The old Bellevue combines the elegance of old world hospitality and suave charm. It's more of a residency & less of a hotel run as a Tibetan family venture. You have spacious rooms opening up to the mall and the promenade. Panelled in warm juniper and pine with polished wooden floors, the best part is the attic. While log fires can warm up in extreme winter, you can witness the nuances of life pass by from the roof and attic. The tea rooms, Oxford bookstore, the tourists in jumpers on ponies. Your stay could be memorable and you can just walk downhill to Lebong, the Tibetan quarters, Governor House or climb uphill towards the Roy Villa, Jalapahar or North point. The upper reaches or chowrasta are equally accessible. And the best part is you can go for long walks to the secluded areas atop Clubside or behind Bhanu Bhavan.…
Rooms having good view. Do not take a room behind the pineridge hotel. Take the home left side of the hotel. Rooms are not maintained properly. Wash basin was not in good condition. The geyser sometimes not functioning well. Again the view and locaiton is good. It is right on the mall. In a clear morning you can see the picks also
Location was good.left the keys for room service.some of my things got stolen.the shocking thing is when confronted to the owner they try to threat us.the story that bell boy told and owner told are totally different. They totally defend there staffs and really misbehaved with us.hotel challet or revolver will be a better option.other thing is car is not allowed in this area. So you have to carry your own luggage.or have to pay hotel staffs hundred rupees like we did.they did not provide any room heater and rooms are very chilling.atleast i locked my electronics things in the luggage otherwise my monetary loss will be more.
We stayed at the King's room in Old Bellevue between 28 April-2 May 2018 in Darjeeling. We are extremely disappointed by the hotel. The reasons are given below: 1. ZERO service- no staff is available during most of the times. 2. ZERO security- most of the times the reception is unattended and often several outsiders stay in the lobby, drink liquor and play music. 3. The manager Mr Paul cannot be seen during almost of the times. His superior Mr John is extremely rude. When I told him that for checking out I was waiting for Mr Paul to settle the dues for 30 minutes , he simply said 'Why didnt you call him? You have yourself wasted your time.' 4. We stayed for 4 days and no out cleaning was done on even one of these days. 5. The biggest problem I faced was while checking out when lthe hotel simply told that they will not accept card and they need to be paid in cash. All the ATM's of Darjeeling were out of service and I had to walk almost 4 km up and down to find an ATM to give the cash. This is completely against what was written in the booking confirmation email which said tariff could be paid in credit cards. On top of that I got this ultra rude behaviour from John. 6. The deal mentioned complimentary breakfast is included but they didnt provide it beyond 1 day and that too it was given extremely late. We had to argue for reducing final bill accordingly. 7. The entire path leading to the hotel is dark and is very risky as it rains frequently in Darjeeling. Its also on a considerable raised ground. Overall, I think the owners have lost interest in running this hotel properly. I would strongly recommend you to avoid this hotel.…
The main attraction of this property is its prime location. Situated at the darjeeling chowrasta just overlooking the mall. The staffs are well behaved and courteous. the bathroom is clean, and despite the warning( of scarcity of water in the hills), running water is available across 24 hrs. The main switches of the geysers in the bathroom are controlled at the main reception counter, and they switched it on, whenever requested. A nice choice for the people who is planning a trip with family. They do not have a restaurant, only tea is served in the rooms if requested.
Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms. Location of the Hotel is excellent, just few meters from Mall. Rooms are spacious, well maintained wooden flooring with 24 hrs running hot and cold water and have a good view of the mountains. No in-house restaurant but you can ask them to bring food from outside. The staffs are really friendly, helpful and polite. Thanks Mr. John for your great hospitality.
Excellent location. Nice view of Mall and Mt. Kanchendzonga. Everything is well accessed from this hotel. Situated within 5 mins of walk from the taxi stand. Mall is just within few meters from the Hotel. Hot water always available. Although we hard that the service is not that good but we did experience average service. View from most of the rooms are very nice. Not much happy with blankets as those were not looking very clean. Currently no in house dinning facility is available in this hotel. Although they bring food on order from outside without extra charge. But they mainly bring foods from a specific restaurant and provide only those food available in that restaurant. But overall we were happy and had a very good stay for two days in this hotel.
Just opposite to glenerys. Ur morning will start by listening to some famous hindi tracks in nepali style. Rooms are big. Toilets are clean and renovated. Had a pleasant stay. No resturant, but kfc is just below the hotel. Glenerys is just the opposite of hotel. The manager is very helpful and cordial.
Excellent location. Excellent view.Everything is just within 5 minutes walk. Hot water always available. But the service was not satisfactory. They didnt provide fresh water. I suspect those were tap water. We were in a double room but two single beds were just kept together. Also pillow cover, mattress everything was not looking fresh. I found hair on the pillows. -_- . I asked them and they changed them but still not something i would call fresh and clean.
