I should accept that my stay at RAJ RESIDENCY hotel was the worst i ever had. The room service is not upto the mark- room was not even once cleaned during my 5 day stay inspite of reminding them again and again .........to the worst even the dustbin was not emptied even once. The hotel supplies u with salty water .if u cannot drink it , u will have to ask for mineral water for which u will be charged ( not the case with other hotel in the same location). The hotel doesnot have its restaurant so u have to go out for meals. The shower doesnot work. The worst part was that u are provided with one small blanket for 2 persons, if u are thinking that u can get a 2nd one from them then this is out of question( they say they donot have an extra one it). Overall a very horrible experience. I would never suggest anyone to stay at this hotel

The hotel is very old and infested with rats & cockroach. After check in I was shocked to see rats roaming in the alleyway outside my room. Cockroaches found roaming on the room floor and in toilet. The toilet was dirty/smelling and fittings are leaking & not working. The cleaning standards were very poor and room boys had unkept look. The hotel is run by some North Indian employing untrained Staff and give excuse for everything . All hotel premises are dirty and garbage/old items accumulated in corner areas.

I with my family boarded in this hotel, stayed for 3 days and faced horrible situation. service is very very bad there is no cleanliness maintained by the hotel management beds are filled with dust, bathroom is not clean only one bucket is available. There is no geyser in the room and there is only one geyser for all the rooms in second floor and they promised to bring the hot water when i asked but failed to bring inspite of my repeated requests and myself bought the hot water inspite of paying 5,800 for 3 days. They even failed to clean the room inspite of my request they gave receipt for only 3,500. I tried to vacate the hotel in the first day itself but the other hotels are already full as such i need to bear with that hotel.

It is really a horrible experience. I could not stay in those rooms and ran away immediately after check inn. I sincerely request clear trip to delete such hotels from your list. No more to express.bye.

I stayed at this hotel from 23rd to 28th December 2011, and paid thru online fully, 1st day had water cut and waited without water for 4-5 hours, the owner wanted to shift another room on the 1st floor, that room was terrible, and wanted extra money, i declined and stayed found bed bugs scrolling on the bed had to run to the grocery to get mortien spray and do the job daily by my self, water cut was a daily occurance couldnt have decent bath after doing some shopping, last day the big bully lost my printout and charged me ind 850 for another day, the printout was miplaced for their convenience the rate i paid initally was rs. 667/- I do not advise or even think about this hotel to anyone do not even list this damn place for others get caught. thanks Mushtaq Ahamed - Colombo Sri Lanka

I booked this hotel in advance because I had been staying in a hovel in Delhi and as it was more expensive, I thought it would be nice... I arrived exhausted and had been looking forward to a much needed lie down but when I arrived the sheets were filthy, crusty, stained with hairs etc as if they had not been changed since the last occupants, so I asked for the sheets to be changed, which they did fairly swiftly after my asking only three times, but the new sheets were far from clean, stained and unpleasant... Our room was locked with a padlock and we couldn´t lock it from the inside. There were blood stains on our bed sheets, the fan sounded like a tractor and the bathroom was filthy.

I had booked a double room at Hotel Raj Residency for my parents from 29th to 30th Dec'2009. They were given an AC room ( Room no 311) whose Room Rent was Rs. 1400/- per day. But an AC room cannot be expected to be so dirty, bathroom was in a shabby condition with broken buckets and mugs. Even the bedcovers were very dirty ....... ie the overall room was much below their expectation.
And the most surprising, when my father complained to the waiter on 29th Dec'09 afternoon( Although my father doesnot know the name, he was a dark, well built south Indian man) the waiter was very rude and he said that north Indians, specially Bengalis and Assamese only love to complain and they cannot be satisfied. Hearing this my father was very upset and he even avoided taking coffee from that waiter who was stationed for the day duty.
Infact my advice to other visitors is, if possible try to avoid Raj Residency, Egmore, Chennai as it is a dirty hotel, and with
equally illmannered Waiters.

It starts when i checked in, i booked it online as my flight from pune was supposed to arrive at 00:45. Wen i went to the reception and showed the boy the confirmation voucher, he like an illitrate fellow, said that the voucher is not valid and there is no such booking. The reason for his reaction was that he was not aware of how to check the computer for bookings. I somehow managed to convince him on which he allowed me to rest in d night and advised me that he will look into d issue in d morning. After this i went to the room expecting a nicely furnished, clean and hygenic room as shown on the internet. But to my horror, there was a foul odour as if the room had not been opened for atleast a year. So after dis i happened to open the toilet and suddenly 4-5 cockroaches came out as if they were also not happy with the surroundings. The bathroom fittings were stained and stinking. The bedsheets were like never washed and mattress was atleast 5 years old. Next day morning i asked them for breakfast (which i had paid for 2 days 200rs per day), the boy at the reception took me next door where the most expensive breakfast menu stated a dish for 30rs. It was hard for me to imagine n calculate the 200rs worth breakfast on a normal "HATHGAADI". The worst experience was when a night before scheduled check out time, the reception asked me to pay extra money as according to him the booking was for 2 days n check out will be on 3rd day. I was totally annoyed by this time but was patiently trying to convince him that while booking itself the check out time was confirmed at 7.00 am on 9th April (check in was at 7th April 02.00 am) and also while checking in. But the boy(Pratyesh) was so arragant to me and kept arguing with me saying this is chennai and here this procedure is followed. I finally had to call my booking agent and asked him to sort this out who immediately called the higher ranks from d hotel and sorted out the issue. There is no scheduled cleaning o the rooms or toilets, no bed and clothes change, such a unhygenic, dirty hotel and pathetic service.
I regret booking at RAJ RESIDENCY, EGMORE and would never in my life recommend this to my friens or even enemies.
