'Chitra Katha - A Story Per Stay' is a boutique homestay in Jaipur that shares its boundary with the stunning Hathroi Fort. It is located on top of a small hill with Pincode 01. This makes it central and close to all attractions. It is a thoughtful home for curious, creative and compassionate travellers. Once checked-in, we sit down with every guest to know their plan, interests and available time. This is followed by a personalised Jaipur city map (hand drawn), highlights of the season and a list of you-must-try places, as the city is full of artisan chefs and vintage restaurants that can literally blow your mind. Our own rooftop restaurant serves outstanding breakfast and dinner stories - both traditional rajasthani and world cuisine. In short, Chitra Katha - A Story Per Stay lives right between the story you come with and the one you take away. Looking forward to host you.

I visited stayed here from 6th feb to 9th feb.
Stay was cool. All basic amenities provided. Electric kettle also provided upon request. Hotel owner Mr. Anshu was very helpful, also a good tour planner.
Food was nice and home like preperation. They have a nice dining area at rooftop. They promote eating lunch and dinner in dining area, though can be provided in room for elderly and id u have any problem.
Slight issue we faced about switch boards, but as we only required one charging point we managed and not complained. But i gave feedback to Anshu, he informed that they are under renovation and repair.
As we were to leave early morning on sunday to our home, upon request they prepared delicious aaloo poori and packed for our journey.
The over all staff was helpful, courteous.

The overall feel was of a homestay so we liked very much.
The chitra katha can be said as home away from home.

My wife and I were looking for a good and affordable place to stay for the entire duration during the Jaipur Literature Festival. Chitra Katha was the first hotel which impressed in the first glance and we decided to book it right away.

The place was very friendly. Staff were very courteous and the best part is our host, Anshu. He is a real delight. He was present in the hotel to receive us and he personally sees to every guest who is staying at his place. He interacts with them suggesting them to try their local delicacies in their hotel as well as hidden gems in Jaipur. He also plays the role of a cool tourist guide by suggesting all the places to visit in Jaipur according to the taste of the travellers. He interacts with them and understands their choice and provides them with the information. Apart from it, we really enjoyed the delightful and fun-filled conversations with him during our breakfast. Anshu is the perfect host you can ever want during your travel.

The food was very good. The breakfasts were very made and served. I tried different items over our stay. Even though I could not try all the items but I think for all staying there you should try their different items. If you are in a group and love eating non-veg, don't forget to try their 'Murg Mussalam'. The best part is they don't keep their meat and chicken in the frozen state. They procure it every day and thus retaining the freshness of it. I loved their tea. It was very refreshing.

About the stay, to be honest we just needed room to just come back in the night to rest and get ready in the morning and leave for the festival. But the rooms were so comfortable and the ambience provided around was so comfortable that for a moment I thought of just relaxing here instead of going out.

All in, I would surely recommend everyone to stay in this unique Story Palace and enjoy the hospitability and the view of the majestic Hathroi fort. My stay in Chitra Katha is fixed for our future travel to Jaipur.

PS- Don't forget to listen to the awesome playlist Anshu plays in the dining area. It soothes your nerves.

Oh my my!! I was expecting a heartfelt review but this is much more than that. It is overwhelming to say the least. Thank you so much from each and every soul working at Chitra Katha. We are not doing anything extravagant. We are simply following the purpose with which Chitra Katha was launched. This is what we are suppose to do for every guest who's interested in exploring Jaipur. A personalised tour plan, healthy home-style authentic rajasthani food, uninterrupted service, palatable music and above all the intent to introduce you to my city as I know it is our core motto. Every staff member is briefed likewise and I am glad we could deliver our promise. This review is a testimony and all we have in return is our best wishes and gratitude. Shall see you two soon. Cheers, luck and love.

It was a pleasure staying at this small little gentle hotel, which is located at the centre of jaipur where people reach to any points within half an hour excluding traffic. Anshu is a nice host who is dedicated and honest towards his work had recommended delighted food as per individual taste. Please go for booking with complementary breakfast. Also the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. Overall the experience was brilliant and enjoyed a lot with my wife on her birthday.

I and my friend planned a visit to Jaipur during the Jaipur Literature Festival. There was a surge of prices during this time but we manged to grab this gem of a hotel at a very reasonable price.

We were quite anxious about the hotel because the last time we were in Jaipur we felt a bit uncomfortable.

All our anxieties vanished in thin air when we saw our room and the lawn infront of it (ask them for a 2nd floor room. it has a really pretty lawn with a fountain).

The staff was absolutely awesome. Continuously making efforts to make us feel comfortable.
The best person of this hotel is Anshu, a great guy who has a great collection of Indie music which he plays during the evening and morning. You can sit in the lawn, listen to music and gaze at stars.

The food at the rooftop kitchen there is great. The butter chicken specially (for me).

The location is pretty good. It's a posh residential area with pretty houses. It also has the Hathroi fort at its backdrop. The connectivity is fine... Uber Auto or cab takes you cheaply where ever you want.

In short. This is one great hotel. If you're okay with a slightly smaller room this should be on the top of your list.

A quaint hotel nested right opposite the magnificent ruins of a fort with a gorgeous rooftop terrace and restaurent is what I'd define a perfect embodiment of a warm and cosy experience of my stay at the hotel. This coupled with mouth watering local, authentic food prepared by the in-house chef extraordinaire and the impeccable hospitality by owner and Adman/Filmmaker Anshul Sharma was an incredible experience for me and my film crew. I'd highly recommend Hotel Chitrakatha for people looking for an affordable yet a classy place for all types of stays, both business and personal. The location of the hotel, just a km away from Jaipur railway station and a 15 min drive from the airport is what makes this an ideal stay for all types of needs. Absolutely delighted and incredibly satisfied with my stay at Hotel Chitrakatha.

We read extensively of all reviews of many hotels in trip advisor. We have read all the reviews regarding Hotel chithra katha. All the negative reviews we found were mostly because of local drivers or early check in related. So I called Mr. Anshu directly and enquired about the rooms and our possible stay. We were happy with his response. We were arranged complimentary cab service from the station which was mildly surprising. We were not sure it was normal around here to provide componentry pick up but he said it's free after I was offering to pay. After we have reached he made a tough chart of where to visit and how to travel the specialities etc. He didn't try to charge a single rupee commision but booking us cars unnecessarily. He was kind enough to suggest us to go by e rickshaws wherever possible.
We had a small discomfort when my kid fell ill. Mr. Anshu was kind enough to say that In night if required he will drive us personally to hospital.

Now regarding the rooms. I have seen much better rooms and much worse. But everything is based on the price you pay. For whatever the money we paid we got full value. The rooms were what you can expect from a budget hotel. Comfortable enough.
If something is not working the staff are friendly and attend to it. When my kid vomited they cleaned and changed the sheets without any fuss.
Food: food is actually good and the roof top restaurant is an added surprise.

There are few cons like you don't get food served in room and only morning tea is available at room. To be fair enough it was clearly mentioned in the menu which was sent to us before booking.

Thanks a lot for choosing us, trusting us and taking out the time to leave behind this invaluable feedback. I feel you have congratulated us more than required for doing our basic duty as a host in Jaipur. The boy had a nasty fall while running behind pigeons at Albert Hall, could have happened to anyone (of any age). We felt so bad about asking you to vacate the rooms (as per the booking) when it was clear that you cannot pursue the Ranthambore plan anymore. I wish and hope that the boy has completely recovered and has got back to chasing birds without fear. We wish to host you again. A better and improved Chitra Katha will be eager to receive you. Cheers, luck and love.

Best thing about this hotel is the cleanliness. Rooms, washrooms, bedding, towels everything is spic and span.
I m from amongst those who are not comfortable in using other's bedding (not even at home); but here the bedsheets, blankets and towels felt so fresh.
Staff is cordial and cooperative.
Owners are (uncle and aunty) also very nice and courteous.

It gives a beautiful view of hathroi fort. They have common balconies which are spacious. There are chairs and tables. One can enjoy fresh breeze during mornings.
Not only this, this hotel is best placed location wise. Accessibility to railway station, bus stand, main markets like bapu Bazar and johari Bazar is not an issue..
In short, we got best value for money.

I had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful and cozy homestay for a weekend, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the warm and welcoming hosts to the comfortable and well-appointed rooms, everything about this homestay exceeded my expectations. The common areas were also well-designed and impeccably maintained, with beautiful artwork, plush sofas, and plenty of natural light. From the mouthwatering breakfasts to the hearty dinners, every dish was prepared with care and attention to detail.
