Detailed Reviews
We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Loharu house. I have visited Jaipur several times before and stayed at different heritage properties and five star hotels but the experience staying at Loharu house was far richer than previous experiences. The house is beautifully decorated full of art , local crafts and historic artifacts. We enjoyed wonderful hospitality as well as terrific conversations with our hosts the Nawab and the Begum who were both generous with their time as well as with their knowledge of the area as well as full of interesting insight about current and historic events.

This very large comfortable house, with a great history was our home for 3 nights. We enjoyed a meal with the family on one night which was a great chance to learn about the local area. Another night we ate at a recommended restaurant which was an easy 20 min walk. Our room was large so very comfortable to relax in or retreat to one of the balconys to enjoy the peaceful environment. The family dog was also friendly.

One has to be very lucky to find - a home - away from home.
And that’s exactly what Loharu House means to me. Luckily for me, I have to frequently travel to Jaipur. If that wasn’t the case, I would be making random excuses to go stay at Loharu House, one way or the other!
The reviews I have read on this page do full justice to the history, charm, old world hospitality and sheer grace that one feels embraced by as soon as one enters the property. Delightful conversations with the family over yummy meals and green tea, warm and thoughtful service, visual delights at every corner and every room decorated so uniquely, big green lawns, peacocks, birds chirping, blue skies – honestly, what more of an oasis can one ask for in the centre of a busy city?
Highly recommended as a warm, charming place to stay in!

My wife and I, along with another couple of friends, stayed here for three nights while attending a wedding and seeing sights in Jaipur. It was a refreshing departure from the typical hotel experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and best of all - the place retains the atmosphere of an old nawabi house. Mr. Siraj the manager, along with the rest of the staff, are courteous and hospitable - and it is like staying in a home where loyal family retainers are committed to serving you. The building is set in a large plot in a quiet area of the city - in Civil Lines. The food is like home cooked - with a choice of home-made Rajasthani pickles with dinner and home-made preserves with breakfast. If you do not have anything to do (like I did one morning) and just wish to spend time relaxing and reading, this provided the right atmosphere - there are front verandahs on both ground and first floors with comfortable sofas. The only drawbacks are (1) most of the rooms are on the upper floor and there is no lift; (2) they do not have a bar license so do not serve alcohol - which was not an issue for us; and (3) they do not accept credit cards, though they did accept a cheque. When we visit Jaipur again we intend to stay at Loharu House.

We stayed at the Loharu House in August 2014. It was a family trip, our first time to Jaipur. Staying at numerous 5 star hotels all over India during our tour from the US, this experience was definitely memorable. We found the staff and particularly the owner to be very warm, welcoming and helpful. We appreciated the fact we could show our children a piece of India's history. They could see the way Nawab's lived and a part of India's heritage which has now long passed. If you are expecting a traditional hotel experience, this may not be the right fit. For us, it was a cultural experience that we all thoroughly enjoyed. If our travels ever take us back to Jaipur, we would again choose the Loharu House.

The Jaipur Hotel scene has improved greatly in recent years with a number of princely and other havelis having been renovated impressively and reincarnated to accommodate visitors to the city. None are cheap. And not all are very good. Loharu House is something different altogether - an aristocratic home where the owners take in paying guests. Their elegant home, adjacent to that of the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, is located at the heart of the city's "civil lines":, a leafy district of enviable estates very close to the town center. The house, and its charming garden, are most welcoming and the staff exceptionally attentive. Lunch and dinner are served, and the dinners are famed among India's cognoscenti both for the exceptional food and excellent conversation. During the Jaipur Literary Festival, the house is packed with authors and others connected with the event, at other times, by prominent Indians and fortunate foreigners able to secure a reservation. If you prefer to keep yourself to yourself, you could, but that would miss the point of the trouble the Begum and her team make to bring their guests together. During my recent visit, I learned a lot about aspects of India (which I already know somewhat for having lived there several years) from several others staying there when I did. My large bedroom was very comfortable, with a bathroom of its own, heating which took the edge off the winter nights, and everything else I might have wished for. And the cost was nearly embarrassingly modest ( about $ 80, including dinner and breakfast). The best reason to choose Loharu House is the exceptional quality and warmth of the welcome that would await you from your hosts. But there are lots of other good reasons as well. For me, an altogether exceptional experience.

Five of us stayed here on our way to Ranthambore - its a bit out of the centre being in civil lines but the gardens and food are just wonderful. The welcome was warm, one felt safe and the decor of the living room was a surprise - tigers abound! The rooms were clean and homly, some accessed from the garden, others in the main building - excellent food, one to recommend (and I have done since to friends).

We were there for two nights with family , 8 rooms over the weekend .
while booking we were looking at something which would be swanky yet homely . As we were done with five stars . needless to stay there was a lot of apprehension as to how the place would turn out to be ...believe me the moment we stepped in which was late evening and it was dark around , we still loved it instantly . Waking up in the morning among-st well manicured gardens , lush tress , peacocks and birds chirping away was another soul touching experience . It didn't seem like we were in the heart of the city ...it seemed we were in a quaint resort full of life .
The royal family( owners ) was warm , respect all the way for them .
The staff pleasant , never a NO for anything . we had a bonfire for us both evenings , endless cups of tea in those gorgeous lawns under the sun , simple yet warm rooms ...made it for a great family trip . blessings and love team Loharu ! stay shining
