Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Umar, the reception/day manager was fantastic and created a two-day itinerary with the must-see sights in and around Jaipur. He then put us in touch with Yogi, who took us around in his tuk tuk and stayed with us all day while we visited those nearby forts and palaces. We also enjoyed the evening Jeep Safari which took us on a two-hour tour of the notable buildings and sites in Jaipur with the benefit of seeing the city lit up for the night. The pool was lovely and the breakfast and food was good, supported by a great team. I would usually have scored this hotel with five stars but I have deducted on point due to the fact that we were bumped to a nearby home-stay apparently for some urgent maintenance but more likely due to overbooking. This created a little disruption as we had to pack our cases etc to move between the hotel and the homestay. However, Umar and the team did their very best to minimise the inconvenience. I would come here again. Jaipur is an interesting city and very easy to get around with the tuk tuk. I would choose to stay at the Suryaa again, without any hesitation. …

Nice quiet hotel, away from the busy main road. Staff extremely helpful. Rooms clean & tidy. Food very pleasant. Shaded area for relaxing. Pool was very small, but equally welcoming. Very quaint with lots of character. Somewhere I would recommed to both solo travellers & groups. It felt very safe.

Not a bad place. We had a ground floor room - a couple of seconds and around 20 metres from the pool. The room was generally clean. The restaurant was also good too - good service and clean. We did laundry through the hotel, and it was returned to us the same day. There were a few downsides, that could be easily sorted out - and would make a decent place really good: - For some reason they'd decided to do some repairs to the bathroom while we were out - leaving it without a window or mesh when we came back (making our bathroom suscpetible to insects and animals - as well as potential thieves). I think this was more of an issue to do with the maintenance guy than the hotel. They did fix it, but it took a bit of nagging - around the pool, they like to play music in the morning. Given most of the rooms face on to the pool, it's very irritating to be woken up at 6.30am by some dreadful 70s/80s music. It's something that they could do without (it makes no difference to the food or ambiance). - front desk are not the most efficient. I asked for my bill to be prepared three times, which was irritating. Even then they messed it up, by missing out some of the items, so I had to pay two bills. …

First, I’ve been staying at this hotel since 2014 and it is traditionally my home away from home. I love the vibe of Surya Villa, the neighborhood, and being away from the old city. It’s always been a very relaxing space where I come to spend weeks at a time when in Jaipur. In my most recent trips, I did find that some problems arose in some of the older rooms. Previously they had issues with hot water due to construction or even water in general. This trip, however, the manager Oumar upgraded my room to a newer room and it was much improved. The bathroom in the new rooms are big and beautiful and the room itself was large and very comfortable. There are great new restaurants and pastry shops that opened up right next to the hotel which are amazing and should certainly be tried. The roof lounge is a fantastic place to read or watch the sun set. There are so many wonderful things going for this hotel and,yet, it is still very responsibly priced. Again, my only complaint continues to be ongoing construction. I understand that this is their slow season so construction is usually done during this time but it can be bothersome in the morning if you don’t have earplugs. That said, most people are out when they visit Jaipur and would never know this was happening during the day. I just happen to work from home and found this a tad annoying. I continue to strongly recommend Surya Villa because it is a home away from home and a beautiful oasis in a busy city. Recommendation would be to get one of the newer rooms if possible. I know I will continue coming back here and thanks to Oumar and the staff for being so helpful and attentive.…

Excellent stay. This hotel is away from the main road, so nice & quiet - but in a great location for moving around to sightseeing areas. Pool is very clean & inviting. Shaded areas are offered throughout the hotel. Bedrooms are lovely with very nice bathrooms. Towels offered. Food very nice. All staff members were exceptionally helpful & happy. All requests were happily addressed. This is a hotel suitable for all travellers. Definitely a hotel I would highly recommend to others & return to myself. Felt very safe & cared for.
