We looked into various hotels for the Wedding and Hyatt Reagency was the clear winner in terms of the build and looks. The staff are very dedicated and guest friendly! Especially, Mr. Vijay and his team helped my brother a lot in terms of exploring the various agendas the hotel can offer and in sealing the deal.

I ordered a three tier cake with pillars (similar to a Christian wedding cake) for the reception. A lot of the cake was remaining since there was only 50 people. So, as I requested they dismantled the 3 tier cake to 3 separate cakes, removed the pillars and preserved the cake till the next day so we can take it home. Unfortunately I was given only one of the cake pillars (the pillars are important because only on returning those to the cake shop I can get back my 2K deposit).

I sincerely thank the efforts of Mr. Surendiran Raja who took the request seriously, constantly coordinated with the chef and called me to tell that they found the other cake pillar and they will send it to our house address if we are not able to come.

Another reason Hyatt takes the lead is that, there were no photography restrictions in Hyatt unlike the majority of hotels.

The only things I feel could improve is that we were a big family being given rooms in the 6th floor and only 1 card per room. So, for everything we had to go through 2 elevators and a 5 minute walk before we reach the room from the marriage hall. Also, in the elevator we will need to scan the card in order to press "6". This was a bit hard since only 1 person had the card. Other thing is the bathroom and switches. The bathroom has a wooden and a glass door but it would be helpful for families if the bathrooms had a latch and if a demo is being given on the switches and bathroom equipment usage to the newbies.

Overall Quite Impressed! Thank you very much for making the wedding a dream come true and for your excellent service.

Very modern facilities made for a wonderful overall experience. The buffet breakfast at Spice Haat was delicious and had a huge range on offer. Gym and pool facilities were also of an excellent standard.

Location is great for getting around the city, but a bit isolated to general amenities like groceries, which is about a 15 minute walk along a big main busy road.

There are issues with cleanliness, especially with the showers - they were grimy and not ventilated with fans. Because of the open plan with the bathroom and room itself, it meant that the entire room became very moist and humid.

We stayed as part of a big wedding group so we appreciated the additional services provided like airport pick-up and drop-off. In general the service was good but could be warmer.

Hyatt Regency was the best hotel we have ever had the pleasure of residing in. We stayed for one night in December 2021 and we would recommend this hotel totally to anybody. The rooms were amazing and had a very innovative design, the service was attentive, and the entire staff did such a wonderful job keeping us safe in these COVID times, constantly masking, sanitizing, and cleansing to banish all possible respiratory modes of infection. We would also highly recommend the breakfast buffet in the morning for wonderful crispy dosa, moist idli, and spicy masala tea.

Something to note - if you are a club member, for a little while the club lounge is currently closed. Instead, you can get free tea and coffee at the restaurant.

They were also kind enough to arrange an airport transfer directly from the chennai airport and had a driver waiting immediately outside the doors to take us to the hotel. After a long travel day, this kind act was much appreciated.

There is also an amazing art installation draping across the upper floors that is worth a look see. Chennai is such a great place for culture and commerce! This hotel is quite central to the major sights, sounds, and tastes of chennai - an entire ecosystem right outside your door. Whether you are a business traveler or traveling for fun, Hyatt regency is sure to meet your needs. We really appreciate that they didn’t lose any of our passports and were able to print out our boarding passes for an upcoming flight. A wonderful place to catch up with family and relax.

My Experience:

I checked in to the property on 22.09.2020 @ Room 602. Everything in this room seemed perfect except the internet/wi-fi. I couldn't connect to the wifi and a wireless device was provided to access internet. Next morning, the wireless device ran out of data and another wireless device was provided. When the second device ran out of data, I couldn't take it anymore and asked the staff to fix the internet. The front office agent took more than an hour to see me at my room along with the IT Manager. When they couldn't fix it by replacing the Access Point, I immediately asked them to change my room. It took them over 2 hours to move me to Room 904. I got in touch with the F&B Manager Pushp beforehand who promised me that a room change is in process, but the delay is unacceptable The internet at Room 904 worked normally but speeds are quite slow. The maximum speed available was not more than 4 Mbps. The hotel promotes "Free High Speed Internet (WiFi)" which isn't true.

On Day 2 of the stay in Room 602, I found two employees of the hotel knocking at my door and asked me if I smoked in the room! The smoke detector went off in some other room and they came to my door. That's disturbing.

After checking in to Room 904, I noticed a few add-ons, an iron board and an iron was provided, Cushions for the sofa and pillow for the chair. This should've been the same in Room 602.

A refrigerator/mini bar wasn't provided in either of the rooms.

My stay in Hyatt included breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was delivered late a few times during the 3 night stay. Fish curry tasted terrible whenever served.

Last but not the least, I reported most of the above to Pushp (F&B Manager), he deeply regretted and apologized for the bad experience.

A five star hotel shouldn't be struggling with all of this. However, this kind of service is very common in India but can't be ignored as I paid for it.

I am visiting Chennei after 25 years from Singapore . Nice hotel and very helpful staff at bell counter . Assisted us with Taxi and Luggage. .
The housekeeping staff from kerala & Nagaland were very helpful . Room is nice but the bath & toilet if not family friendly if you have adult chn from 2 different gender, though the room toilets is great for couples . WC ventilation not good The room is very dim during night time need more lighting if you searching for things or packing your luggage . During the day the lighting is good has they have a huge glass window .
Lift system to rooms is very inconvenient , as you have to change lifts to go to the rooms .
Male staff at 4pm on the 23 Dec at the Bar was helpful and knowledgeable. Reception ladies at 2pm on the 23rd Dec were helpful and friendly .

The hotel is located in a very good central location. Safety and covid protocol are well maintained. People are good and friendly. Half board at a very reasonable price point.
One of the best part is spa. Price is practical and people in spa are very down to earth. Specially Erica. Dukho and jagadish In spa are very friendly and has an ear ready to listen to your concern areas. Even going beyond time and working extra hours they have offered me their treatment. Erica is someone who has the ability to make you feel at home with her very well mannered way of treating guest. She is an prized possession of hyatt. Overall a very good place to stay.

Initially planned to stay for 4 night and ended up staying for 16nights and over experience was good staff was very warm and courteous and they go to any extent to ensure me and family stay in the Hotel felt comfortable, there are many to name but few would like to highlight Akanksha, Pragesh, Senthil, Gaurav, Badrinath Sachit(Trainee) Aman, Akhil etc. to remember their names.
At breakfast table every staff offered there best services they also suggested and brought tasty dishes my daughter felt the services offered to a princess.
When my daughter wanted to have a tour of kitchen Dev Kumar Head Chef himself took her around the kitchen and restaurants explained patiently each of there functions and roles and she said one of the cleanest kitchen one can experience.
About the hotel it is quite big situated in the heart of the city rooms are also quite spacious with all amenities limited to Covid restriction by authorities and hotel rooms are getting renovated to enhance the customer comfort and experience.
I would like to thank each and all for making our stay a memorable during this pandemic..

The stay at Hyatt Regency Chennai was very good. The staff is very friendly and warm especially Ms Manuka and Mr Kartheek who took care of our food orders, and food was very yum.
The housekeeping was also apt, as I was travelling with kids they made a cute puppy out of towel and kept in our room as a surprise.

We stayed for a night and we had all the three meals in the hotel itself. We liked the decor of the hotel and the restaurants. The hotel is located on Anna Salai, the main thoroughfare of Chennai. Equi-distant from the airport, city centre and the IT corridor.

The lobby and the atrium are well designed and adorned with some nice artwork. It looked very nice in the night too. The main restaurants are located on the same floor as the lobby. We had our breakfast and lunch at the main restaurant- Spice Haat and dinner in our room. The breakfast and the lunch buffets had a lot of choice of cuisines along with local fare. The food was tasty. The attentive staff with their menu suggestions were a highlight.

The rooms are spacious with an open style bathroom. The washbasin had a flat tv style illuminated mirror. A nice idea. The bed was comfortable. They set the room at 22 deg C which was too cold for my comfort. I am used to setting my ac to 28. It took long to warm up.

We liked the spa. The service was good. The only regret was when I overheard the customer at the next checkout desk had a better deal - reminding me of the tv commercial about a hotel comparison app. We had an otherwise enjoyable stay.

When I last visited, there was no renovation work going on. You can bring Guests to Lounge on chargeable basis. Infants stay will also be comfortable in terms of stay and food can be customised for infants by making a request to do so.

The rooms are renovated during Covid time but it’s not up to 5 star standard. It’s looks like 3 star budget hotel. Avoid this hotel

Yes, operational timings for free flow cocktails is 6-8pm. Wi-Fi is there in club lounge.

The last time I stayed at the Hyatt Regency, (approx 1 year ago) in a Club Room, they provided the complimentary return transfer from the airport. You will need to call the Hotel directly to organise. It is an excellent hotel with great service & location.
