Ankush and Datta are doing great job in ensuring DAILY needs (due to lockdown) are taken care and sanitize / clean the rooms effectively.
Lobby is beautiful with a huge fish tank and a pond with artificial di is floating.
Check in was smooth and hostess explained the facilities in the room.
Bed was huge and comfortable. Wash room had a tub and shower area separate with fantastic toiletries.
House keeping was excellent.
Complementary fruit available in the room on request.
WiFi speed was good
Location is ultimate right next to the domestic terminal
Room service was prompt and good. Ordered chicken hakka noodles which were accompanied by complementary palette cleanser, the traditional paan.
Took a packed breakfast which was on time and neatly packed as intimated.
A wonderful wonderful experience and would love to stay again
If there was one hotel to choose from to be quarantined in, this is the one! The rooms are spacious and the bed is really comfortable. Unlike a lot of hotels around the world, the Taj has an HVAC system that can get the room really nice and cold for sleeping.
Although the gym had to be closed due to the virus, the restaurant remained open. All the food there is excellent, but I have to specifically mention the breakfast buffet. This is definitely worth the trip down to the restaurant. The food was all delicious and the staff was top notch. If you're lucky enough to have Sultan Gavandi as your server, you're in for a treat. It felt like I was dining in a Michelin starred restaurant with how attentive he was. When I asked for a glass of juice, instead of going to the urn of juice, Sultan disappeared to the kitchen and came out with a tall glass of freshly-squeezed juice! Also, when you're there make sure to get Chef Kushal Singh to make you his famous "Rapichik Dosa." It is absolutely delicious and is a wonderful taste of the spices of this region of India.
The staff were very friendly and efficient.
My bedroom was very large, immaculately clean and elegant.
The bathroom with large walk in shower and bath with tv to watch if you felt like it was a joy.
The quality of the bed linen was excellent, and very high.
The pillows were very comfortable.
It is an enormous hotel, with big lobby and a fish tank with tropical fish swimming about.
Breakfast is extensive and good in the huge dining room downstairs.
The hotel is beautifully sound proofed, and my view of the planes on the runway was dramatic but I could not hear a thing and had a very good, rest.
There are all the facilities available of a very large hotel.
The reservation process was tedious and had to haggle with the reservation team, especially when they were not matching to the rates as offered on the website. Had to write 15 emails back and forth to allow them to accept our requests. Since it was our wedding night, I wanted it to be special. We took the staycation package which included stay, one major meal and breakfast.
Check in process is quite seamless and the front desk manager Pragna was kind enough to accept all our requests. She also upgraded our room and allowed us for late checkout till 3.00 PM the next day. The room was spacious and overlooking the runway.
We were impressed with the size of the entire room. The bathroom is also quite spacious, with a big bathtub and separate section for shower and wc.
For dinner, we had a set menu according to our staycation package. At the time of check-in we were suggested that you could ask anything from the menu as the buffet dinner is not operational. Upon ordering the dinner items, the room service guys were not sure what we could order. Due to our dietary restrictions ( Jain cuisine) we called for a few dishes. The in-room dining guys had to take approvals which took over an hour till we finally got our dinner.
The breakfast spread was very nice and so was the taste and quality of food. We were impressed by the service during the breakfast time.
Other than the initial reservation hiccups and disappointment at dinner we enjoyed our overall stay at Taj santacruz and will come back again.
We rate our experince 4.5/5.
1. Around 430 pm my kid got really hungry and he specifically wanted to eat a chicken schezwan rice. I called in room dining and was told that this 'simple preparation would be charged a premium since it wasn't in the menu. Inspite of knowing i was ordering a really small portion for my kid.
Then they went on to mention that since it's almost 5pm, should they include it as a part of the complimentary lunch or dinner.
By now, I was irritated enough and asked them to charge me the amount as it is
Along with this, I also asked for an extra hot and strong cappuccino. Perhaps a CCD in the neighborhood, would do a better job in understanding this simple instruction. The cappuccino was not even normal hot and forget being strong. Mood spoiler again!!
2. Asked guest services to send someone for cleaning the bath area. Since no one showed up for 20 minutes, and we wanted to nap, I called bk and asked them not to send anyone right now and I shall call bk. I put the room on PRIVACY. Inspite of which the door bell rings ten minutes later, like really!! On asking if he could see if the room is on privacy, I get a reply saying that ma'am I was asked to come! Is this the kind of training the staff have been given here??
I have 2 full days more to go but at the night of Diwali, I'm already quite disappointed. Least expected.
The food was superb. I love Parsi cuisine and it was absolutely authentic with subtle flavours. Stand out was Kheema relished with pav, followed by chicken 'palaaav' :) along with masala 'dar'. Just fantastic! Ending with divine lagan nu 'custard'.
I will strongly recommend foodies to go for hygenically prepared, packed and delivered delicious Taj meals.
Again, thanks Vinod and your team at Taj.
Cheers...
Hotel location is very good with well equipped, larger than usual sized rooms; especially the runway facing rooms having very good view.
Top of all with our experience at the Hotel, comes with all the staff; who we found to be very helpful, courteous and friendly. Literally, everyone from the chefs, Johny, Amol, Kamlesh who, at times, cooked special dishes for us apart from the vast buffet menu they had. Yogesh, Meenakshi, Neha, Bhakti, Sultan, Gufran were always there to help us on the Floor.
All in all, we had a very good experience and taking good memories with us. We will surely
be visiting the Hotel again when in Mumbai.
Ramnik and Aruna Chudasama (March 2021)
The breakfast was a large spread. Full marks for Ambiance, hospitality and Hygiene.
Mr Johnny Dabre being incharge of breakfast personally meets the guests with smiling face, professional mannerism & recommends dishes.
Overall awesome experience! Will love to visit again with family!
