Residency if my favorite place when I visit Chennai and its not my first review.
Its very few properties which offer 24 hrs check in and checkout.
Location is in prime area and just 1 km walk for T Nagar main shopping and cabs/ tuk tuks easily available
They charge Rs.1100/- ($ 15) for airport pickup /drop (one way).
They recently upgraded one floor and I stayed in premier room, this time.
Room came with king size bed, smart toilet, Nespresso Coffee Machine ( I saw similar ones of Starbucks when I went to US) and toiletries of Boutique brand which is very reputed in India.
Room also equipped with Flat TV and Iron box and table will be provided on request.
One unique feature I came across is room provided with one iPad and you can use it to control temperature, open curtains, lights, order food for in room dining etc (image enclosed) .
Don’t miss Mr. Gandhi’s filter coffee at their restaurant. He is 70 yrs old and master in South Indian filter coffee and greets every guest with a smile and ever active.
Well spread buffet breakfast with both South Indian and continental spread .
I recommend their pastries and cookies.
Ms.Deepika & Mr.Robert are their great staff and takes good care of guests.

Had my engagement event on ll llll 11th December.
We had a crowd of 250...Everything was properly organised right from the bride bridegroom complementary room till the dinner
These are few of the highlights
1. Food refill was done every 15 minutes.
2. Mr Karthikeyan and Mr Rajaram brought a well cushioned chair to my 93 grand mother the moment they saw her.
3. Food was very delicious and complete menu was more than sufficiently available till the end(around 10.30pm). This is quite unpopular with many other star hotels.
4. I looked a bit tired in the mid of the event and Mr.Karthikeyan came to me and asked whether I needed some water. I asked whether if he could get me a coffee. He himself came with a coffee within 5 minutes. This gesture I would not forget it till life.
5. The team also took good care of my elderly relatives by helping them during dinner.
6. They gave me decent discount at the end.
7. The perfect coordination they had with my decorator ‘Wed By D’, my DJ, my photographer has to be mentioned.
8. Just like I requested, Mr Rajaram and Mr Karthikeyan made all the valet drivers stay active till the end and wear Masks so that guests giving their car will feel safe.
9. I have visited the hotel before the event atleast 10 times. But every time they patiently showed the hall and spent a lot of time in encouraging me in giving ideas.
10. The team consisting of Rajaram, Karthikeyan Vasanth, Hari, Raj Kumar, Sathya and Suresh are the best. I owe them a lot.
Iam happy to say my engagement was perfectly organised by the TEAM.

Great stay. The breakfast buffet is worth the money you will spend. It’s a huge spread of items and each delicacy tasting wonderful. The whole room is controlled using an iPad and you don’t have to ever touch a toilet seat as it is all remote controlled. Kudos on that. Swimming pool was
Closed. I wish they factored that in the price. The only bad side was the check- in experience. I had traveled from out of the country and had no internet on my phone and the front office denied me wi fi access as I wasn’t a guest yet. Guess, they didn’t see me as a future guest either. Lucky for them, I still ended up staying but I did think of leaving; there was a lockdown and it was 4 am; so stayed!

I was in India for an extended visit and made the mistake of booking with a larger chain hotel because I was familiar with it. After hopping around the country a bit, we ended up back in Chennai and I booked the Residency Towers for a few nights. I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed in multiple 5-star hotels and this was by far the best based on service, cleanliness, facilities and food. The laundry service was excellent here, as well as room service. They have several items available 24/7 which was nice. If I could give these guys a higher rating on service, I would. It is the best I have ever experienced outside of a boutique hotel.

The location was great for getting out and exploring on foot or via car or Auto. We walked to Ranganathan street. It was a bit of a haul, but the sidewalks are very good and it was easy to grab a ride back.

When I visit Chennai again, this is where I will be staying. If I had to give any cons, the pool could use some attention, but it gets little use that we saw (there were us and one other group we saw there). But that is a minor ding. It is still very usable, just showing some wear. Also, if you are used to sleeping in a very cool room, the room was not very cool. It gets down to maybe 20.5 (69-70 F), but one night it went into eco mode in the middle of the night and we woke up sweating. We were there for a short period, so didn't ask for help. But it is something you may want to ask about when you check in if you are used to sleeping at a cooler temp. We saw this same limit in multiple higher end hotels in Chennai.

One other odd point, the rooms have smart toilets, not just a run of the mill bidet, these are high end Toto toilets. Superb is all I can say. Made me come home and price one out. Also, we had a room with a stove and cooktop. If you have kids and are on an extended stay, this is worth it. We used the stove multiple times to heat up leftovers. They will also come to the room and show you how to use everything, and you can just request it via the in-room tablet (which also controls all of the lights and curtains, something else that sets this hotel apart).

Overall, 10/10, maybe 11 out of 10 in some areas. We will visit again. :)

My expectation of the hotel was very high and I guess that’s why I felt disappointed in the end. We had stayed for 5 nights.

There was a water cut off on the third day. I had just returned from the hospital and could not use the toilet to shower and clean up. Was very disgusted with the water cut off. However, the toilets are big and spacious.

My room was too cold even when I set the temperature to 28 degrees and had to keep our aircon off mostly. My other family was in a different room and their temperature was warm even though they set it to 20 degrees. Thought this inconsistency was unacceptable for a 5 star hotel.

My family had also had cement fall on them while they were in the lift coming down to the lobby, their shirts were damaged due to this.

On our last night of stay, there was a wedding couple and family living around us. They kept ringing our bells at 12 midnight and 4am while we were sleeping and we had to tell them that this room did not have their family. It was so annoying to have been put between the family. In future, I hope the hotel could put large families on their own so that they would not get mixed up on rooms.

The breakfast menu was also more Indian and had only a handful of western breakfast. For me I felt that the menu was limited. But my family did enjoy the Indian breakfast. The food was overall good.

The customer service here was also really good as we would get towels within a 10min of request and room service for food was also prompt and quick.

Overall I felt that although the service was good from the staff but the hotel did not satisfy my stay and the amount I had to pay for it.

Residency Tower is a vey good hotel to stay in Chennai, its located strategically in the Business area of Chennai that is T-Nagar, the famous Marine beach is just 2 kilometer away from this place. The hotel is suitable for both Business & Pleasure visit in Chennai, it is equipped with all amenities one would expect inna Hotel, such Health center equipped with State of art Gym, Spa etc.
It also has PUB to relieve all yours stress after a hectic day.The Reataurant is the best part of this hotel, you will find all type of cuisines here from South India to North India,a seperate counter for Chinese & Italian food.
The staff in the restaurant are very courteous & responsive, they ensure that your needs are taken care of, I got a chance to interact with Mukesh & Hepci, both are very helpful & prompt inspite of having to serve so many guest in the restaurant.
The restaurant staff are so efficient that they can remeber all the details of their guest right from their names to room number.
I will definitely recommend this hotel for people planning to travel to Chennai, they are just outstanding.

10/10 for the staff, they were all very helpful, the only one small thing was at dinner and breakfast the empty plates were not cleared away quickly.
The room was a good size with a large bed and everything controlled via iPad.
Bed was large, clean and comfortable.
The bathroom/shower again was a very good size, hot and powerful shower with a choice of rail or rain shower.
Location was right on the middle of the hustle and bustle but the down size is there was a bit of street noise, and also you could hear the call for prayer.
I would have no hesitation saying here again.
Thank you to the staff.
