Tieedi Dwellings is our humble endeavour to rediscover our connect with nature. We have handcrafted a few abodes in our forest garden by working with the local artisans and applying the regenerative principles of permaculture. It is a blend of the age-old tradition of earth houses using local resources with the comforts and amenities of a holiday home. It is offbeat and may not be for everyone but if you believe that connecting with nature is a nourishment for your soul, this is the place for you. Also, you may find the place as a melting pot of creators from different walks of life who are fighting for "pure air, fresh water and rich soil for all beings". Good space, Good food and good people make a recipe for great conversations over evening bonfire.
TIEEDI Dwellings is straight out of a fantasy novel. Located on the busy Hill Cart Rd, it has the most unsuspecting entrance. However once inside you are greeted with dense, lush greenery.
The stay is in the middle of a forest with a seasonal gurgling stream flowing by. Air Dwelling 1 (where I resided) is a colourfully done up cottage. While you wake up to the chirping of birds, you drift off to a nightly slumber under a starlit sky while gazing at the moon... courtesy the glass facade all around.
The food is as local & as varied it can get, the cuisine replete with seasonal veggies, millets, pickles & preserves, all served with loads of love.
The people are warm & treat guests like family spontaneously. The way they have managed their waste & are now helping neighbouring communities tackle the problem of waste is truly commendable & a model worth replicating.
Highly recommended for nature lovers & environmentally conscious travellers!

We decided to go on a short vacation to the hills. We took a car and enjoyed the drive from Kolkata to Raigunj took a break and then next morning it was a long drive to the hills. We had seen the photograph of this resort in the internet and immediately our destination was final. TIDEE a eco resort cum homestay far from the hustle bustle. It was nature and its serenity which attracted us. When we reached Tidee a small gate on the turning of the road just a little more than 11 kms from Kurseong Tourist Lodge...very unassuming entrance which would reduce all expectations. But as soon as we entered it was a warm traditional welcome. The lovely kitchen and restaurant so aesthetically decorated that it made us feel at home. A perfect eco friendly homestay. The small garden at the entrance and the fantastic collection of succulents and flowers in pots stole our hearts away. We were still wondering where are the beautiful huts that we had seen on the internet while we booked Tidee.....to our surprise it was much more than we had expected. The stairs made out of stones and small boulders led us to the forest down the hill. As we were progressing the forest feel was getting more and more intense and we were overwhelmed. The staff was so friendly rather the Tidee family was full of warmth and it immediately made us their family member. The Air Dwelling A was a heaven on earth. The bed and decor of the room was so vibrant and tastefully done. So rustic yet so ethnic and contemporary. Everything around was so eco friendly that it looked like a separate world altogether where there is no space for pretention or fake emotions. If you want to connect to youself and with nature Tidee is the best place to stay in the hills. We would like to thank each and every person of our Tidee family. Utsow, Zaosh, Chhaya and Rakhi Didi. How can we forget the dogs 'Chungi' (Black Labrador) who showed us our way to the cottage in the dark at night and cute little Matoo who hovered around us. Cleanliness is next to Godliness and one can feel this when you are at Tidee. Susmita Basu Majumdar Sayantani Pal and Saikat Banerjee Kolkata

Based on permaculture, its a sustainable homestay where everything is done keeping our mother nature in mind.. A very good initiative and i liked the idea behind.. If you are looking for luxury stay, then avoid this place.. The rooms are very basic and you have to hike for 10 to 15 mins before reaching your room.. But the experience of sleeping in the lap of mother nature is unforgettable.. The sound of waterfall from beside our room was very pleasing to hear..

If you are looking for a space that’s surrounded by mist, fortified by chirp infused silence, crisscrossed by ever murmuring rivulets, and incensed by a mossy canopy of lush treetops Tieedi is the right place for you! It’s near Sonada and on the main road to Darjeeling, but you won’t believe what peace and warmth this place is holding in its chest for you! It boasts a healthy pack of loving and confident canines who would embrace you wholeheartedly as soon as you arrive; the people on the space are equally wise and warm: we instantly connected with them. In each morsel of food we consumed at Tieedi had the same love and care that went into organically producing the raw ingredients (at this place itself!) The space has a policy against plastic and the people here practise what they preach, a policy which we welcomed and took home as a precious piece of education! Thanx Tieedi for the wonderful days you have given us..hope to see you soon! Love❤

I feel 2.5 days is too short a time to soak in the ambiance of a place like Tieedi and the surrounding areas. I visited on the recommendation of a friend and it was a short but refreshing break with many memories to cherish. Sourabh and Utsow da are wonderful hosts and make you feel at home. Rehman bhai, Upasana and Aruna aunty cooked the most delicious meals from exotic local vegetables grown organically. The nepali thali specially is amazing and not to be missed. As a solo traveller, I found lots of time to connect with the natural beauty around me as well as with the other volunteers and the local people. The quaint in house cafe is a haven for book and tea lovers and I looked forward to spending some time there daily. They also stock an amazing selection of home made items like peanut butters, pickles and preserves and I'm hoping the magic pencils with seeds inside them will help me grow my own veggies! The whole property in fact is studded with nooks and corners where you can lose yourself in the silence and serenity of the surrounding forest. It's an ideal place for disconnecting with gadgets and connecting with oneself. The trek up the mountain with a local guide was the highlight for me and I would love to experience it again. And the work which they are doing to preserve the environment with a zero waste policy and some exciting projects in the offing is indeed commendable. Am specially looking forward to the opening of the forest library :)
Would love to visit again for a longer stay. Thanks to the entire Tieedi team for making my stay so memorable. And last but not the least, Chungi and especially Coco who accompanied me on all my walks and treks are being missed a lot!

If there is a place you ever decide to go to, then let it be this one. No matter what phase of life you are in, a little bit of tieedi will do you so much good. It’s a little miracle in the forest waiting to enchant you. I wrote a little poem to put into words how truly heart warming my experience was and I am sure you will leave there feeling ever so poetic too !
A place between two worlds
To feel a sense of belonging, in a way which isn’t rational, it’s unfamiliar and poetic. To know nothing of a place while at the same time feel like you know everything about it. Every day feels brand new. Wanting to jump out of your warm cozy bed at the break of dawn, to feel no exhaustion after being tired for so long, like an energy with a source unknown. To not tire of the food you eat, to sleeping a dreamless sleep. Flowing through these moments, brimming with possibilities, you find yourself become the need of a tiny little thing who needs some sleep, a tummy full of food and a heart full of love meet in the forest and find what’s enough. They dance in circles and sing little riddles. Saving each other in hugs, kisses and miracles.
It’s a place where you find what you are looking for, even if it’s unknown to you, it will find from the depths of your swirling mind, not want you want but what you need. It may come as a surprise but do accept for it knows you better than your best.
And in the end when you have what you need it will send you home with what to keep, and when you’re back safe and warm, You will think of a home away from home. You’ll long to find that place again walking under the shadow of trees, sunlight peeking, singing streams, chirping birds, swaying breeze, walking up sloping stones, and as the trees part the sun will shine, the path will lead to where you found A breath of fresh air, the warmth of care, of a loving home with a family of folks who smile and dance with furry friends, fruits & flowers, swinging hens and the hermit who lives to tell his tales of jungles and mountains and shamans and more, most are true and while some are you know….. ;) But like a tree he grounds himself takes the dark and makes it bright. His place is a place between your two worlds, you come as one and leave as whole. The Forest garden will live on to change the world for those who want, it will be there when you need to come and find yourself all over again.

The stay in Tieedi was one of it's kind and amazing. The sound healing workshop was something which took me to a different zone. This is a place everyone should visit. Tieedi is the best place with the best experience one could possibly have had... It filled my heart with a feeling that just cannot be explained in these mere words. From dreaming to experiencing the beauty within the heart of nature was such a deep and beautiful feeling!!! One should really come to Tieedi for such a worldly experience and if you are a nature lover, then what are you waiting for? The 2 days spent in Tieedi will always be my cherished memories of all times. At one moment it felt as if I just wanted to stay here and not return back home! Of course not possible, but if it would be then you are my home Tieedi. Starting from the behaviour and the warm welcoming nature of the Staff members, then sharing such a beautiful and detailed overview of the place, the environment was truly amazing. Moreover they had no annoyance when they were speaking or whenever I asked something like a query to them - appreciated and commendable. I also brought along with me some Organic Products which I feel are truly organic and a special mention to Upasana who packed them for me and took care of everything possible! Thank you Tieedi, you are just the best! Will surely visit you again!

I don't think any therapy could have done what tieedi did for me.I wanted to go to a non commercial off beat place for my vacation. This place has so much to offer to everyone and anyone who comes here. Serendipity is what it was for me.Everything is so unconventional. A fresh breath of air and unconditional affection is what best describes the experience. The air dwelling and earthy dwellings are masterpieces and they took me to my childhood days with my grandmother.I came here to stay for two days but ended up spending my entire vacation of twenty days here. The ideas of reviving and connecting with nature through permaculture principles has been implemented beautifully . I got the opportunity to volunteer as well. It's the best way to understand the farm, it's working principles and bond with other volunteers.A lot of activities are well planned by team tieedi. The evenings are full of stories, discussions, music, fun, laughter and good food. It encompasses the essence of real celebration of life with nature. You make friends for life. Being a reading enthusiast it was the perfect place for me, I could choose my reading corners from across the farm.It was home for me. The love, the affection, the joy is something I can't express in words. Great job Team Tieedi.I cannot wait to be back.
Much Love Gunjan

TIEEDI isn't just a place, it is an experience, a feeling, and an opportunity.
When I came here, I was only looking for place to eat and sleep in. Instead, Utsow provided me with a home, members of which treated me like family. I planned to stay for 2-3 days but ended up spending more than 2 incredible weeks here. There is so much one can learn here about nature and themselves in it. You can volunteer to work with them and find joy in the simplicity of the life here.
The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The food is delicious, made with love and always leaves you wanting for more. The pets are the spirit of the place, warm and friendly. I could go on and on.
To fellow travelers, artists, and beautiful souls reading this - please do stop by and discover this serene forest treasure yourself.
Love and peace y'all!

Hi, Due to the Covid-19 situation, we are unable to confirm bookings as of now. Kindly, check with us once again after a month and we will be able to update you. Thank you.
Hi Soumya,
Mid Feb is a good time to witness the last of the clear skies in the horizon.
It will be cold but not as cold as January.
We provide hot electric blankets in the beds and angheeti's in the rooms.
Hi,
Yes, February is a good time. Winters would be waving us goodbye and warm sunny days would be the harbinger of spring in Darjeeling.
If you are able to walk about 200 stairs down a forest pathway then we recommend booking Earthy Dwelling or the Air Dwelling. However, if you prefer less walking then you can book the Herb Garden Dwelling.
Feel free to reach out to us at 8250612067 if you need any clarifications. :)
There are more places to choose from in the Darjeeling area.
