This place literally feels like a second home to me! As a woman, I felt totally safe staying there. It’s clean and well taken of, and everyone from the management to the service staff are very warm, professional, competent and trustworthy!! There’s an intrinsic honesty and clear lovely vibe to this place!! The location is possible the best in India- it’s next to Regal Circle, Colaba Causeway and Kalaghoda, bang opposite the National Gallery of Modern Art, close to the Gateway of India, the Taj Palace and the marina next to it, and a stone’s throw from Nariman Point, Marine Drive and Fort! The staff feel like family to me, and they are whole hearted and helpful, - consistently! This place is really well run, and was.. even during the tougher months of the pandemic!! This is totally a value-for-money option, and many of the rooms have truly beautiful leafy views! Can’t recommend them enough!…
If you are looking for an expensive stay with no flexibility, bad food & yes please note - there is no such thing as free breakfast. They charge 3300/- per day - which is an atrocious amount for someone looking for a long stay option, rather stay in some hotel with better services.
YWCA INTERNATIONAL CENTRE IN SOUTH MUMBAI: Is the only guest house in which I’ll like to stay in, whilst I am in Mumbai. I am born & bought up in South Mumbai, so this feels like my home now because of the team led by Vimal Prabu. Most of his team members are good. But Cajetan Fernandes & Nitin Pawar, provide excellent services & these two have been consistently doing that since my first visit in December 2019
I had a pleasant stay at the YWCA last week. The Reception staff is very friendly and also advised about the serving of meals in the room. Breakfast is very elaborate. It is sometimes too much and it would be helpful if the room service could suggest the quantities of each serving. For breakfast the choice of eggs is either boiled or omelettes, alternately. The vegetarian breakfast is is tasty and homely. Dinner is more than adequate and sometimes the vegetarian items are a lot more tasty. Their 'dahi' curry and 'dal' are delicious. The single rooms are rather small with not much space to move around. The rooms are very clean. I would suggest the rooms ending in 7. 307 is an excellent choice. I would certainly continue to stay at the YWCA International Guest House at the current rates of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 3000 for single and double rooms, respectively.…
Stayed there for 7 nights. It was fantastic. The rooms are clean. the staff is very courteous, patient and went out of their way to be helpful. Clean sheets and towels everyday. great wi-fi. Breakfast and dinner is included and the food was warm and delicious. I will definitely stay here again. Thanks you to all the staff for making my stay wonderful.
Stayed 5 nights - couldn't have wanted a more central spot! Within walking distance to many iconic sights, shopping, restaurants & cafes. My husband & I booked a Premium room - 2 single beds with an ensuite, fan, A/C. Spotlessly clean. Towels & sheets changed everyday. 24/7 room service was a boon - I am an early riser so I would order a pot of hot water & 2 cups for our morning tea/coffee (we had our own coffee & teabags). Breakfast & dinner are included in the tariff. Indian & western at breakfast - there was a different Indian breakfast for the duration of our stay! We had dinner there once - offering was vegetarian with 1 non-veg dish. The staff were absolutely wonderful. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.
We were a group of 18 that stayed for 13 days at the Y. Rooms are clean, with fresh linens and towels every day. All the staff were extremly friendly and helpful. The food is fresh, clean and delicious. Cannot say enough about the location. You step out to the happening part on Mumbai and yet your accomodation is safe and quiet. Very good WiFi on all floors and rooms. Highly recommend this place.
We had booked two rooms in this hotel. The staff is very courteous and polite. But the building needs a lot of maintainence. The rooms are dusty, the beds creaky and the musty smell permeates the rooms.
I stayed here for 6 days from Oct . 2 to Oct. 8. As a solo female traveler I found this place safe warm and inviting. I arrived t 3:00 am in the morning. The taxi driver had gotten lost. I had an airport transfer but by the time I made it through customs he was nowhere to be found. I cant blame him though. 3 hours in Customs?? That is a different review though.when I got there the guard called the office and a bellman came out and got my bags and the desk told me after I registered we could do all the paperwork tomorrow. I must have looked exhausted and I was. They brought me a complimentary bottle of water and showed me how the room "works" . The next morning ,I missed breakfast , I slept too late but the front desk suggested some places nearby where I could get a western breakfast if I chose to. They offered to get me a taxi but I already had a tour guide to pick me up. I had the cutest small simple room with a small balcony that looked out onto the street. I really enjoyed that because I was on American time and I would wake up at ungodly hours. The room stewards were amazing. They all called me Madam even though I insisted they call me Candie. Ha ha . They checked every morning after breakfast for dirty laundry and to make sure I had a cold bottle of water for my days activities. My room was always spotless and when I would turn in my room key at the beginning of each day when I left for the day the front desk they always had a smile on their face and asked if there was anything they could do for me.The guard at the gate would even arrange the taxis for me so I wouldn't pay more than was fair. Sachin was my favorite room steward. Though all of them were very nice and all had a smile on their faces 24/7. Would I go back there ?? Oh, yes. It's an inexpensive place to stay where they always treat you like family. Who could ask for more?…
Located close to Mumbai Central Railway Station it provides easy access to the main attractions in Mumbai. The staff were excellent and efficient. Room was clean, functional and had all you need to relax. We opted for an AC room, but believe non-AC would be good as well. Breakfast and dinner was included in the tariff. Breakfast was basic but adequate with south indian options, as well as western style options. The dinners were buffet and excellent. We requested sandwiches to take away (rather than having breakfast on our last day) and these were provided without fuss. They also provide a morning tea service at 6.30 am! Just tell them you want some. This hotel is our go to hotel whenever we are in Mumbai. Highly recommended.
