The place is located in Kalej valley,Rangbull, about 10 kms away from Darjeeling. The resort is built in the midst of a tea estate which is functional from 1860s which is maintained by the local tea leaf pickes. The rainbow waterfall is also situated nearby and u will surely enjoy having your beer half submerged in the pool and enjoying the nature's paradise around you.

For the first time I travelled solo and Kalij valley, as it is popularly known, blew my mind away. I fell in love with this place at the very first sight. Though Rainbow valley resort is not the only accomodation here, it surely is the best. The famous Indrani Chhago or Rainbow falls is a 5 K.m walk from here. One must walk all the way down there to witness a rainbow formation over the falls. It is a wonderful sight to look at. Everything there was very nice, be it the staff, the food, the atmosphere.

Visited on 15th August 2019 with a group of 14 school friends (all aged about 51 years, friendship for last 45 years, since Class 1 in 1974). The place is about 5 km down from Rongbull bazaar, between Kurseong and Ghoom. Rainbow Valley Resort is owned by Mr Simon Rai, a well mannered gentleman supported by his wife. The resort is amidst tea garden overlooking green mountains. We saw even deers around the resort. The food and hospitality was awesome with the Rai family personally taking care of us. The season being monsoon, the whole area was covered with mist with occasional rains and clouds entering the rooms. We stayed there for 4 days with a day tour to Darjeeling. Will highly recommend this place for a short tour with friends and families.

Rongbull is a lesser known village near Darjeeling district. Just before Ghoom, on the way to Darjeeling you would come across a village market place called Rongbull Bazar. If you leave the highway and take to the dirt tracks, then a drive of another eight kilometres would take you to the famous tea gardens, valleys, waterfalls and endless stretches of blue mountains in the Himalayan foothills of Rongbull village. Though the roads are broken, but the view of the valley from the pathway is awesome. In every turns the nature is awaiting for you to showcase her beauty. In Rongbull, you can stay at Rainbow valley resort. The environment around this colourful resort is very relaxing and rejuvenating. The staffs are very courteous and the food in their restaurant is just awesome. The tariff of the rooms in this resort ranges from Rs. 1800 to 3200 (As per Feb, 2019).

Wanted to get off the monotonous routine for some time and finally ended up in Rainbow Valley Resort in Rongbull, just around 1.5 hrs drive from Darjeeling. The road to this place itself was so beautiful. The road is pretty rough, but in a way, it adds to the essence of this place. The resort itself is picturesque. The surrounding place is like a gift to mankind from mother nature. The wildness, virgin beauty is something that we crave for. The Rainbow waterfalls needs a bit of trekking, but once you reach the place, you realize its the beauty of the place that takes your breadth away, not the trek. The hanging bridge is another place that I found mesmerizing. The surrounding areas is also home to so many birds, and for someone who loves photography, this place is heaven. Coming back to the resort, be it cloudy or sunny, you will enjoy everything that nature has to offer here. The foods served are like home food and very tasty. The arrangements are very good. A big shout out to Mr. Simon Rai, who treats his customers as his guests and takes very good care of everyone. The car services offered by my newest friend Manoj Chhetri was very good. He is the most adorable and polite person I have come across in quite some time. A special mention for one of the staffs Anu Santhal, who was always available for his guests with a smile even if it was at 5.00 in the morning. The bar b que they prepared for us in the open space is probably the best I have had. Highly recommended. Do visit this place if you are a true nature lover.

If someone is looking for a tranquil holiday, this resort is just the place. We had been there this month along with friends and their families with 3 kids ranging from 5-8 years old. And apart from the road condition to the resort, there was absolutely nothing to complain about. We tool the duplex as well as one cottage. The rooms were professionally managed and hot water service was adequate. Mostly, the food package was a good one. They served us toast omelet for breakfast, egg meal for lunch and chicken meal for dinner. Even during the evening, one nice bonfire was set up and for snacks, chicken sausage fry and tea were served. Mr Simon is very helpful and a nice person. He pushed us to go for the morning Rainbow falls trek and we must thank him for that. Overall, I'll definitely go again. The only flip side is, we saw there was a swimming pool and we literally were waiting to jump in, but it was closed- water problem, maybe ... p.s: if you can afford and manage, go for the Duplex. It is huge with two toilets and is damn good.

i visied this resort in last september on my return from short office trip from Darjeeling. Though Rangbul is quite inaccesisible by public vechile and the connecting road is very bumpy , yet Rinbow resort is a naturist paradise nestled in the lap of darjeeling hills. Simon the proprietor is a simple man fond of ecotourism has designed this resort superbly. It is adjacent to Kalej valley tea estate and the fascinating mountain ranges amidst tea garden. Within 3 km is the famous rainbow falls which makes the resort important. Food was homecooked and good , so one can enjoy the hiils local cusine too. At night campfire was obvious making it a 10/10.

The way to the resort is bit tricky and far away from the Darjeeling city, but when you reach the resort it is worth coming. It is deep in the woods, a gem amidst the mountains. It is an awesome resort with great views. You won’t find any inch of garden or greenery without a beautiful plant or flowers. Sunrise from the room was awesome. Waking up listening to the birds chirping, gives a feeling of serenity. The staff was extremely courteous, very friendly and had a great service. Everything was excellent - The 180-degree view of the landscape, the food at the restaurant and the fireplace. Because of its well-maintained lawns, there is seating available right outside your room. There is a waterfall nearby where you can go via trekking. I strongly recommend it to everybody and would like to visit again someday. Pros – Beautiful Location and View. Nice flora and fauna. Bonfire. The staff was extremely courteous, polite, helping, friendly and had a great service. Food was excellent. Cons- No Networks on the phone. Tough to reach the resort, owing to lesser "Direction Boards" for the resort and steepy gravel hill road. No hospital / Medical store nearby
