Today's Pratap Bhawan stands on Himanshu Rathore's ancestral land and is located in Jaipur's enviable and poshest colony. Himanshu belongs to an erstwhile jageer called Nimaj and his father served in the army. He has years of experience as a naturalist and even today is affiliated closely with biggest wildlife centers like Bandhavgarh. His passion for the wild and wildlife photography is proudly presented on the walls of the homestead. While Himanshu hails from Marwar his gracious wife, Deepti belongs to Mewar. His keen interest in meeting new people and socializing were the driving force behind him starting the venture in 2010. Pratap Bhawan was built in 1980 and therefore has a fine blend of modern but traditional styles. Credit to this is duly given to Himanshu's wife, Deepti. Not only does she have a natural sense of hospitality as her family owns a Palace hotel but she is a professional interior designer to boot. Her class and taste are evident throughout the home's effortless elegance. All the 4 bedrooms of Pratap Bhawan are soothing in colors but with a burst of richness, which make them charming and very true to Rajasthani culture. All bedrooms come with large and impeccable en suite bathrooms, beds equipped with luxury spring matresses and they are air conditioned. The family's personal temple is for private use only but guests can come and view it while giving it utmost respect. The lush garden boasts of a vibrant and cozy breakfast nook. A big open terrace with its swing invites people to open up a book before enjoying dinner.Other than sightseeing across Jaipur, guests can enjoy an experience exclusive to Pratap Bhawan. As Himanshu works avidly as a freelance tour leader he is takes people on specialized and unique wildlife and photography tours. He worked for three years with a renowned wildlife safari company and as a naturalist. This ensures that tours conducted by Himanshu for his own guests are of an incomparable standard. Other than this Himanshu is also a passionate cook and would be open to providing guests with cooking lessons on Rajasthani cuisine. On special request, he can also conduct bird walks around Jaipur, arrange for ayurvedic massages and even yoga sessions at home. Deepti is also a masterful Rangoli maker and guests can learn how to create those colorful designs from her.

My mom and I traveled to India to explore the culture and enjoy safari. We booked our trip through an agency that informed us of a cooking class and dinner with a family in Jaipur, which we eagerly accepted, and I’m so grateful that we did.
Himanshu and Deepti welcomed us into their home with open arms. We first conversed over drinks in their entry room, and then proceeded to the kitchen to learn a quick, easy, and delicious recipe. The best part of the experience was sharing a meal with them and their two daughters, learning more about their story. The whole operation feels like an homage to Himanshu’s mother, the person who taught him how to cook.
I highly recommend this experience for anyone traveling to Jaipur, and I can genuinely state it was my favorite meal in India.

The hotel is well located near the two main roads, but a little inland. There was no noise. Near the railway track, but again it was not noisy, I would even say quietly, birds and other animals were heard, and from the infrastructure almost silent.
Great homemade food, breakfast included. Lunches and dinners must be ordered in advance, the menu from the manager, quite varied, has both poultry and lamb. Breakfast was mostly omelet, muesli.
To our surprise we were met by the hotel owner himself, who was very friendly and friendly. We had a Deluxe with a large bed booked, but he upgraded us to a villa. A large room with a small veranda, to which breakfast and dinners were then brought. Room is clean, separate air conditioning, fan. Big bathroom. There's TV and a separate Internet hotspot that was at a good speed.
The room was clean, the bedroom was white too. There was nothing to pick on.

My friend and I were hosted by Himanshu and his wife and staff for a cooking experience and dinner. Their home is beautiful and the whole cooking demo was professionally done. Himanshu and his wife were so open and friendly and shared their passion of cooking. They made family recipes and the dinner afterward was delicious. The chicken pickle was extraordinary and I don’t think I’ll ever get to taste something like that again in the states.

We stopped at this city homestay for lunch which was organised by our tour guide Vedant from Tiger journey. It was an amazingly beautiful lunch with authentic Rajesthani cuisine. All the food was home cooked and increadibly tasty. We even got to play with the owners four gorgeous pet dogs.

Pratap Bhawon and his wonderful family hosted my wife and me for a brief stay and home made dinner as a part of a Globus tour stop. We felt the warm welcome and enjoyed, not only the food and drinks, but the conversation and comfortable accommodations. I highly recommend your taking advantage of this family's luxury air bnb home offerings while visiting India.

We spend three days with Himanshu and his wife Deepti in their lovely homestay. The room we stayed in was comfortible, spacious and clean as well as the bathroom. The staff as well as Himanshu and his wife took great care of us and ensured that we had everything we needed. On top of that the food was decent, especially the vegeterian dinner variations. The city centre and the old town can be reached easily from the Hotel.
Thank you for a great stay in Jaipur!

We had an incredible dining experience at a home stay in Jaipur hosted by Himanshu. Himanshu, along with his warm and welcoming family, truly made our dinner memorable. As a group of 10 people, we were treated with the utmost hospitality and care.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the home-cooked meal prepared by Himanshu and his family. The food was absolutely delicious and undoubtedly the best we have ever had. Himanshu even graciously shared the recipes with us, adding a personal touch to our culinary experience.
We adored Himanshu and his family for their kindness, generosity, and genuine hospitality. Our dinner at the home stay was a true delight, and we cannot recommend it enough to anyone looking for a unique and authentic dining experience in Jaipur. Thank you, Himanshu, for an unforgettable evening!

It was a wonderful experience, we were there for 2 nights and nothing i could say was not up to the mark. We stayed in the cottage which was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. Definitely to mention the amazing kebabs offered by the wonderful host, Himanshu ji, which just melted in the mouth leaving the best of flavors. The smoked jungli ghost at dinner was just out of the world. Himanshu ji made sure we always come back to him whenever we plan for jaipur again, and one should definitely try the mutton pickles which is the in house speciality.
