My family of 5 (4 adults + 1 kid) from US, stayed in this hotel for about 3 weeks. We came down to Chennai for my Daughter's dance program and also to spend time with my siblings. I was a native of Chennai, so was able to narrow down on my location preferences and chose this hotel. We had amazing experience with unmatched service provided by the staff, right from the front office, security, breakfast area, room service, clock room etc.
I will start with the front office where Mahesh and team helped me to make the booking over phone and promptly picked up from the airport. Mahesh in particular went above and beyond to cater to our requests er..demands. We asked for a connecting room which was still occupied when we checked in. Later he seamlessly transferred all our belongings (10+ travel bags) to the connecting room in another floor when it became available and we were out that time. During new year eve we wanted to dine in their Chin Chin restaurant but it was so full with long waiting time . Again Mahesh and his team helped us by arranging the starters to be served in our room itself and informed us to come down when the table was available. He and the front office team always met our difficult requests with a smile which is a very rare thing.
I have a long list of other staff who provided amazing service but I have named a few. Mr.Shanmugam, 6th floor in-charge always smiling, a veteran with 25+ years of association with this hotel. who kept the rooms very clean, was prompt in collecting and delivering the laundry. Also people like Mr.Ramamurthi cloak room incharge and Mr.Lawrance the driver worth mentioning. We appreciate other staff members whom I have not mentioned for providing excellent service and will look forward to meeting them in future.
Finally, there are many new hotels in this area but none of them can match the highest standard of service provide by each and every staff. It is the people who can make a difference.

We have been regular to this hotel since last 15 years and due to covid situation we stopped travelling for last 1 year, again we came back to this hotel last week and we had a very good stay.Duty Manager Sana was helpful in suggesting good places to visit during partial lock down time also referred some good South Indian restaurants. Rooms are clean and hygienic and kept upto the mark. Staff use mask everywhere and sanitizers have been kept around all the important places in hotel. Duty Manager was helpful right from the check in till our check out and made sure our stay was pleasant and nice. Thanks a lot for making our stay memorable.

Staying here for a week and today is our 5th day and we are pleased to state that the stay is a pleasant one. There is still enough space to move around with an additional bed included in the room.
All the staff were very friendly and receptive to our needs from time to time.

We stayed at the Residency for 3 days and was a good experience. The service and food were amazing. Special mention to Sukanta Sahoo who took care of room service and ensured food quality was great. Really appreciate his follow up and client servicing. Also Lavanya from house keeping was thoroughly professional in cleaning the room and ensured proper sanitization and cleanliness. We definitely recommend a stay here !

i visited chennai for the first time and i was afraid were to stay, mean while friend of mine suggested me the residecy. i was alone and so frighted because of new city and new people, and some how reached the hotel in the early morning, i went straight to reception with fear and was shocked, the Guy welcomed me with a smile early in the morning and i got warmth feeling inside of me. he has done my check in within no hurry and i was in my room asap its was a quite speed check in i saw. To my surprised there was travel desk, were i got saved from the local language communication by the driver for the sight seeing, but rates are not fair (little high),stayed for couple of days and felt like i was in home. the service and the coordination between the staff is very good. finally i want to check out and called the reception and informed,they send me the bell boy for my help surprisingly to carry my luggage because it was late night and there might be short of staff, so kind of him. i checked out my room and they gave me and good bye wish, it was unique and with curiosity i asked him whats the name of it he said HWH wish mam and for one second i thought what?? then he started explaining, and finally he booked me cab to airport and he send me with the same smile as when he welcomed me, so kind of him (Mr.Santhanam). i am promising that ill return again with my family, make shore is a room for me and don't disappoint me. i loved the stay with residency and it will be a memorable part of chennai to me. i love the staff and hotel so kind hearted...........

We were delighted with the service provided by the housekeeping staff especially Balaji,Jeeva and thirupati. They went the extra mile to make my stay a memorable one. I also like to compliment Raghupathy from the restaurant whom also provide us with excellent service especially during breakfast. He knows our daily preferences. He always greet,smile and thanks customers and us. He is an asset to the organisation.
Lastly I am a bit disappointed with the reception personnel.I have been frequently staying in the hotel for the past 8 yrs and to get an extension was like begging them before they could acced to our request.Fyi I have always recommended to my Singaporean colleagues to put up in ur hotel but now I have to think twice. I remembered Venkat Rao previously in the restaurant a fantastic guy. Mr Mahesh from reception he might not remembered me at one occasion he did help me in my extension of stay but he was not much help this time around instead of giving me a slightly long extension he was only able to provide me with 3hrs. Every year I used to patronize 3 to 4 times in ur hotel. I hope next time around my stay in ur hotel will be a pleasant and memorable one. Thanks.

The rooms are well lit with the view of the busy road , sanitised and cleaned regularly. Food is delicious and served hot. Definitely recommended for even long stays. Only problem I had was with the parking space which is less for a hotel with a restaurant but the valets handled it well.

Cost effective, great food, very courteous staff, clean, felt safe and comfortable - reasons why I would recommend this place to solo travelers as well as family. US Embassy, Chennai VAC, major hospitals and colleges are close by. Anything you need to purchase is available in an accessible location. Great location! I stayed here for over a week.

My entire stay of 4 days at The Residency was very comfortable and pleasant, all thanks to the exceptional staff members who are always there to help you with a smile! Esp, Sathiya, Paranthman, Swornalata, Dinesh, Sarvanan and Harish. The rooms were very clean and the bed very comfortable. I had issues with the wifi and the IT support person fixed it in minutes. The highlight was the food, I opted to have all my meals at the hotel as icwas working and I wasn't disappointed at all, the buffet spread at the pavilion was very good with different cuisines everyday at the so you don't get bored and food is very tasty too! Location is safe and I definitely recommend this for people coming for US Visa appointment, very close to US biometric center and the USA Consulate, takes less than 10 minutes (distance < 3 kms) to reach.

Our stay was very enjoyable. The restaurant complementary breakfast was excellent with variety of food both Indian and international. They were healthy with variety of fruits, vegetables juices etc. The rooms are clean and the staff were friendly . The location is very good close to music halls, restaurants and shopping areas. Only problem we encountered during our first stay was the noise coming from maintenance work above our rooms which made our rest in the afternoons disturbed. But this was stopped after our complains to the reception. Please do not do these noisy maintenance work during afternoons when residents rest and night times when we sleep.

you need to book for the night of the 24th to check in that early.. no hotel will allow such an early check in
Their checkout policy is 24 hours. Speak to the front counter for free extension for 1-2 hours. They are very kind and understanding.
There is a Pothys 100 meters from the hotel entrance.
