel has tied up with an outside car agency whose response we found most unhelpful. I recommend to make your own arrangements way in advance with a reliable car/taxi company.

First of all, we were welcomed with a cup of tea. The reception area is great with some space to relax and there is a map which gives us details of nearest sightseeing places which we can visit if they aren’t included in our itinerary. All the amenities are included and we didn’t face any problem with regard to room service. Food is really very delicious here, similar to home food (tasty and healthy). There was a singer during dinner time from 7.30 pm who sang great Hindi Bollywood Songs. I think the food became more delicious by hearing his melodious voice. The main market is just 500 metres from the resort which makes us easier to do shopping and later go to the room by walk as the taxi rates are higher. Overall, there was no negative point in our experience in Summit Swiss Heritage Resort, Darjeeling.

The hotel was just amazing. Summit Swiss was an exotic experience for us. During our stay everything was so beautifully taken care that we felt like a special guest. We were so warmly greeted & treated throughout our experience. We would like to thank Ms. Riya for smooth c/in &c/o managing all the odds with so much of care & concern for her beautiful idea of decorating room and candle light dinner for my anniversary with Nikita and Yankila who decorated the room . The candle light dinner was so amazing thanks to Aita and the team are the brilliant escort at the dining area . Again Riya for taking care of our entertainment and activities at the dining area specially song which he sang for us in his own language that was icings on the top. We felt on the moon. What an amazing hospitality & warmly feel during our stay. What a wonderful way to communicate with love.
I must say these people are very good asset of the hotel. To impress a hotelier, it very difficult in which they all passed by flying colours.
