It's truly a 'home away home' if you are with your family, staying at 'Darjeeling Heights' homestay. I am speechless while writing this review. Words of Mr Sudarshan (point of contact over phone for booking 'Darjeeling Heights') turns absolutely true as soon as I enter into the room. What a spectacular view through big glass windows! It's 'sleeping Buddha', Kanchenjunga with a whole range of mountains and the ' queen of hill' Darjeeling beneath. Wow! just amazing. Spacious and well-lit room having large comfortable bed for 2 with switch-controlled heating sleeping mattress and an attached clean washroom with gyeaser made our stay cozy. Breakfast was complimentary with our lodging package. Food was homely. Lunch and dinner 'thali' were no exception. The taste of food is same like people of that place - simple and lovely. A big thank to the cook. I am sorry, I don't know the name. But, I know Nikita, a bright young well behaved lady with an everlasting smiling face, always ready to run around to make your stay memorable. The homestay is far from the busy, crowded ' Mall' road but well connected with share cars (Sudarshan can arrange it). There are rooms at the groud floor as well as on the first. That means, without having to take any stairs, 'Darjeeling Heights' is ready to serve you if you are planning to take your old parent to high altitude. Mr Sudarshan is just a call away to make your stay pleasant and peaceful in Darjeeling. I can vouch that he will not disappoint you. N.B. It will be a sin if I don't acknowledge Mr Praveen (7001838430). Trust me, he was not a part of package shared by Mr Sudarshan. I got to know about him from one of my friends who travelled with Praveen, a month back. Praveen is a young charming man. He is comfortable both in Hindi, English (Surprisingly, can understand Bengali!!). If you are looking for a safe, sincere and punctual 'chaeffuer' during your trip to Darjeeling, just give him a call.

Excellent stay at Darjeeling Heights. Overseeing the sleeping buddha, the homestay has a 180 degree view of the hills and city below. The reason for such a view is also its location at a relatively upper region of the hill amidst the residential area. The room with attached washroom is clean, tidy and well lit. The family room is spacious, with two beds for 4 persons. You could warm up the sleeping matress electrically, as per your need, which proved to be very useful given the chill weather. The hospitality and behaviour of the staffs are exceptional. The food , both veg and non veg, are tasty and homely. Our point of contact was, Mr. Sudharshan, who is honest, helpful and considerate. Special mention, Nikita, she is very amiable, always on her toes helping guests. I would strongly recommend a stay here. The homestay is bit away from the Darjeeling mall, Chawk bazar or the busy main road which makes the stay peaceful and pleasant. Extra: For those who are also looking for a polite, honest, punctual, jolly, responsible and skillful driver for sightseeing and pickup drop, you can contact Mr. Praveen (contact: 7001838430, hoping that the number wouldn't change anytime soon). A friend of mine recommended him, and we are truly pleased traveling with him from NJP to Darjeeling and back, also for the Darjeeling sightseeing.

Location is unique at the top of Jalapahar. Kanchanjunga range and the whole of Darjeeling city can be seen from the sitting room windows and rooftop. We have got two rooms, 4 and 5, which are the best. But the hand fosset of the toilet of Room 4 was broken and water flooded the floor continuously. Still, I am giving five star for their matchless behaviour, attention and quality of home cooked food.
