The family run hotel that my parents used for years has changed management is completely different. The owner has immigrated to the US and while an old couple is lives on the premises, they are seldom around. We were shown a room that looked dusty and unkempt. Under the guise of COVID precautions the hotel was serving no food except an unappetizing vegetarian thali ridiculously priced at Rupees 1200. We ordered this and had to return it uneaten (but were still charged). We were woken up in the middle of the night by loud noises...the manager had occupied the room down the hall and had a card game..we could smell liquor, cigarette and pot. Terrible experience, to be avoided. Not safe for women and couples.
Not what it used to be - I've heard ownership has changed. I've been coming to this hotel run by a sweet Indian family for years. However it seems the ownership has changed...the receptionist told me that the owners were fighting and the name would likely be changed as well. None of this I would care about..however the rooms she then showed me were both unkempt and not ready. The first room had a foul odor an and a leaky faucet. The next room I was shown has a gentlemen (ostensibly a member of the staff) which his shoes on the couch watchin TV. The lady yelled at the "roomboy" aplologized and let me to the receiption to wait. Luckily the more upscale Jasvilas is right next door; I quikly headed there and was met by the charming proprietor Lillybell. She offred me a georgous room, 25% more expensve then meghniwas next door but well worth it.…
We really enjoyed our stay at Meghniwas (third time already) with Mr. and Mrs. Singh. Very attentive service wonderful setting nice clean rooms and delicious food. Will come again as a number of friends of ours did
It was by chance that I found this property on the Net. Was looking for a good pet friendly property and ended up staying here. And no regrets whatsoever. A beautiful property with wonderful people managing it. Right from the owner Mrs Singh to her staff - Tej Singh, Sultan, Ram Bahadur, Murli and others - were wonderful hosts. Very courteous, helpful and accommodating. Beautifully done up rooms, lovely lawns and extremely well managed. Icing on the cake were the 3 beautiful furry friends - Lucky, Stuti and Bhoomi. Very well behaved and lovable dogs. They grow on you in such a short time. Would love to come back and stay again. All of us, including our pet dog had a whale of a time!
When I pulled up to the beautiful family-owned and run hotel, I was greeted by the lovely Mrs Singh. She took the time to explain to my friend and I about the major sights in and around Jaipur, and even helped book a driver. She always took the time to see how we were doing. The hotel itself is a short drive to the attractions, but secluded enough not to hear the hustle and bustle of busy Jaipur. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, but the real jewel is the backyard with a pool. It was a great experience to have breakfast by the pool. I truly recommend this place.
I had a restful stay at Hotel Meghniwas. The food and people were wonderful! Lovely clean setting with two beautiful gardens. Wonderful hospitality. Hope to visit again with my family. Bring your bathing suit as the pool is beautiful.
When I look at the photos of the hotel, I remember with real fondness. You will receive a warm welcome here from Mrs Singh. The rooms are clean, and have a true flavour of India. The staff are friendly and attendive. I hope sometime in the future I can return to Jaipur, and this is the only hotel I would consider staying at.
I was part of a textiles group and we stayed just over a week in this lovely homely hotel. The room I had was large and very comfortable. The shower was excellent with very hot water supplied by solar panels. The gardens are kept immaculate and it was wonderful to be able to have a swim at the end of the day. Mrs Singh and her staff were always available and very friendly. I loved the food and was pleasantly surprised when I was presented with a large cake for my birthday. I will definitely stay there if I visit Jaipur again.
A lovely comfortable hotel with elegant Raj style and beautiful garden and pool in a suburb of Jaipur. I visited for a week with a group on a textile tour of Rajasthan and a warm welcome was provided by Mrs Singh in person and her staff were charming and very helpful throughout our stay. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and the staff were happy to deliver our meals to the tables on the patio while we enjoyed the sunshine. Highly recommended.
The Mehgnavas is a family run hotel that is high on service and a great location in Jaipur. The food in the restaurant is excellent and can be enjoyed indoors or on the terrace next to the pool. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. We will always stay here when visiting Jaipur.
