This homestay is located right in the lap of nature where river Srikhola,the mountains, the greenery everything coexist. The river bank looks mesmerizing from the homestay and you can even hear the sound of the river from the room inside. Altogether, nature has a lot to offer you , if you stay at this homestay. However I personally feel there is room for improving hospitality. It's something that helps you to get connected with the place as well. We arrived around 6:15pm at the homestay, given the poor road conditions and casual attitude of the driver as well. The shared cab was arranged by the homestay itself. On the way, we often found the driver going out of the car without intimating us and disappearing as well or just having a chat when it was already getting dark. Both of us were females and didn't find it safe enough to travel like this. We shared our experience with the owner and he got into some defensive mode like there's no point in complaining, whom will you complain, it's all like this here. Honestly we didn't like this attitude. Atleast he could have been patient enough to listen to us. Moreover we had our food package starting from lunch the same day and paid the bill accordingly. He clearly mentioned after arriving that 6pm in the evening is quite an early time to arrive if we start at 12pm ( which he already knew). If so then I believe he should have informed us earlier to take the food package from evening. No adjustments were however made. Anyways, thanks to the beauty of nature there to make us feel good.…

This is my second visit to this destination with a long gap of sixteen years in between. This place has remained the same in terms of serenity with remarkable improvement in road connectivity and other amenities. We spent two days in peaceful and cosy environment of Hotel Sovraj, Srikhola and really enjoyed the cordial behaviour of the host, Mr. Sengupta and his family.

I spent two nights there, camping in the garden. Got very useful tips about hiking nearby and enjoyed time spent with the owner, he is a nice person. Good place to have some quiet time with family and enjoy nature. Food was very good too.

Few tourists don't understand the value of their own and their loving ones and the value of the beautiful nature where they came to visit and they write unnecessary stupid reviews to give witness that they are worthless people of this world because they don't understand the value of the safety present days. Although Shubhashish and his family take care of their guests in their homestay come hotel at Hotel Shovraj Sirikhola as their own family members and trying to help their guests in every angle including their safety and security to make their valuable visit more enjoyable with safety. Trespassing is a crime and criminals always ready to do anything to fulfil their motive so if there is a board out side the property in the middle of the jungle where no one come to protect Sengupta family and their borders except the owner Shubhashish and his family with their licenced weapons and they can take any steps to protect themselves and their hotel guests, so there is nothing wrong to give warning to the criminals in advance to display this "No Trespassing" board and the boarders of Hotel Shovraj must proud for it. Another thing Hotel Shovraj is a totally wooden five stories hotel construction and careless smoking is very much dangerous in this property and if its happen unfortunately entire property, all guests, owners family and the particular smoker will burn and vanish and that's why the board says "any body smoke in this property will be vanish" and its very much true it will happen if anyone smoke carelessly and that's why Shubhashish try to stop them in advance by his board but for the smokers he made a totally separate river view seating which is very much generous from his side. Who doesn't understand the meaning of this words mentioning in this boards and write bad reviews intentionally I think they are really careless people who are not eligible to get entry in this beautiful property. Some bad people will be there as usual to spoil the nature and name but don't worry positive people will give positive feedback.…

I visited at shovraj, sirikhola on 20th November this year and once again the sengupta family proved they are the best at there service. This was my 3rd visit here in last 4 years. A well maintained family run hotel with all the necessary amenities. Our safety is there first priority as its a very standalone property away from all the crowds, they take our safety very seriously. Some very fiery lines are written on the fence to protect us from trespassers. I will surely meet you mr sengupta in my next visit. Thank you for your love and support.

Peace and calmness of the mountains are the gems of this location. We enjoyed every minute in hotel shovraj with the natural view and great stories to remember for ever. The river the greenery the food the night sky cannot be forgotten. There are so many rare unique birds can be seen around. Please visit the place to get yourself a good relaxing spot. We will visit again and again ❤️❤️❤️. For the security we can trust Subhashis da they have motion sensors everywhere. We all have bad memories in our lives this is the place to pull yourself together and get ready for the battle of life again.

Well...Shovraj hotel & resorts...best place to unwind yourself for a few days...best place to enjoy your priced moments..best place to bring some sweet memories home and the stories to tell your dear ones. We two friends in your early and late 40s visited Sirikhola and stayed at hotel Shovraj in the end of November 2020. We did camping in the grounds, cook pur own food, enjoyed a best part of our lives. The location is the best in entire Sirikhola. The arrangements, management and planning of the property is one of the best in that locality. The owner is a very cultured and co operative person without whose co operation, it would've been very difficult to camp in that property. He used to help us in every aspect, from arranging electricity in the tent to providing warm drinking water and with a precious smile. This place is serene with no nonsense attitude. Tourists with the attitude to feel the mother nature will enjoy here most. 20-30 species of birds will wake you up every morning.It's a paradise to birding.The dancing Sirikhola will mesmerise you every moment. A cup of hot coffee with the nature's bounty will definitely make your vacation memorable.Angling, as himalayan trout is available,can also be done. Star gazing is a pure bliss in this property. The rooms are cosy and can accomodate many guests at a time. Definitely a place to visit again and again.…

We are really surprised when we arrived at this hotel with our own small car when we saw what a beautiful location of this Hotel Shovraj property is and we saw other tourist from far homestays they're coming here and looking from outside the boundary fence and taking pictures of the property but they are not allowed to go inside and when we go inside the property after showing our booking confirmation and our IDs at that time we saw a board beside the property entrance where written "No Trespassing" and a gun picture and written below "violators will be shot , survivors will be shot again" it's just wow and couldn't believe ourselves how secure place we book for our tour, we saw surveillance CCTV every angle of this property to secure us and their other guests. In main entrance there is also written "No Alcohol Beyond This Point" and "You are entering a No Smoking Zone". Now everything is clear to us why some stupid people give bad review to this hotel, they are jealous because they are not able to go inside because they are not this hotel guest or they are alcoholic or smokers and not able to do whatever they want inside the hotel property or open areas. I write this review because people should know what is right and why they must book this hotel. This is a most secure property in Darjeeling district where administration people and most valuable people come to stay, like SP Darjeeling district, Election Observer, Celebrities and foreign guests. Hotel has Direct login with DIB(District Investigation Bureau) and deliver all guests information immediately after their check in. We really surprised to see how the owner Mr. Sen Gupta maintain everything perfectly which terms and conditions he send to us before giving accommodation booking in his property. Owner and his family is only people who maintain everything and give service to their guests, even Mrs. Sen Gupta Cook food for hotel guests, no other people working here except Sengupta family. They are communicated each other with walkie-talkies for faster service which unbelievable. They give respect each and every guests like a family members and we never feel we far from home. The hotel looks like a dream house and river view attach bath wooden no smoking rooms are very much comfortable with all standard facilities. Free car parking for guests, Free WiFi with 4G network every part of the property, Commercial Electricity and Power Back up by Generator and specialy delicious Bengali food makes us force to write this review what is Hotel Shovraj, it's not a hotel, it's a sweet home of Mr and Mrs Sengupta and their two kids where no one allow to overtake their accommodation terms and conditions in any reason if anyone come to stay in their property.
