My wife and I stayed 3 nights. Clean rooms, nice shower. Breakfast was absolutely amazing with a huge variety of items to choose from. Coriander spinach juice was new for me and delicious. Having come to experience South India, I stuck to the South Indian items which were cooked to perfection though continental food items and assortments of fresh fruit and varieties of yogurt were also available. Dosa or egg were made fresh on request. We had a South Indian thali for dinner. The chef Mr Ram Dass cooked delicately spiced dishes, just right for the Western palate and Mr Thanga made sure we were well looked after. The rooms are spacious, I found the mattress comfortable. Bathroom has electric socket for both 220V as well as 110 V for US appliances. A safe in the room is available free of cost for keeping your money and passports though the building is very secure. Anna Salai is the main road in the city, so getting about is easy. Metro station is 10 min walk away. AC has temp control by the bedside and is very effective. The only fault I could find was the rather bright blue night light over which I had to put some opaque sticky tape, since blue light has been shown to disturb sleep.
Overall a very nice stay.

We booked the Mauve room for a wedding reception at RainTree and the booking process was fairly easy as the banquet manager was very helpful. Food was very good and the hall / facilities were good (being a 5 Star hotel venue) for the relatively higher price we paid for better quality. Thanks to RainTree for making the event comfortable and wonderful. We have a few suggestions and requests

a. Due to the situation we all know in the months of March 2020, we had fewer confirmations from guests from within India, and almost none from overseas. We requested the management to reduce the minimum guarantee but it was blindly refused (though they knew the situation very well).

b. We requested them not to waste food and so asked them to prepare less and / or at least allow the guests to pack the left over food. However, the banquet manager blindly refused to consider our requests.

c. At the end of the event (around 9.30 pm) we once again requested to allow some (not all) of the items to be given to the last few guest in a small container. That was also refused.

d. We requested them to give the left over to any orphanage or for the poor people, but that also they could not confirm. It may be their management policy to waste food rather than sharing with guests or pre-arrange with any orphage. This is something the Management of RainTree need to review.

We were a bit unhappy at the way this topic was handled with absolutely no focus on CUSTOMER SERVICE or Compassion for the POOR.

Lastly, we expected the Banquet manager to meet the person who booked the facility to thank them for the opportunity and take any feedback for improvement.

RainTree please wake up to realities.

Dear Guest, Vanakkam!! Thank you for choosing "The Raintree Hotel Annasalai" for your event and sparing your valuable time to share the feedback of your experience on this esteemed platform. I am delighted to know your are satisfied with our facilities and food, your positive feedback will act as source of inspiration for us. I have also noted your feedback regards to the event and your request to reduce the minimum guarantee due to the Covid -19 Pandemic situation. As per my banquet team your initial request to call off the event was honored due to the visa restrictions by the Indian government later when you decided to hold the function banquets team never received any request for reduction in numbers. Finally the request came previous evening of the function which was too late for us to accept due to the complete planning and ordering of raw materials were already done.At the same time our policy regarding packing of balance food was also explained .These processes are framed keeping the food safety norms and well being of our guests in mind. Once again thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you and hope you will understand our intentions. Looking for your continued patronage . Regards, Suresh Antony

Excellent Food & Ambience. The staffs are very humble & polite. We visited yesterday ( 9 th November) on our Wedding Anniversary occasion for dinner and had great experience at Kitchen Restaurant. Gone for Ala carte and ordered Penne Arabiatta Marinara (Sea Food Pasta made with anchovies, prawns, fish, squid, garlic, bocconcini ),Chicken Fried Rice , Indiana Vendure Vegetarian Pizza 🍕(topped with Paneer tikka, corn 🌽 kernels, red onions & capsicum ), Indian bread - Butter Nan & Paneer Butter Masala . The desserts ( cakes & sweets ) were given complimentary as its our anniversary day. Every Food especially the Pasta 🍝😋 was extraordinarily very tasty and mouthwatering one. Staffs especially Mr.Giri & Ms. Lamo made our occasion so memorable and they had provided finger bowl for washing our hands also ( at last ). The rate tariffs are very affordable and the food is worth the money paid . Will definitely visit in future also for sure .

I was a bit shocked, first time I am staying in a star property that is this dirty. Coffee stain on the table, dried rice particles on the carpet, some biscuit crumb from the remains of the previous guest in the corner of the floor, stain on the commode and stain on the carpet. I was quiet shocked and felt very dirty staying in such a place. Second day when I saw these stains remained after room cleaning I called back the cleaning staff and instructed them to clean it again and showed them the stains.
I also ordered a thai green curry on day 1 which was spicy beyond words. Since it was late at night and I was too hungry I quietly had to eat it. However when I told the staff of my experience they said thats how Thai curry will be. That was not good. Its not my first time I am having this dish. I order it everywhere as it is my favourite food. I thought the response was very good.
But for this, breakfast was good, service was good, all cab arrangements were handled very well, front desk is courteous.

The Good:
Everything in the room as you would expect a hotel of this category to have.
Bonus was that they gave me a corner room with windows on two sides which gave the room a really bright and airy feel.
Well maintained rooms, comfortable bed and chairs. Lots of little toiletries and extras in the bathroom, something most hotels have cut down on
Room service was quite quick and the Sandwich was a bit expensive but very tasty.
The buffet breakfast was one of the best I've seen for a hotel of this category especially post covid. Lots of variety including many items that are not staple on breakfast buffets. Polite, attentive and prompt service from all the staff.
Metro station is very close.
Check in and check out was quick and simple.
The Not so good:
Location is very central but you won't find any general stores or eateries around.
Swimming pool was under renovation which was a bit of a disappointment

Stayed one night and found the hotel to be quite satisfactory. Hotel including room was clean. Staff were able to communicate in English.
The night we stayed was Friday & in the bar there was music with a couple singing melodious old Bollywood songs, which we found relaxing with a drink.(Music probably in bar only on Friday night). Dinner was a bit of disappointment, we had a fixed menu in which served a speciality regional meal ( advertised as being prepared by authentic chefs ), but unfortunately not to our taste. The waiters were obliging & changed the dessert to our taste. There was classical instrumental music being played in the restaurant which was again relaxing.
Breakfast was sumptuous with helpful suggestion by the waiter Shankar Deep Sett.
In the room Ruly came & sorted our TV.
The front desk Manager Murali I found to be be very polite & understanding. Will stay in this hotel again on our next visit to the city.

Five days of a week I am spending at hotels pan India and I am emphasising that one of the best breakfast I ever had is from THE RAINTREE Annasalai Tenyampet Chennai. The array of delicacies starts from South Indian to Continental they covered almost all sorts of dishes and bakes. Pork Beef Mutton Chicken Fish Egg and Veggies, a complete breakfast. Grilled Bacon Sausages Curries what else everything covered with Juices Shakes Smoothies Pastries Deserts simply exceptional and WOW. The hotel is very clean well maintained with generous staff and the restaurants are of a class apart with the best practices of cleanliness and safety. The room allotment of Reception staff is at par with our requirements and requests and the ambience is one of the best of its class or more and the experience is truly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The toiletries linens etc are upto the mark. I strongly recommend this property for the best value for money experience. A must try place in the heart of Chennai….

Located on the main road through Chennai the hotel is centrally located but you need to take a cheap Uber to beach. The clean and efficient subway train is close by which also goes airport. The staff here are excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. Very nice modern hotel with three restaurants, a bar and an open air pool on roof with bar. Excellent large room very well equipped. I can't fault this hotel and enjoyed my stay.
