I returned to Savista for the third time on my own after a break of 7 years. I have been dying to go back ever since my last trip in 2017 when I also visited alone. My first visit being in 2017 too with my 8 year old and friends.
Whether alone or with family and friends - Savista is a true haven of peace, tranquility and beauty, and a place I can truly relax and recharge. I feel so warmly welcomed and well looked after by Bhanwar and Rhadika, who treat me like a member of extended family, truly a rare thing. I spent 5 days here at the start of my trip in India in April this year, tuning into the amazing sounds of the wildlife, birds and soaking up the sun on the roof and reading books from their library. Rhadika and Bhanwar are truly the heart and soul of the Haveli, whenever we spoke they shared interesting information about the surroundings, climate, flora and fauna of the place. I was cooked for and looked after by their amazing team, simply made seasonal produce grown in the garden of Savista. I love the fact that the food is prepared and based around what is local, seasonal and available, which to me is a sign of the authenticity and freshness of the ingredients. I am not bamboozled by an extensive menu of 100's of dishes...
I combined my time relaxing with a truly inspiring trip to Bagru which was arranged by my hosts. As a textile designer I have a deep interest and passion for textiles and spend a lot of time in design studios and factories, the workshop I joined was an amazing experience and perfectly delivered, with detailed information and I learned a lot in the 4 hours I was there.
I then spent three days in Jaipur city exploring museums, galleries and antique textiles archives. Many of which were thoughtfully recommended by Rhadika, I especially enjoyed the newly opened MOMH Museum of Keenakari Heritage, which highlights the beautiful craft of Indian high jewellery using enamelware and gemstones. They prefer you to book ahead and make an appointment but were very welcoming. I also really enjoyed the Amrapali Museum of jewelry - very extensive and super helpful staff. Ending this trip, which for me was the perfect combination of relaxation and inspiration, I can't wait to return!

As a bucket list item, I planned a trip to India for my 50th birthday year. My visit included New Delhi, Agra to see the Taj Mahal and Jaipur.
The end of my trip in Jaipur included a retreat to Savista. . As a first timer to India and being a solo female traveler, I was a little nervous and unsure of all my choices but my entire trip was seamless and perfect! Especially my retreat to Savista!
I was most grateful for my time at Savista because I was extremely overwhelmed with all the noise, pollution , busy streets and organized chaos along with the most magnificent sites and rich culture. When I landed at Savista it was a paradise away from the hustle and bustle. Yet if I wanted to re-enter the chaos a driver was provided.
The hosts at Savista from the time of my reservation request to my ride to the airport were most helpful and understanding and I felt completely safe. I was able book my stay , classes ( yoga, cooking , block printing, shopping etc), transportation to and from and all inclusive meals and tipping in one fee. This made life easy for me. The hosts were communicative, warm and friendly and spoke English which was also helpful for me. The room was beautifully decorated and had special touches such as snacks, Ayurveda soaps and shampoo. There was wireless access. The place was very clean and most importantly all water at Savista is a safe to drink. I highly recommend a stay at Savista as it’s a great place to enjoy and be in peace, eat delicious food and also creates balance to a trip to India.
I am very grateful for finding this diamond in the ruff! A must stay!!

I spent two days and two nights at Savista with my two children, 7 and 6, and my mother, 79. Our visit was short but memorable (my mother stayed longer, see her Savista blog). It was so peaceful, I felt quite safe to let the children move around freely in the garden, chasing the squirrels and picking little flowers in the fields. And they loved swimming in the pool which for us northerners was quite warm to be in October (except for me…). Our very kind hosts introduced us to their genuine Indian vegetarian cooking, with occasional treats of delicious ice cream. The kids loved that! Not used to Indian tastes they preferred less spiced food, which they got. We had time to visit Jaipur and the Amer Fort and that was also a great experience for all of us!
Thank you for these wonderful days, we hope to come back one day!

Now, this place is magical. Rooms are clean. Beds super comfortable. Bedding excellent. The water comes from a bore well, we live in India, and this is the only place I’ve ever in India where I could and did drink water from the tap. I know.
The swimming pool is not chlorinated, it's straight from the well.
The welcome book in your room is a history lesson on Jaipur, how the property fits into that history. The activities available such as connecting to the inner city tour, block printing, camel cart ride, paper making and so on kept us busy.
In this same guide the owner (who is a very kind man) provides you with all kinds of info on the flora and fauna, wild life in the area. Even down to the theme of your room, the color scheme chosen, and where the light will come in at sun rise and set. The good Dr knows his stuff.
This is not five star. Nor is it priced five star, it’s well within the price range if not a better value if what I’m describing is what you’re about.
But listen, there’s no room service. You order your dinner in the morning. They keep things kosher to protect the rooms and property so if this isn’t cool for you I’d stay else where. If you need a tv and pizza this isn’t the place for you.
Otherwise, if you want a legit, authentic, informed Rajasthan experience, you can’t go wrong by staying at Savista. We will be back.

Savista is indeed a retreat! I spent a week here and it was hard to say goodbye to Bhanwar, the owner and his charming, devoted staff. My rooms were beautiful and stylish, each farm to table meal was thoughtfully prepared, divine and fresh salad from the garden! The water is drinkable..yes, a rare treat. There is a splendid library, a gorgeous yoga gathering hall, gardens and fields to amble about, many birds and delightful conversations awaiting with Bhanwar who is an extremely gracious and charming host with an extensive knowledge of his country, past, present and future. I cannot recommend Savista highly enough if you want to escape the frenzy and chaos of Jaipur traffic. It is a short drive to Bagru so perfect for seeing the block printing village and taking workshops there.

That this fit happened between you and Savista is a matter of immense value. Your own contribution in this regard was significant, for which we cannot thank you enough.

My sister and I just stayed three nights at the hidden gem that is Savista Retreat. It was such an amazing few days! Particularly how lovely all the staff were, they really touched us with how sincere and kind they are. 🥰 Savista is a drive from Jaipur, and we did a daytrip in one day, chose to visit the block printer in a nearby village another day, and also fed the orphan cows in the village. We really appreciated the peaceful surroundings and of course incredible food!! It was some of the most delicious, homestyle food of our trip. Plus, we were so surprised that you can brush your teeth and drink the water at the property. I’m already hoping to return. It was unforgettable.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us along with your sister on your visit to Jaipur, and to celebrate your sister's birthday at Savista. We would like you to know how much we enjoyed having you with us - your conversations with individual members of the Savista team, your enthusiastic participation in all that we were offering, and the fabulous photos that you clicked while you were here. We also greatly enjoyed being part of the birthday cake-cutting ceremony. You have left us with fond memories of you both, and we hope very much that you will return to Savsta some day. All the very best, and have a great life.

Beware of this “resort.” It is in highly dilapidated condition. We booked three rooms for three nights (paying in advance) based on highly misleading reviews and photos. We left without staying a single night. To add insult to injury the owner was extremely rude to us when we complained about how misleading his advertising is. Do not repeat our mistake. There are far better options in Jaipur—at far more reasonable rates.

We are totally flummoxed by the approach adopted by the guest. In keeping with the Indian cultural tradition, we subscribe to the belief that a guest is a god; and even gods behave strangely sometimes. Immediately upon their arrival, and even before we could serve the welcome drink, the guest declared that everything about our place ( including a date palm sapling in the courtyard) was an offence to them. We have our own guess as to the reason for this reaction. But a guest is after all a guest, and we prefer not to join issues with the reviewer. We are well aware that there are cheaper properties in Jaipur.

I stayed in Savista Retreat as part of a group of yoga enthusiasts for 4 nights. We came to India to practice yoga and get acquainted with local culture and to learn the basics of traditional Rajasthani cooking.
The resort is located outside of Jaipur far away from noise and buzz of a busy city. It is a very green area with local drinking water supply. My room was very spacious and had a seperate parlour. There was also a nice swimming pool. The food was farm-to-fork, vegetarian, organic, healthy and local.
The staff and the owners are very kind and welcoming people who made our stay very pleasant.

So you come to Savista to relax, listen to the birdsong, eat the most delicious food and immerse yourself in the Rajasthani countryside. The staff will take care of your every need but if you need to escape for a few hours then a variety of excursions can be booked. We went on a very pleasant camel cart ride around the local village, calling in at a local farm for tea and snacks plus a visit to the cow orphanage.
Now do not come to Savista if you require minibars, high speed reliable Internet, 24 hour room service and all the trappings of a luxury hotel. You are staying in a much loved family home so grab a book and chill in a hammock or relax by the pool. Time to breathe.......
Thank you Savista, and a big thank you to the delightful staff and owners, you were exactly what was required after a manic Golden Triangle tour!

Thank you for taking the time to post this review, even while you were trying to recover from your hectic first-time visit to India and the huge sensory overload that that involves! We particularly appreciate your lucid and accurate portrayal of the property and, in that process, for authenticating all that we offer to our guests. Such genuine authentications, by travellers such as yourselves who come to new cultural encounters with open minds and hearts, make all the difference, and we would like you to know how much we appreciate your feedback. We would also like you to know that your interactions with the team at Savista were felt by all to be energising and encouraging, and we are very grateful to you for this. You were wonderful guests, and we look forward to hosting you again some time in the future.

Savista Retreat is an exquisite escape from the hustle of North India. Serenely set on 12 acres of garden and organic pasture, Savista transports you to the rhythm of rural India; Birdsong, slow breakfasts, beautiful rooms and a haveli oozing old world charm combine to make Savista Retreat a true gem. Don’t come for a hotel experience. Come to slow down and change gears.
