I had a pleasant stay at the YWCA last week. The Reception staff is very friendly and also advised about the serving of meals in the room. Breakfast is very elaborate. It is sometimes too much and it would be helpful if the room service could suggest the quantities of each serving. For breakfast the choice of eggs is either boiled or omelettes, alternately. The vegetarian breakfast is is tasty and homely. Dinner is more than adequate and sometimes the vegetarian items are a lot more tasty. Their 'dahi' curry and 'dal' are delicious.
The single rooms are rather small with not much space to move around. The rooms are very clean. I would suggest the rooms ending in 7. 307 is an excellent choice.
I would certainly continue to stay at the YWCA International Guest House at the current rates of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 3000 for single and double rooms, respectively.

YWCA gives an excellent and professional service to guests who are visiting Bombay. It runs very well and all staff members are courteous kind and efficient. Including breakfast and dinner the price is superb for its prime location near all the interesting parts of Colaba and also an easy walk to Churchgate and Marine Drive. Front desk is welcoming and kind. Especially Priyanka and Cajetan. Helpful and an easy check in.

Extremely well located. Well trained and caring staff. Food is well served eventhough a bit spicy for western' patterns ( I would suggest a self-service in order to get the right individual quantity of food). Room was clean and well equiped with wardrobe, tv, desk. Very well organized

Just back after a very pleasant 3-day break in Mumbai staying at the YWCA International Guest House. Nice 4th floor room overlooking the Institute of Science and CJ Hall, with twin beds and plenty of cupboard space. Also an effective air conditioner, two fans, a flat screen TV and a large bathroom. In addition to all this, a good breakfast and dinner were included. What's more, the whole place was extremely clean at all times.

There was some traffic noise during the daytime and evenings (Madame Cama Road can be busy!) but shutting the balcony door and window reduced this a great deal. Apart from that, it would have been nice to have two comfortable chairs to sit in -- instead of just an upright chair near the desk.

The staff are most helpful.

Found this place after our original hotel messed up our arrival dates.
Good location near the Art Gallery (2 mins walk) and (8 mins) walk to the Gateway of India.

We were lucky to find a room with 3 single beds, room 308 is a large room. AC, nice bathroom and away from the main road. There's a fan cooled lift available to all floors.
Onsite Internet access, free WiFi in hotel room. TV room and helpful staff.
We were delighted when we found this place in such a good location and for a good price (£54) for 3 of us per night.
Even more happy when breakfast, evening meal was included !

Breakfast was Porridge one morning, toast, coffee, eggs done to your liking, chicken Burgers, Dal Fry, rice and fruit juices. Evening meals were veg, chicken curry, soup and roll to start etc - and dessert !
Would recommend. No frills, but clean, safe and value for money !

I was not able to book a room in advance due to their cumbersome reservation process. So I had to pick a more expensive hotel for my first night in Mumbai. But immediately upon my arrival, I went to the YWCA to book and prepay a room for the following nights.

Apart for this, everything was perfect. The room is basic but very functional and very clean. The very reasonable price includes many extras: breakfast, dinner, wifi, newspaper.

The location is excellent. The YWCA is highly recommended for solo travelers who are not looking for a luxury place.

I stayed in YWCA from February to March 2015.
It was my third visit in Bombay and I always booked this place.

I have already posted a review upon my previous stay in 2013, but I would love to add that I appreciated a lot all staff (always the same!) --- attentive, smiley, warm and discrete --- this made me very comfortable.

I met repeter guests like me in the dining room , we shared same positive opinion.

Not only being in covenient location (places of interest are in walking distance), but also it is surrounded by beautiful old colonial buildings.

You even can admire them from your room's balcony.
You can find nowhere else which can offer such a feeling that you are in the centre of city's most historical area.

The day I checked out, I felt sad as if I left my home.
Great thanks to all YWCA team !

As far as I am aware you cannot book a stay online. The YWCA is a Christian hostel with all the old fashioned charm of India. You can get an air conditioned double en suite room for approx 4000 rupees which includes a 30 day membership for 50 rupees. (abou 37 euros in all)The room is old fashioned and clean and does the job for me as a budget traveller!! we stayed there for 2 days. prices include dinner and breakfast which is mainly Indian but the menu always has something that a westerner can fill up on if they're not keen on the menu like bread, ice cream, soup!! For me, this place is a great option for mumbai where it's very difficult to find cheap and clean and safe places to stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a free and very secure luggage room where you can leave your stuff if you depart later. You get complimentary newspapers delivered to your door every monring. and also the room is cleaned daily. The only downside was that I found a hair in in one of my evening meals....

known about YWCA from TripAdvisor reviews and had such a great stay there , the place is located in the heart of mumbai almost near to every place you want to see in Mumbai (Colaba Causeway,Marine Drive, Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum,Jehangir Art Gallery) which is a great advantage . stuff are very helpful all over the place from room service " Mr. Gopinath" :) to dining room and of course all the front desk MR (Anand , Jhony , Ebnezer) thanks for every thing :) .
Rooms are so clean so calm , our room "402" had a nice view , food also was a good experience with varied options .
i would definitely recommend YWCA for an affordable and convenient stay in Mumbai and looking forward to my next visit :D
