Thanks to Hanu Reddy Residences for a smooth and comfortable stay in Chennai in the middle of a global pandemic while traveling with a small baby. The property itself is a series of charming bungalows with ample tree cover and set amidst one of the poshest neighbourhoods of Chennai. The staff particularly Seemaan in the front office and Chef Ganapathy went out of their way to ensure every little detail was taken care of. The meals were reminiscent of home-cooked food, and the spread was considerable. The fact that we had to sterilize the baby's bottles for every feed and needed hot water as well as fresh baby food was accommodated wonderfully by the staff. We will definitely visit again with our entire family once it is safer to travel.

I stayed for nearly 10 days at HRR Poes Garden in the midst of the pandemic. The stay was very comfortable. The rooms are large and clean. I particularly liked the hard mattress, which provided good back support. Many hotel rooms have very soft mattresses, which may be okay for one or two nights, but not for long. The mattress in my room was not like that. During a long stay, the other problem could be food - again, this was not a problem at all. One can eat their food day in and day out because it wasn't too oily or spicy. A specially enjoyable aspect of HRR Poes Garden was the roof garden on the terrace. I spent many hours walking there. Finally, I should compliment the staff, in particular Mr. Seeman, who is very attentive to the comfort of the guests. He was prompt with his communications right from when I was planning the visit and all through my stay. He would call up to check if I needed breakfast or dinner or to ask whether I would like something special for lunch. On the whole, this was a really excellent experience and I recommend HRR Poes Garden to everyone.

I enjoyed the room with a little kitchenette. While I had the microwave and kettle, did not feel the need to rustle anything up, as the staff catered to my every little wish! The kitchen staff would make me what I wanted. The housekeeping staff was also very helpful and responsive. Even though I stayed there through the lockdown, I did not once feel that I would be exposed to the virus. The staff took the utmost care to practice safe measures. Everyone, from the top executive, the reception staff, the housekeeping staff and kitchen staff worked to make sure my stay was safe, secure and comfortable. Truly a home away from home!

This hotel is nestled in the city and the property was very beautiful. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the room. It was dark (only window completely covered up) and felt dirty. The aircon was a window unit that made the room feel very damp. Sleeping in the sheets was very uncomfortable and the bed was hard. The washroom was cramped and had a small hot water tank you had to turn on. There were dead bugs on the floor. However I did enjoy sitting in the breakfast area (small but good selection) and the dinner food was very very good. If you are used to western standards this does not compare.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Hanu Reddy Residences, Poes Garden in Chennai between July 14 and August 4th as I was in India on personal work.

Starting from the time I checked in, to my departure, I experienced only the highest levels of hospitality, graciousness and service. Whether it was the office coordinator Seeman, the room maintenance team or the servers, there was a genuine desire to make me comfortable and take care of me. This was also beautifully understated where there was not a single time when I felt I was staying at a hotel - it was like staying at home.

The rooms and bathrooms were immaculately clean and well appointed and the the beds were very comfortable. The food was very well prepared and wholesome.

The building is surrounded by neem and trees and the roof garden is a tree level sanctuary that is peaceful and beautiful.

All this at a piece that is competitive

Credit to the management for having created an all permeating culture of genuine caring hospitality.

I have no doubt that HRR will remain my go to residence option when when visiting Chennai.

We stayed at Hannu Reddy Residences in Poes Garden from Nov 5th to 7th 2020. We had got good feedback on the cleanliness/hygiene of the place in this Covid situation from our friends. We are happy about our stay. Staff are hospitable, food is prepared hot and served in restaurant. On the whole a good experience.
Thanks,
Panish Hangal

We stayed at
4/12 Nawab Habibullah Avenue, 2nd St, Thousand Lights, Chennai. We stayed in suit room 2 nights and in a small room 2 nights as the suit room was booked previously. While checking out they charged us with same fare for all 4 nights, when we reconfirmed with manager they started to say all room even it’s suit or normal prices are are… so I would advice all the customer to check fares properly before check in.

Very poor managers behaviour

When we arrived, staff barely paid attention to us. We had to ask over and over again to even get them to check us in. They were pretty rude and dismissive the whole time. When we finally got into our room, we saw it was in pretty poor condition. There was mold growing in one of the walls, the bathroom was in very bad shape (there was a cockroach in the shower). The room was right next to the dining area so it was loud. I only stayed in Chennai one night, otherwise we would have left this place. Find anywhere else to stay other than here.

Hannu Reddy is a lovely place to stay in a calm and leafy part of Chennai. Not only does the hotel serve delicious and authentic local cuisine, but the hotel is also surrounded by three extremely delicious and characterful restaurants in DesiDi, EntreKerala and The English Tea Room. The hotel serves a great breakfast and has lovely plants and decorations everywhere and a brilliant rooftop terrace. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Hannu Reddy!

We stayed in room 37 for two nights in January. The room was nothing like the photos. The curtains were dusty, walls dirty with places where tape or holes were. The bathroom had mold and the back of the bathroom door was dirty. The air conditioner leaked water onto the bedside night table on which we had placed our iPhones. In the morning I realized this and it was too late. One iphone ruined. Really a shame because the staff were wonderful and the location is quiet. Maybe it was just room 37 but I didn’t see any other rooms. For 5569.20 rupees per night I really expected something better
