The exterior may look very average but inside it's a cute cozy smartly designed hotel. Very good service, cordial stuff, very helpful manager. We had a very pleasant stay... Highly recommendable for families too

We have came to kurseong for several times. But we never knew about this good hotel. This time we had to stay at kurseong without prior plan. So we booked this hotel day before our visit from MMT. After reaching this hotel we were very happy to see clean rooms, other amenities and good behaviour of hotell staffs. Food was very tasty. It was better than some big restaurant of kolkata. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I will recommend everybody this hotel.

Hotel Amarjeet in Kurseong,Darjeeling,WB, is a good Hotel, located nearby the toy train railway station, the main market area and the taxi stand is probably the biggest and the best hotel in that small town in Darjeeling District. The rooms are good, though small in size compared to the fare, but the room we stayed there for two days, named as King Deluxe is having a breath taking mountain view from the glass window. The quality of food is good but not quantitatively - mainly the Punjabi cuisine though little bit costly. As there are no other good restaurant nearby it is worth having lunch and dinner at that small outlet. If someone want to stay comfortably for 2-3 days then they should go for this hotel without hesitation.

I stay here with my family and friends on my trip in June 2014. It was a pleasant stay. The hotel was clean and cozy. The staff were well behaved. Location wise, it is really good. I would recommend the hotel favorably.

Chiranjeev Singh.

Hi
KURSEONG is the place for those who wants to enjoy hill but not in much crowed and in budget. We i,e. I along with my family stayed there for two days. I can say this Hotel is one of the best in the town. The service is good the foods are execelant and most importently the best is the location. rooms are spesy and with big beds. This hotel has a travel desk who can help for your side scene but they charges about Rs 50-100 extra. most importently this hotel provides 24 hour hot and cold water in bathroom. If you want to stay your week end or a ningt or 2 in route of Darjeeling this is the place you should be

I visited darjelling during 21st march to 24th march , as toy train from NJP to darjelling is under maitainance, so we re planed our trip by staying at kurseong , we stayed at queens delux room it was road facing and with a big glass window with drape just enough to cover it.
try to avoid this road facing room as road side noise disturbs all the time.
Food was so-so but morning breakfast was really tasty, on my request they prepared break fast early morning, before the morning train at 7 am. If one has to take the toy train this hotel is well commanded. over all good experience. bit too pricy, bargain well before check-in.

I stayed here at The Amarjeet Hotel on my visit to Kurseong in November 2014. All over it was a warm experience to stay there with their ever smiling and helpful staff with excellent service. The location being the prima facie, a centrally placed stay makes exploring the place better in many ways. Nice service, good location, affordable, what more do you need. Stay at Amarjeet at your visit to Kurseong and you wont be disappointed.

Stayed in Amarjeet Hotel while on my trip to Darjeeling & Sikkim with my friends, was a wonderful experience. Wasn't hard to find, near by the toy train station, food was brilliant, nice scenic beauty, reasonable rate and the hospitality was the best of all. All our arrangements were made instantly in reasonable rate.
Would prefer Kurseong rather than Darjeeling because Darjeeling is quite crowded whereas Kurseong gives you country feeling along with nice scenic beauty and lots of peace.

small but a well managed hotel. food is no doubt amazing and more amazing would be their service staff, amazing lot of people working there. Try and request for rooms facing the valley, but the road facing room has a distinct advantage of the toy train engine whistling by every now and then from eh shed to the station. Bargain hard for the rates as they are a little overpriced.

We had to cut short our trip in west Sikkim as a hotel booked in west Sikkim turned out to be disastrous and thus had to quickly book a hotel for 2 nights in Darjeeling ....as our return was via Darjeeling. We thus booked 2 nights in Amarjeet hotel after reading the reviews on tripadvisor.

The manager Mr. Kumar was very very cooperative and arranged a vehicle for our pick up.

Overall I agree with all the previous reviews except one or two.

What I agree:-
(1) The rooms are nicely done.
(2) The staff is very courteous.
(3) The food is excellent.
(4) The room service is very efficient.
(5) The hill facing view rooms were booked and we had to settle fort road facing rooms. Thus the view for us was zero.

Now very important points not clearly informed or highlighted here :-
(1) The hotel is in Kurseong which 30 kms away and it takes around one and a half hour drive from main Darjeeling.
(2) A private taxi (Sumo) for 4 people will charge around 1500 Rs (+/- 200 Rs if you bargain) in season time - one way! Alternatively you can take a share a Tata Sumo taxi which loads a minimum of 10 people before starting the journey!
(3) The hotel is opposite Kurseong Railway Station (toy train). The entire area is more like a slum area!!! It does not have any comparison to the peaceful area of Darjeeling Gandhi Road where all main hotels are located. The traffic hustle bustle and heavy honking starts as early as 7 AM and is a complete nuisance for road facing rooms. On the 2nd day while boarding our taxi we were witness to a group of taxi owners indulging in ruffian style fighting and landing blows on each other.
(4) The hotel has a restaurant cum bar on the ground floor. The access to the rooms is right thru the bar-restaurant! This is very very UNCOMFORTABLE! I have seen guys drinking liquor look in a very dirty manner towards lady guests who are passing by to go to their rooms! If i had a teenage daughter.... I would definitely not allow her to go thru that area in the evening / night.

Except for the above 4 points the Hotel is excellent. but the comparison of this hotel v/s hotels on Gandhi road etc in main Darjeeling is incorrect. We stayed in a hotel in main darjeeling after spending 2 nights here and there is a genuine vast difference.

To summarise correctly :-

1. Excellent option for a group of youngsters who are on a budget travel!
2. Good option for a couple of friends to stay.
3. Average option for a married couple owing to access road to the rooms, the slum type area surrounding the hotel and distance from main Darjeeling.
4. Would not recommend the hotel for a family with teenage daughters again owing to the access road thru the bar-restaurant and the slum area surrounding.

Note that for the management of the hotel, they are doing a good job, the minuses are all related to location. Yes the management must rethink on the access road to the rooms.
