The First thing that enthrals you when you reach their reception is the hospitality of the family that runs this place! Rooms are decent- few rooms do not have running HOT water, which has to be procured in a bucket from the restaurant above. The room I stayed in had Indian style toilet.
Decent bed and covers. The restaurant set up is awesome- with a library of books- fiction and non-fiction (books are available at the reception). Food is decent and all dishes come is good quantity!
Just above the restaurant on the roof- is where the family that runs the place stays- there is a terrace that has amazing view of the Kanchenjunga! I was completely spell bound- at 5 AM- it looked totally serene!
There is an internet centre and Taxi booking counter. There is a general store nearby.
It is just before the Tenzin Norgay Youth Hostel en-route the Japanese temple. A nice 15 min walk uphill from the Town Centre (Mall Road).
Everytime I visit Darjeeling, I would definitely stay in Aliment- only because of the amazing people!

We (a group of 3 people) felt very comfortable at Aliment Hotel. We stayed in total one week there (four nights before our trip to Yuksom and three nights afterwards). The furnishing of the rooms is of a good and cosy average. Big windows provide a bright atmosphere and offer nice views. The bathroom was clean. Hot water is supplied for approx. 3 hours in the morning as well as in the evening. Bedding was clean also and the thick and warm blanket did a very good job in regard to the cold weather. The manager and his uncle are very helpful if you have any questions concerning trekking tours and/or transport around Darjeeling. Free wifi is available at the rooftop restaurant which offers a great view of Kanchenjunga if the weather is clear. The food there is ok. I liked most the Tibetan bread (a little bit sweet but not too sweet) and the Thukpa which is a Tibetan noodle soup. The restaurant closes officially around nine o'clock which is in my opinion too early because the wifi is also shut down then. Hence you have to go to bed early ;). The entrance door will be locked at 10 p.m. All guests are required to be back at the hotel before.

The experience was absolutely terrible. The rooms were extremely cramped, and despite booking rooms for double and triple occupancy, the triple occupancy room was only suitable for one person. It's completely unacceptable to allocate such a room for three people, especially when informed in advance. The accessibility to the mall road was a disaster – the roads were steep, broken, and muddy. The lack of cleanliness was appalling, with the floors and especially under the bed being left unclean. To make matters worse, I found a used protection packet under the bed, which is completely filthy and unhygienic. The bed linens were old and stained, with blood marks on the bedsheet. The first-floor stay was a disappointment. The food was mediocre, and the restaurant was in dire need of cleanliness and hygiene. While the staff members were good, particularly the front office and restaurant staff, the overall experience was extremely unsatisfactory.

The trip was conducted through nest in tour and travel..they booked my room in Aliment hotel...There were 5 people along with me and 2 senior citizen including. Previously during booking it was mentioned already to book for a double sharing and triple sharing room. When we arrived the rooms alloted to us were simply a nightmare..the one which was alloted for 3people can actually fit only 2 people and the one for double occupancy can actually fit 1 person. The washroom were dirty..the bedsheet was having blood stain..there was a pack of used condom under the bed. The room was shabby, small to move around. There was no view from the room. Neither from 2nd floor nor from 1st.

The restaurant was horribly unclean. Food stain on each and every table cloth seemed as if it was never changed nor washed..even the sitting chairs had food stain on it.

Coming to commutation the road to and from mall market is very steep. It takes a toll on lungs. Very difficult for aged people to climb. My mother in law got sick. No taxi available to come to hotel. It shows 10mins walking to mall road but actually it's not 10mins it's 20 to 25mins. Four wheeler cars were unable to accelerate and climb up what to talk about humans..

Please think twice before booking this hotel and also booking through nest in. They will charge a hefty amount but the trip won't be a satisfactory one.
From day one we faced problem with nest in from njp till the last day.

They give bad water electrical kettle, complained on first day, was not able to heat water, after two days gave another kettle. but did not took away the bad kettle. on 4rth day at the time of check out they demanded Rs. 600/= telling that customer spoiled the electrical. If customer spoiled then they should have told at the time of giving alternate kettle. When customer / tourist/ guest refused to pay Rs. 600/= they stopped the guest taxi, forcibly took luggage, start beating the guest. Very bad, no change of bathing towels for 4 days. no tissue paper in the toilet, no intercom, no room service, no wi-fi. very very bad, no one should go to this hotel

When we arrived in Darjeeling, we didn't have a place to stay. We decided to walk as far up the hill as we could get to find the guest house with the best view. It was well worth the hike, I don't think you can beat the view from Aliment Hotel's rooftop! The rooms were comfortable and well equipped for the cold (they will give you a hot water bottle for the night if you ask). They have a restaurant upstairs too, and the food is consistently amazing. Great fried Tibetan bread and Nepali Thali, and sometimes momos too! It was so nice to have such good hot food and Darjeeling milk tea after a long day of wandering around the hillsides in the cold mist. They also let us store a couple bags at the hotel when we left for a few days to go to Yuksam. Staff is very friendly and accommodating :) thanks for a wonderful stay, Aliment Hotel!

I had a lovely big room. The bed was extremely cozy and clean. It's really cold in Darjeeling but the thick blankets kept me warm as toast.
The family running the hotel are lovely and helpful with travel tips, booking taxis and so nice to talk to.
The hotel is high up with the most amazing view from the roof and is quiet away from the hustle and bustle of Darjeeling.
I would definitely stay there again.

Worst experience ever. Mattress and best sheets were moist, room was dusty. Hot water only available for 2 hours from 4 to 6 pm in double rooms. Noise at night is terrible. No central heater, no A/C, no TV. Soap & toilet paper were not provided. Toilet with no flush system (bucket to be used). Towel given was dirty. Owner was dishonest when it came to arrange transportation from "hotel" to nearest city to the airport. Internet is paid by the half hour/hour and is slow. This place got me sick. I would not recommend it to anyone!

Get a prepaid taxi or shared taxi from outside of station. It will take nearly 3 to 3:30 hours to reach Darjeeling. It will drop you near Darjeeling mall or near the Taxi stand. Get a taxi or local cab to Aliment Hotel, the fare is around Rs. 150 - 200, they will ask for Rs. 200, you can bargain. The taxi stand is just infront of the Sai Ganesha tour office. You can ask for Bikram Gurung, very good guy and driver. We hire him. It will take 10 - 15 mins to up there to reach the Hotel at Dr Zakir Hossain road. Have a great time!
