Sinclair's Darjeeling hotel garners acclaim for its impeccable service and breathtaking Kanchenjunga views, with many travelers lauding the staff's professionalism and the well-kept rooms. Although the heater functionality and room size receive occasional criticism, the hotel's amenities and cleanliness are consistently praised.
While the steep access to its ideally situated locale near Mall Road may pose a challenge, the hotel's atmosphere is celebrated for its cozy charm. Opinions on value vary, with some guests finding the pricing reasonable and others perceiving it as overpriced.

Staying in a hotel during a pandemic can cause a lot of doubts. But once you book with Sinclairs you can enjoy your vacation to the full.
Starting with their pick up from the airport to dropping us off, sanitization was rigorously done. When you couple this with beautifully appointed rooms, brilliant food and a hospitality that leaves no room for complaint you can truly enjoy and de-stress while viewing Kanchenjunga from the privacy of your room.

We stayed here for 3 nights in Jan 2020 and overall it was a pleasant stay.
Location: The location of the hotel is fairly good as it is 3 - 4 minutes walking distance from the Mall, the tourist hub of Darjeeling. Though the approach road to hotel is a steep climb and might be bit tough for elderly people, view from the hotel is very good. On a day when the sky is clear, you would have an excellent view of the Kanchenjunga range, which is one of the star attractions of Darjeeling.
Rooms: Rooms are fairly spacious with nice interiors and all necessary amenities like TV, coffee maker, Study tables, Wardrobes, Cushion chairs and puffs. Some rooms have view of Kanchenjunga otherwise there is a common balcony on each floor which provides excellent view.
Restaurant: They have a well equipped multi cuisine restaurant. Food is very tasty and the staff very courteous and friendly. Since the occupancy of the hotel was low when we stayed, they didn't offer buffet breakfast but the choice given was wide and the quality of the breakfast was pretty good.
Service: The overall service standard of the hotel was very good and the staff was very courteous and always willing to help with a smile. Service was prompt and efficient.
The overall experience was very satisfying and I shall surely recommend this place.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
Had a very pleasant experience going there with my family, the view of the Kanchenjunga was pretty clear from their common balcony which they have on each floor and the food was on point. Most importantly their service was super and a big shout out to Suman, who is one of their most hardworking employee and literally the one running around most of the time.
But there were some hiccups that we faced.
Like, the wifi is pretty inconsistent and you will be irritated.
For room service, we were given a number to call but it was pretty hectic and we had to remind them constantly or go downstairs in person.
The "last mile" to their hotel has a pretty steep slope kinda road which is another issue if you're traveling with your family, cuz not everyone has a knack for hiking and might have some knee issues. So, it would be nice for the management of this place to keep someone or a small vehicle for that last mile, for it will be nice if we bring our parents next time otherwise we are going to opt-out.
lastly, I think the price of the rooms is a bit overrated.
Otherwise, the view of the Kanchenjunga is pretty dope from this place.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your review. Yes, we agree that the road leading to the hotel is steep as we are on an elevated plot of land. Being perched on the top is also an advantage because you get a wonderful view of the Kanchenjunga range. We are happy that you liked the variety of our food. We respectfully submit that our charges are in keeping with the price of similar hotels in Darjeeling. Please appreciate that logistic costs in these locations are high; however our endeavour is to always offer our guests best value for their money. We have noted your suggestion for a pick up and drop from the main road and will see whether it can be implemented. Guest feedback is an invaluable aid in our continuous endeavour to enhance customer experience. We look forward to hosting you again at Sinclairs Darjeeling or any of the seven other Sinclairs locations at Siliguri, Gangtok, Dooars, Kalimpong, Burdwan, Ooty and Port Blair.

(On behalf of my father in law)
My wife and I gone for a short break from the 17th of March to the 21st of March this year to Darjeeling. Being in the global hospitality industry for the last forty years.... I selected the Sinclairs Darjeeling. Trust me, made no mistake... which we experienced on reaching the venue. Starting from the homely welcome, with a cup of freshly brewed Darjeeling tea and hassle free check in formalities, we were guided to our neatly and tastefully decorated room with all essential amenities present.
Food and Beverage being my forte, I should say the hospitality at the restaurant was outstanding. Every dish was not only tastefully prepared but also served at the correct temperature with a smile. They even celebrated our Anniversary with a candle light dinner, decorated the table with balloons and rose petals. Room service and House keeping was impeccable and the scenic beauty of the Kanchenjunga from the large windows, made our stay so charming. Last but not the least the Operations Manager's eye for detail was clearly visible in the smooth functioning of the hotel. Mr. Pradip Ghosh

I had stayed in Sinclairs Darjeeling during January 2022 with my parents. The best thing about this hotel are it's location, food, and the view.
We were put up at a premium room which had one of the best views of Kangchenjunga from the bed itself. It was extremely cold outside, however, the room heater they had provided was more than sufficient. The staff are very helpful. The Darjeeling Mall is a 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. The food here is excellent, especially the dry chilly chicken and egg fried rice. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Although, I would suggest staying at the Kanchenjunga Suite which has a private balcony and a slightly better view of the mountains and the town. The hotel and it's staff maintained all the hygienic precautions required for COVID, they were wearing masks, hand sanitizers were kept at every corner of the hotel, the plates and water bottles were sanitized. They have provision for playing pool, they also have a library which has a good collection of books.
The only problem I came across was with the hot water. Although they have 24/7 running hot water, the geyser was probably not working properly because of which we had to wait for a long time before we actually got hot water in our room. And we had this problem almost everyday. Second thing is, if you are looking for a wheelchair accessible hotel, then this is not for you. Otherwise, if you don't mind climbing stairs then you'll love this hotel.
Overall, it was a great stay here and made this trip memorable for me and my parents.

Dear Sir, Thank you for writing us such a detailed review. We are delighted to know that you were able to enjoy lovely views of the Kanchenjunga Mountains from your room. We are sorry to hear about your experience with hot water in the bathroom. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Due to power fluctuation in the hills, sometimes these issues are beyond our control. My wife, Sumita, and me decided to escape from the hustle & bustle of Kolkata and spend a few days in the serenity of the Himalayas. We chose to stay at Sinclairs Darjeeling between 9th to 13th March.
We were very happy with our experience at the property. We found the hotel staff to be extremely helpful and courteous. I must mention here Pragya at the reception desk and Saraswati at the restaurant. They were always ready to help with a smiling face and were extremely efficient. Our room was nice, with all the necessary amenities/facilities. The room heater really came in handy during the nights. The complementary breakfast spread was quite exhaustive and catered to all tastes. The a-la-carte menu for lunch and dinner had plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options to spoil the diner for choice. Prior to our checkout, the front desk even got our flight boarding passes, baggage tags and health declaration forms (required at the airport) printed as a complimentary gesture.
However, if one has to mention a flipside, it would be the steep climb to the hotel, everytime we went out for a local trip or a casual stroll to The Mall. This climb truly tested our physical fitness and the capacity of our lungs.
To conclude, I must mention the breathtaking view of the majestic Kanchenjunga that the hotel viewing decks offer. On a clear day, just standing at the balcony (viewing deck) and gazing at the snow capped Kanchenjunga can be an experience of a lifetime.

We stayed at Sinclairs , Darjeeling from 15th to 19th November and were overwhelmed by their hospitality. We had booked a Premier room for our stay and it had a wonderful view of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Room decor is excellent with all necessary amenities. Also, one can have no complain regarding room service and cleanliness which are par excellence. The cordial behaviour of the hotel staff with an ever smiling face and their sincere efforts to satisfy every demand that we placed before them won our hearts and made us feel at home. Their in house restaurant named Kanchenjunga is definitely one of the best in Darjeeling. Every dish we tried was extremely delicious and the breakfast buffet spread was outstanding. The restaurant manager Mr. Anil and under his guidance, Ms Sabina and Mr. Sanjeev deserve special mention who took great care to fulfil every demand. Also, staff at the reception desk were very welcoming namely Ms Pragya and others. To be fair, every single staff of Sinclairs deserve mentioning. Check in and Check out were smooth and hassle free. We definitely will visit them again.

We chose the Kanchenjunga view suite for our 2 day honeymoon trip at Darjeeling. The room is very small compare to any room of this stature. The bathroom is also small and should have had a bathtub. The service was very good and quick, staff were very nice and polite, however given we visited during an off peak season, not sure how quick the services are during peak seasons. The Kanchenjunga view room has an excellent view of the full range of Kanchenjunga from the bed. There is no obstacles for the view so you get a very clear view of the mountains. The reception lobby is also very nice and gives you a very antique feeling. The road to the hotel is a bit inclined and is difficult to go by foot.

We spent two nights at Sinclairs, Darjelling. The hotel is centrally located and has a good view of the Kanchenjunga range. The staffs, especially Suman,Saraswati,Smriti and Sushma are friendly and extremely courteous. They made sure that we had a good time and put in extra effort to make our stay comfortable, especially when you have a baby. We ought to mention the food served at the restaurant by chef Umesh, it was delicious and well presented. The restaurant has a warm and cozy ambience.
The approach road to the hotel is uphill and will be difficult for elderly people to reach the hotel on foot.

Unfortunately they don't.
Premium rooms are quite good with all amenities available. Kanchenjunga room is on the terrace and is smaller in size and charges are quite high. Food is very well prepared and wholesome food is served. Price is also reasonable
