MeghNiwas is a beautiful home (built 1940) run efficiently by Colonel and Mrs Singh who live on the property. With large gardens, lawns, trees, flowers and a pool it is a quiet oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Jaipur. There are 20 clean, simple but elegant, rooms. Fresh home-made delicious food from our organic farm is available in the dining hall. It feels like a home with a gracious host, and has all the facilities you would expect of a hotel (wifi, AC, hot water, laundry, etc)

The hotel had a charming and authentic style and we were given a lovely big room with gorgeous furniture. The staff, however, really made the hotel stand out. They were engaging, welcoming, flexible and helpful, both Mrs Singh and Vikash. They were kind enough to heat up a homemade curry we had received from a friend in Jaipur and make some rice and dahl to complement. They really made us feel at home away from the hustle and bustle of Jaipur.

A great quiet escape. Stayed in one of the rooms at the back overlooking the pool which was very quiet, comfortable and spacious. It was winter and no one was swimming - a little cool. Staff were friendly and helpful and helped to arrange a driver for the day to tour and visit Amber Fort and around which worked out very well.

The staff, especially Vikash was what made the time for us in this hotel so remarkable. Despite the hotel being a little worn out and partly outdated, it was fully clean and the athmosphere was quite and relaxed in comparison to the rest of Jaipur. The staff was super welcoming, friendly and really cared for one. We were offered bananas as snack when we arrived and were hungry, it was possible to buy cola during the day and Vikash is supporting in organising food, also when most places around are closed. When we had a little dispute with our private driver which we booked by ourselves, Vikash was of full support and helped us in sorting out our dispute.

An oasis in the middle of Jaipur. Beautiful, individual rooms and great staff. The pool was clean and the atmosphere was very chilled. Recommend it to couples, singles and parties. Love the owner Mrs. Singh.

Lovely Hotel run by Col and Mrs Singh. Wonderful traditional welcome. The manager Vikash deserves a special mention as nothing is too much trouble for him. An authentic traditional Hotel...the rooms are decorated beautifully and the gardens and pool constantly tidied. Lots of choices for breakfast whether cooked or continental and always served with a smile. We were lucky enough to spend Diwali at the hotel...we had a lovely meal with the family and staff and even fireworks!!

Had the best time in Jaipur. The staff at the Meghniwas could not have done more for us, making sure we were supplied with drinks and all the comforts. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, a gem with a colonial feel to any stay. My room was extremely spacious and charming. Our stay was during Diwali and the staff made every effort to include us, their guests, in the celebrations. A fabulous stay!

Just coming to the end of a twelve day stay as part of a craft tour here in Jaipur. This is my second visit and the hotel continues to provide a wonderful oasis away from the bustle of the city, Meghniwas is a former colonial home turned into a hotel run by Colonel and Mrs Singh, whose home it was. All the rooms are spacious, with fridges and air-con, some with balconies and some fronting the beautiful gardens. Facilities include a lovely pool and free wi-fi. Meals are freshly cooked and tasty with breakfast being mainly Western in style. Mrs Singh is extremely gracious and the staff are polite and helpful. Nothing has been too much trouble and our group has been made very welcome, This hotel is different to a five star international hotel and so much better for it.

Poor. Use to be a good hotel in this range, but the owners have now retired and live in a back house. The place is not run by paid "professionals" of a low calibre. We had to wait for 40 minutes for our breakfast because the staff was busy serving the large family and some of their differently abled members. The manager pooh poohed our complaints on the lack of housekeeping and the general poor service, saying that this was a family residence not a guesthouse. Which was odd because the prices continue to be exorbitant. Our room service order was comical; on the 6 page menu most items were crossed out in pencil..of those that weren't our 1st 3 choices were not available..finally got a soggy "butter toast jam" that was hellish and had to be discarded. In the morning my daughter walked out to a stray dog that growled and snapped at her..when we tried to shoo it away, a wizened old lady (the owner, perhaps?) yelled at us. Many stray looking dogs and cats on the premises have been adopted by the old couple in a attempt to ward away thieves that jump over the fence. Scary!

The family run hotel that my parents used for years has changed management is completely different. The owner has immigrated to the US and while an old couple is lives on the premises, they are seldom around. We were shown a room that looked dusty and unkempt. Under the guise of COVID precautions the hotel was serving no food except an unappetizing vegetarian thali ridiculously priced at Rupees 1200. We ordered this and had to return it uneaten (but were still charged). We were woken up in the middle of the night by loud noises...the manager had occupied the room down the hall and had a card game..we could smell liquor, cigarette and pot. Terrible experience, to be avoided. Not safe for women and couples.

Not what it used to be - I've heard ownership has changed. I've been coming to this hotel run by a sweet Indian family for years. However it seems the ownership has changed...the receptionist told me that the owners were fighting and the name would likely be changed as well. None of this I would care about..however the rooms she then showed me were both unkempt and not ready. The first room had a foul odor an and a leaky faucet. The next room I was shown has a gentlemen (ostensibly a member of the staff) which his shoes on the couch watchin TV. The lady yelled at the "roomboy" aplologized and let me to the receiption to wait. Luckily the more upscale Jasvilas is right next door; I quikly headed there and was met by the charming proprietor Lillybell. She offred me a georgous room, 25% more expensve then meghniwas next door but well worth it.
