The Sanderling Resort was truly, among other things, a vacationer’s paradise where I was pampered and indulged amidst elegance and unfettered beauty. From the luxurious sheets, heavenly mattress, relaxing, over-sized shower to the mesmerizing roar of the Atlantic, tranquil sunsets, and culinary treasures. The food at the Life Saving Station was authentically divine, fresh and local with a creative southern flair, while the spa was a place of tranquility where you could decompress and invigorate your body, mind and spirit. The Beach house was homey and cozy with smiling, friendly faces everywhere. The property was steeped in historic glory, and I can’t wait to return.
Please think twice before booking this property because the LIMITED ACCESS TO HOT WATER in the Bathroom. A chilling hill station like Darjeeling in November and you are denied hot water round the clock in your bathroom is unacceptable. Apart from Hot Water issue, the behaviour of the security staffs are also very unprofessional.
Hotel is very close to market, close to tourists attractions. We booked suites and deluxe rooms both rooms very comfortable, clean, service is good, bathrooms water is hot and very spacious rooms, big bed, extra bed if you need. All good. Specially thanks to Poppu Roy who work there as all rounder. During Our stay we noticed how hard working he is. He is made us comfortable, quick services and helpful. List not last Thanks to security Dai also all of them very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place who want to have relaxing holiday and close to everything. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent room, nice view from window.Walkable distance from mall road. Humble staff, provided breakfast even after 10:30 am even after it was wrapped up. Excellent breakfast and dinner experience. Provides buffet as well as room service. Very humble staff, I met with. Only drawback is availability of hot water is for limited time. heaters, tea kettle and tea & coffee kits are available in rooms. A very memorable stay.
Pros: 10 min away from mall road, 2 min away from taxi stand, spacious rooms, friendly staff, elevator which are difficult to find in Darjeeling hotels Cons: Restaurant menu did not change for 3 days, limited to same number of dishes. Very limited options for breakfast buffet considering they charged 350/- per breakfast. Unreliable wifi, gets switched off at night. TV connection was intermittent with only free channels available. Lukewarm water in bathrooms only from 7 AM - 11AM and 7 PM to 11 PM We almost missed our flight due to delayed checkout as there was no one in reception at 7AM and POS machine was not working, finally we had to somehow pool in all the cash we had to be able to checkout. (they did not allow us to settle the bill previous night). there is a party hall in ground floor from which loud thumping music was heard even inside 4th floor rooms till night 9 PM. On one of the nights there was a power outage and entire hotel was in pitch darkness from 12.00 AM till sunrise (4.30AM). considering this is a 4star hotel we expected some basic power backup.…
Over all hotel is good. Little inside and away from city centre point. Around 8-10 minutes walk from Mall road/Chauraha. Food is average to good. Staff is very good and co-operative. Service quality good. Parking available. Location wise quite and peace. Cleanliness - Good.
This place does not deserve to be called a 4 star or a resort! Lack of basic amenities like Electricity and Hot water! Food variety was average! Washrooms were the worst. No toiletries or hand dryer which is a basic facility in even a 2 star place! Staff was not cooperative except the restaurant. Location is good. 10 mins walk from the Mall
The hotel is situated conveniently close to the Chowrasta/Mall Road and opposite the famous Gymkhana Club. The rooms are spacious and clean. We stayed for a couple of nights but did not have any food so can't comment about it but they do serve only vegetarian food. They are currently following Covid specific protocols and the common areas are cleaned regularly. The staff are cooperative and helpful. They have a parking space as well. Overall we had a pleasant stay and the hotel is highly recommended.
A good property to stay near Bhanu Chowk. Rooms were decent but view from few rooms was not great. Good Points: - the car reaches the hotel. they also have parking facility - Very Good Location - Pure Veg Kitchen and very tasty food - Very Neat and Clean - Very Courteous and Polite staff. I am very much thankful to Mr. Chandan & Team at the front Desk for amazing individual attention and Manish Thappa and team in the Kitchen for serving me and my family with the best he could. Point for Improvement: - There can be a kids play area with a few toys - Food Menu must be elaborated. local veg dishes must be added - Hot Water supply should be for 24 hours a day since its a cold place - the approach road must be well lit up Overall, a good stay
It’s among the few hotels that have a parking. We enjoyed our stay, had taken two rooms. The only drawback I felt was that you won’t get hot water all through out the day. Two hours in the morning and three hours at night. We visited in December, when the temperature was low. And we somewhat would have needed the hot water. Otherwise, the hotel is lovely, at the top of the Mall Road, just opposite Gymkhana club.
