We had to book here for only a day as our trip in late May had changed and we managed to get a room here The hotel interiors, though compact, was nice. The room itself that we got was quite congested and could barely accommodate an extra bed! Could see room walls deteriorating and needing refubishment Staff were great! Compact restaurant was decent! Good views from hotel balcony. Location is a bit tricky to get to, especially if you dont have own vehicle - steep climb tires one out! Overall not a bad option in Darjeeling - there are a couple of other Summit hotels closer to the mall road though.

This beautiful boutique perched at one of the highest point of Darjeeling is in one word - a beauty. we were there for a night en route to Gangtok recently. Lovely well done up rooms, terraces from where one can see Kanchenzunga clearly on most days, terrific HK and F&B combines to provide a great comfortable stay from the hectic frenetic pace nowadays mostly observed in Darjeeling.

At very first,Hotel sales person misguide me about rooms. They provide a small smelly dirty backside room with no view in the name of luxury room and then we have to pay extra charges for room upgradation after check in hotel. Time of booking they said (even mentioned on website) free car parking. But in real, there are no space for car in hotel. We have to keep our car key on reception. They parked our car another place, which was not the hotel property, 10min walking distance, and you have to walk on high slope! We booked for 3 nights, but during this time period, no one asked if we need any room cleaning or something! On 3rd day, we request for room cleaning on 3pm. But they denied to do this. As we went for sightseeing, they told us why we not keep our room keys on reception! So, they can't clean. We asked to change blanket because we cant tolerate that dirty blanket anymore. Then someone giving us one single blanket! We are couple with a 4 yrs old kid! How can one family manage with a singe size blanket! They told they cant afford extra blanket. So we request to provide extra blanket cover. And assured them that they have to do nothing. We'll change the blanket cover! Then they provide that one! Now its time to review about food! Cant say that food was disgusting, but it was tasteless!!! . Menu was very limited! In meat, only chiken, for fish only bacha ( not basa) and for veg, aloo gobi/ aloo jeera! Never expected such bad tea on Darjeeling! Even roadside chawala makes much better tea! But after all these, rate chart is hifi! Their website, 15percent discount on food bill was clearly mentioned on the time of booking. But on check out time we surprised! They make bill with no discount! After argument, they gave that discount! They close their resturant on 9:30pm. So if you want to have your dinner on or after 9:30, you have to take it in your room! Not even that only, after 9:30pm, you will get nothing from hotel. Not even a glass of drinking water! After 9:30, if you call on intercom, if you go to reception, nothing can help you to get a glass of drinking water! Never expected such dirty bed and pillows ! Lastly insufficient water in toilets! First day, sufficient water was there in washroom. But from 2nd day, water problem start! We booked 2 suite room, and same condition in both room! Some one came 2/3times to fixed but nothing happened! Lastly, rooms are not safe if you visit with kids. Many ups and down in room and not proper light . Even not a single night lamp! Totally disgusting experience!

Summit Grace Hotel in Darjeeling is the worst hotel that I have ever seen in my whole life. After checking-in at the reception counter, the staff proudly said that they are giving us a “Deluxe” room with a “balcony”. Once we entered the room, we found a 2 ft x 2 ft open balcony full of bird droppings and, for that reason, stinking. There were piles of garbage in the corridor just outside that room. When we refused to stay in that room, we were given another “Deluxe” room which, they regretted, had no balcony! That second room had a foul smell because of which it would be impossible to stay inside the room for more than a few minutes. The furniture was either broken or in a dilapidated condition. The wooden frame of the bed had a visible large crack. There was a half-broken room heater under an equally dilapidated wooden table. The mattress on the wooden frame of the bed was ancient. The “Deluxe” type room that we had booked turned out, in reality, to be very small in size. When we checked-in, we realized that the images uploaded by the hotel are highly deceptive. In fact, the room was so small that not even two suitcases of the two guests could stand in one corner in that room. There was no lift and one had to climb up and down the steep staircase even for approaching the room from the entrance and the dining area. The distance between the hotel and the mall area, and the steep slope of the road, is such that, except for hikers, it is impossible to cover the distance by walking. The cab service charges a minimum of Rs.300/- each way (that is Rs.600/- in each round). Given the lack of cleanliness all around, we could not have eaten any food served by that hotel. There is also no decent (a subjective concept, of course, depending on one’s sense of health and hygiene) restaurant near the hotel. We decided to leave this hotel, irrespective of whether or not the hotel refund the amount that we had been charged already in advance for the planned three days of stay. With the help of the manager of a big hotel (that, unfortunately, had no vacant room), we got a decent room in a hotel near Raj Bhavan. We went back to Summit Grace Hotel just to pick up our luggage and leave immediately, never to look back again at that property. So, we did not stay for even one night in that hotel although we paid for three nights. The hotel refused refund citing the rules of online booking (we had booked through AGODA). We have suffered both mentally and financially; I hope no one else suffers the same.

It was really a great experience in summit grace ..it's really nice and a clean hotel . The suite rooms are brilliant with a cottage kind of feel . And big shout out to the staff . Especially the manager/incharge Mr.Dupden was really kind and was so cooperative with us through out our stay by giving us early check-in and made us so comfortable for all the 3 days we stayed there . He also helped us with transportation to visit few places around Darjeeling . And also chef Mr .Naveen was very kind to make us very tasty food.
