A small but a very well kept property next to The Mall in Darjeeling. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Food was very good and the ambience inside the restaurant was very good. Live Music was organized every evening which created a wonderful atmosphere. Special thanks to Resort Head Sabhyachi Mohanty for looking after us. His behaviour towards all the guests was very courteous and helpful. Wishing him and the Owners best of luck.
Our 4 days stay at Mayfair Darjeeling was an awesome & amazing experience. The maintenance of the said property was amazing. All the staffs were very polite and always ready to help proactively. Foods are good, rooms are very good.
Mayfair Darjeeling has to be one of the finest and most hospitable hotels across India! From the scarf tradition welcome to escorting us at check out, every bit of it was so warm and heartfelt. A space that's so well managed and maintained, quite literally felt like a home away from home. The staff and management, take a bow! They made sure to help and accommodate us in every which way possible. Kudos to Mr. Sabysachi, Mr. Rudolph, Mr. Bhuman and the Chef that served us! Absolutely loved the experience, and highly recommend everyone to go there at least once!
Awesome place, awesome ambiance, awesome food, awesome staff and services. We stayed here for 2 nights and booked two rooms, my family enjoyed a lot. So many activities to do here for kids i.e. Game zone, play area and many more.. They also arrange live music during dinner hours. Restaurant staff is also kind and polite with us as well as with kids, they serve whatever kids ask for. Spa facility is also excellent here which anyone must go for relaxation. Full marks in terms of everything.... Thank You all staff members..
Being in part a heritage property and comprising a jumble of disparate buldings crowded together on a steep hillside, we found the accomodation good enough but less spacious and generally less luxurious than at Mayfair's purpose-built properties where we stayed previously, namely in Gangtok and Siliguri. Not all rooms accessible by lift, some are very small, ours had a shower but no tub, no balcony, ugly view. And the dining room had a more crowded feel. That said, there are many good things to say. Some members of our group were up on the second level, accessible from the lobby only by two flights of stairs, and their rooms were small. Lucky for me reception staff saw me leaning on a walking stick and swiftly changed my room to 311 on the lobby level. This room was big enough to have a desk and sofa and plenty of storage. Small shower and toilet; no tub. Beware very, very hot water. Nice toileties. Tea/ coffee facilities, biscuits, plentiful supplies of drinking water. Everything clean. Iron and ironing board provided immediately on request. Poor soundproofing, unfortunately, but the bed was comfortable and we slept well enough. Excellent laundry service; husband's cream-coloured top was returned beautifully folded within 12 hours, curry stain expertly removed. We stayed on a half-board basis including buffet breakfast and dinner and found the food very good indeed. Breakfast eggs and dosas cooked to order. We would just have preferred it if breakfast could have started at 7 am not 7.30. As for dinner a great selection of veg and non-veg, Indian, Asian and continental, varying day by day. Delicious salad bar. Lovely soft breads prepared to order. Unbelievably good chocolate sponge pudding, black as night. For lunch we went a la carte, mainly light meals from an extensive menu, again Indian, Asian and continental. Nice chips, nice pasta. We possibly spent more time than we should have in the bar; it was rather expensive. Travel desk very helpful in arranging hotel cars to take us to/ from Darjeeling station for a ride on the DHR and back down to Bagdogra at the end of our stay. Location of hotel is excellent for tourists. Though there are no real views from the hotel itself there is a viewpoint only a short distance over the road from the main entrance (not that there was anything but rain-cloud at the beginning of May, unfortunately). Turning right it was only a few minutes level walk to The Mall, turning left would bring you fairly quickly to the entrance to the zoological park and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.…
