Surreal, divine, awsome, mesmerising!!! Navin Tamang's passion has turned his farm stay into a divine experience...I hr away from the hustles and bustles of the Darjeeling town lies a small village of Lebong, with beautiful flaura and fauna...and in it lies Tathagata, Navin's passion....in the middle of nature, you will get up to the sounds of birds, insects, roosters, sweet dogs called Simba, Cutie, Sindhu and Dali....the farm is divine, just stay there to experience the best of natural beauty, colorful butterflies, peach and avocado trees, tea and coffee plantations and beautiful natural trails and tracks... spend your time in watching the town and its flickering lights from your patio, sip Naveen's hand made first flush tea and filter coffee, sketch on your sketchbook, read your favorite novel, or just laze around....a great great place to unwind, relax, rejuvenate and find your self again.... We would recommend everyone to go and experience Tathagata Farm

The place is a short walk away from the road, but takes you into a different world. We stayed for only 2 nights but had some amazing experiences and memories created in this short time. The host, Navin is exceptional - he is friendly, knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to make his guests comfortable. Mornings in Tathagatha welcome you with the sounds of nature, sunshine breaking through amidst the lush green trees, birds cooing and hot chai. This is the perfect spot to do some meditation or Yoga. We spent the afternoons lazing around, taking a stroll, playing with Navin's dogs. And in the evenings - one day, we went to the nearby river. Navin accompanied us, and arranged for surprise snacks and drinks at the river - excelling at his host duties as usual :) The river has an area that is not too deep and there isn't a strong current. Swimming in the cold river water was simply refreshing. And we even did some fishing and caught a tiny one! The next evening, we chilled with locals, exchanged stories, played poker and other card games till late into the night. And to top it all, the food is pretty great. Everything is organic, locally sourced, and you can really feel it in your taste buds. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves nature. Its great for couples or a group of friends looking to get away for a short time.

Me and my couple of friends stayed in the farm during this new year. Let me start by saying that the location is surreal. Though it is 16 km away from darjeeling you will not miss staying away from the city. It is quiet and peaceful. The hosts Navin & Pravin along with the staff will make you feel so comfortable that you would not want to leave the place, a huge star to their hospitality. The food that they prepare is completely organic and mostly grown in their farm which has a beautiful taste in everything. One thing assured, I would be visiting this place more often.

This farm situated in mineral springs in Lebong is a cosy place hidden from the hustle and bustle of Darjeeling city. In the middle of tea plantation and greenery this place provides tranquility. The owner Navinji and his brother Pravinji take good care of the guests. The rooms are big, neat and bathroom spacious and clean. The room charge include breakfast and dinner . It was a nice stay but the food needs to be improved. Of course we don't go out to eat in lebong but the amount charged doesn't satisfy the food type served. Though the pandemic situation prevailed and staff was too less but when you accommodate guests the food should be served in proper quantity and properly. If you want to order lunch they charge 450 per person and seeing the kind of food we dared not order lunch. Anyway, besides food ,the rest of the property is good. Bathroom doesn't have hot water facility and they provide half bucket water. The vehicle will leave you on the main road, and the hotel boys take the luggage and the path down to the farm is stony way where you have to be very careful and for first timers it takes a bit time . One can enjoy a trek down to the stream a little away from the farm. But people with knee problem better not choose this property.

The resort owned by two brothers, Naveen and Praveen, is bound to attract you with its lush greenery. It's amidst a organic tea garden. Of course, we did not find it well kept (due to labour problems during COVID lock down). You can enjoy uninterrupted nature with lots of birds crowding the huge trees. However, height becomes a problem to photograph! Naveen is a perfect host with lots of energy. He took us to the riverside. He enjoyed fishing there while we adventured into the Ghate river. My only complaint about this place is "food". Breakfast never accompanied with any fruit during our three days stay. We were never asked if the quantity was enough or not. You are supposed to demand. It was awkward for us to ask repeatedly! I am not sure if it is the local custom. Tea was tasteless with smoky flavour! They cook in wood fire. That may be a reason. Only thing I liked was homemade bamboo pickle. Caution: You need to walk ~500 m downhill from road to reach your staying place. Old people and those with problems with walking may consider.

It’s a place you come for peace in the lap of nature. Accommodation is very basic, nothing fancy still spotlessly clean. Mr. Pravin, manager cum owner of the place, is a very nice person and his hospitality is unmatched. He arranged special dishes for us and overall food was very good. One has to walk down a bit from the main road through a trail. So, a word of caution for those with walking disabilities. One can get unobstructed views of Kanchenjunga by walking a little by the main road. Had a great stay there. Definitely will come back again.

Very sadly our flights from the UK were delayed so we arrived 2 days later than planned - Navin, the owner is amazingly accommodating and did his best to rearrange all our activities so we managed to do what we'd originally planned but in half the time. All the same I want to return to do them again without being in such a rush .... The farm has the best food in India (after staying at Tathagata we went to some of the top, most expensive restaurants in Calcutta and Tathagata Farm is better) - it's all 100% fresh and cooked in front of you. We were given a huge selection of delicious dishes brought to the table to share - no decisions to make, we were given what would normally amount to a whole menu. Different every day for every meal. The fabulous dishes keep on coming at both breakfast and dinner - and even lunch, if required. Navin could easily be a celebrity chef; there's a best seller cook book waiting to be written. If we had had longer, he would have given us a cooking demo/lesson. The activities are fab. The walks are amazing - we went to the border of Sikkim which took about 4 and a half hours and with quite a challenging uphill part, wonderful views, wonderful wild flowers even in December. When we got there the border patrol gave us lunch - very simple, cooked on gas stove but charming (normally lunch comes from over the bridge in Sikkim but the place was closed). We had to do a shortened version of the village walk but that would be incredible too - must return to finish it. The fishing trip is lovely - a lovely walk down to the river which is beautiful with lots of rocks so you can walk to the other side and lie on them while listening to the water flow and (in my case) watching the others fish. Very relaxing. December weather was T shirts in the middle of the day, especially when walking, and cold at night. Before and after dinner we sat round the blazing camp fire playing charades - take lots of layers for the evening and definitely pyjamas for bed! The rooms are very clean and have all you need. Simple and basic but perfect. Taking a shower with a bucket of nearly boiling water is an invigorating experience, very quick and certainly warms you up. Navin is a generous host, a natural storyteller and mine of information. He will accommodate you in whatever you want to do. The tea tasting was super informative.... I cannot recommend Tathagata farm highly enough.

This is a hidden gem in the middle of the jungle. feels like heaven once you reach there. Road is pretty steep and advised not to do a self-drive. The farm owners are very friendly and helpful and they will arrange a pick-up (at cost) through their regular cab drivers network who are expert in driving in this roads. Also GPS stops working from almost 10 kms ahead so ensure that you reach there early during the day. Great rooms and super arrangement.

We had a lovely time at this fine farm; We never felt that we would come to harm! A tea estate down in a valley, From B'dogra Airport you must rally! By driving through the mountain mists And down again with twist on twist. You wake up to the sound of birds And foggy vistas clouding words. A tray of tea and lounging chair A lowing cow without a care. Now we know it's the Gurkhas who Possess the fabled Xanadu!
