#19 of 248 in Darjeeling

Villa Everest was built in 1904 and is located at 1 A.J.C. Bose Road, Darjeeling, which was then known as Auckland Road during the British Raj. The property belonged to the former mayor of Kolkata, Shri Kamal Kumar Basu, who sold the property to us in the year 2007.

This building has been carefully reinforced and the basic layout of the building has been retained. We have added one floor to the structure that has the Attic Rooms.

This establishment is a 11 room family run hotel that offers a comfortable stay. To get in touch with the latest all rooms are fitted with LCD TVs with cable connection and also have Free Wi-Fi connectivity in all rooms. So while on vacation at Darjeeling, Villa Everest offers rooms that are comfortable, decent and well equipped with views of the Singalila Range and of Mt. Kanchendzonga from every room.

Beautiful hotel with a gorgeous view of mountains. The rooms are very neat and clean. They really take care of hygiene. The food was really awesome. They always cook as per our customisation and less oil. All the staffs are very well mannered. If visit Darjeeling for next time we will definitely choose this hotel without a second thought. Best hotel in Darjeeling with best view at a low price. The location a little way from mall. (5- 10 min walking distance from Keventer's)

A nice quaint budget hotel at a slightly uphill place. Very clean and decently maintained and just because there are few rooms it makes even more manageable . Then breakfast is very simple with no options but they make your stay every bit comfortable . The rooms are big and the wooden interiors make the stay spirited . With the sub zero like temperatures only the heating inside the room needs to be modulated as the room heather , thermo bed cushion and the blankets aren’t enough! Yes they need to have a serious look to their kitchen team as the food they serve needs to be worked upon !

Villa Everest offers very nice service. The food is quite tasty (we had chili chikn). Safe for girls. Rooms were very nice and sanitized properly. We even got heater which literally saved us. The view from hotel was amazing. Kanchenjunga was visible. 15 mins. Of brisk walk from Keventer's. The day we were returning they even packed sandwich for us even though their kitchen was closed which is really thoughtful.

We chose to leave from Gleneagle's and found this cute little property while walking around darjeeling. Yes they have parking for 2 to 3 cars and has the sweetest staff. If you think you want 5 star trained staff, then this place is not for you. If you want good service and clear communication friendly staff, then this place is perfect. The rooms are clean, functional, and well appointed. Don't expect the works, as the price per rooms is just affordable, a warm bath, good food, and a good night sleep is all that comes in the package, not to forget the parking ! Its a beautiful property, honest staff, simple and superb! LOVED IT !!!

We travelled with family with kids and have stayed three nights in November'20. Check-in was very professional during Covid days and our luggage was thoroughly sanitized. They have automated sanitizer dispenser at the main entrance. We were alloted top floor rooms with great view. Food was homely and tasty. We tried both Indian & Continental and both were equally good. They provided heated blanket and room heater at no extra cost. Big geyser in Bathroom with shower panel was really very helpful. The only issue may be that the main gate & Kitchen are closed at 8:30 PM and literally hotel service goes completely off by that time. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Me and my Wife stay in this FAMILY RUN VILLA (Boutique Hotel) at least 2-3 times in a YEAR for a duration of 15-21 days each time. This is a Family RUN Boutique hotel like you find in Lucerne,Switzerland or innsbruk in Austria or elsewhere in US. One needs to be careful about their required necessities, Priorities and abilities before selecting any hotel. we stay here like a family member and are being looked after with utmost CARE and our EVERY possible Needs were met cordially and promptly. 120-140 metres of WALK to KEVENTER'S from the Villa is a PLEASURE to us.we are again going this 23rd MAY '21 for 15-28 days (If LOCKDOWN). Every individual working in this Villa are FINE Human Being who always helped us in every aspect. The Owners are Exceptinal Couple with their classy Touch in every Corner. we give them 5 STARS in Hospitality. Please come and Live their in a totally Family atmosphere.HOME AWAY FROM HOME in true Sense.

We, a total of 5 adult and 1 child stayed at this property from 31st march to 3rd April 2021. We have choosen this hotel based on reviews in this site only. But this time the reviews guided us totally in wrong direction. We choose this hotel as it was written that it is very near to mall. But i want to be very very specific this is quite far from mall or any other facilities and every time you need to go out you have to spend at least Rs 200-300 for cab fare. There are pros and cons of this hotel First the pros: Cleanliness and the quality of food. Both are very good, no doubt. Cons: First the location, as i already said quite far from mall and nearby there is nothing , no restuarant at all. Secondly a very rude behavior of the hotel owner, Mr. Rai, which was quite a shock to us. Thirdly, the attitude of the front desk people - for almost everything you will ask there is a straight ans from them is - sorry, we cant. Fourthly and most importantly - the hotel become totally non-operational after 8.00 pm. Even the front desk get closed. You have to place your dinner order by 6 pm, which is very odd, because most of the time you will not be at hotel by 6 pm. After all you are there for travelling, not to sit at hotel. One night we had placed our dinner order. We got the food on time but to our surprise some of the items were missing an one was totally different. When we said to provide us the items we have ordered for they simply said 'sorry kitchen is closed and nothing can be done'...............i have never heard such a lame excuse in any hotel earlier and i am a frequent traveller. Since there was no restuarant in the near vicinity, some of us had to spent the night hungry. They didnot have any repentance for the same. That's why this is a caution towards people with family, senior citizens etc.......please do not choose this hotel. You may not even get simple medicine after 8 PM, IF YOU REQUIRE.

It was my 4th time in this hotel, since 2015. Like before, which I love more about this hotel are- 1) Cleanness. 2) quality of food. Specially i want to mention the breakfast items- which is in their CP plan. A big 5 star for that. I also thanks the kitchen staffs for this. 3) in this covid situation, i noticed their effort of sanitization. 4) well maintained property. 5) view from the room. Cons:- 1) hotel position. A little distance from mall.
