This hotel is under refurb however that should never effect the general hygeine or tidyness of rooms. When we drove up I was shocked , the younger reception staff seemed dis interested and it had a musty dejected feel to the whole place , Furniture and fittings were old and unclean. Our room had all the curtains drawn when we pulled them back we realised why the outside area at the back of the hotel looked like a bomb site , the small juliet balconeys were covered in debris dust and pigeon droppings and seemed unstable , the doors and windows did not shut properly and there was such a bad damp musty smell i purchased air freshners from the nearby chemist shop which didnt help much. There were bare wires ,musty wardrobes adisgusting filthy fridge , plaster falling off walls…

Response from WestEndHotel1948, General Manager at West End Hotel
Responded 9 Nov 2017
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking time out to review West End. You were part of wedding group of 100 people occupying 40 rooms. It was a British wedding from 20th October 2017 to 29th October 2017 chosen to be held in Mumbai than in any other part of the world. So it was a very prestigious booking for our hotel which is a heritage & economy hotel. The couple Mr. Daniel & Ms. Kirsty were very excited & so were all of us at the West End to give all the guests our very best services. We tried our best but we are very sorry that we did not meet your expectation. Perhaps, it is due to renovation work which caused dust & noise. At the time of booking we had informed that the renovation is going on .Because of renovation work for the security reasons the Balcony were barricaded therefore couldn’t be used. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to you. Your hosts had stayed here on 2 previous occasions & on the strength of those 2 comfortable visits they booked with us. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to you & we thank you for your patience & understanding. Please stay with us in the future in our new hotel which will have high standard of hygiene, cleanliness & maintenance. We hope you will give us another chance to serve you in the future & thank you for appreciating our staff & location. Yours Faithfully, Arjun Ramani General Manager West End Hotel, Mumbai

The best gourmet restaurant in town. It serves all types of food and is much cheaper than other restaurants. Most foreigners prefer this restaurant as the hotel has its own ambience and privacy. Good place for family, friends and couples who wish to enjoy their lunch or dinner. The welcome that you receive is just like a maharajah type.

The room was clean and the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. I was traveling alone with my son for an IPL match and had to get back late to the hotel. They made sure we were safe when we got back and had some snacks for us too! Location is a huge positive

On 24th April as my mother was unwell, on emergency we had to admit her to Bombay Hospital. As she was in ICU & there was no place to stay for patients relative in hospital, I checked into Hotel West End, which is just next door. I end up staying there for 2 weeks & only returned home on 6th May once my mother recovers completely & was discharged from Bombay Hospital. West End is located "just" for Bombay Hospital, so incase of any unfortunate situation where once' close one is admired in Bombay Hospital, this is THE place to stay. Location is also very good for those who want to visit Mumbai to see cricket match or have work in south Mumbai as Wankhede Stadium is just a stone throw away. And so is the marine drive, metro cinema, Flora fountain etc. The staff is really…

On arrival this hotel seemed quite grand as the gentleman who was on duty to greet us outside the hotel had all the regalia on and looked very impressive. But inside this good impression wasn't reflected, although the hotel was undergoing renovation. The reception looked tired and unstylish. We were taken to our room by the lift operator. The room was spacious but dated and needed a refurb. But it was clean. We did not use the restaurant however we did go in the bar and had a pleasant surprise. The service was wonderful and when we ordered drinks we were given a load of snacks too which were constantly refilled. This was more like a five star bar, cosy with friendly clientele. Hopefully the rest of the hotel will be upgraded and more stylish when the renovations are complete.

I stayed here after booking through Oyo rooms. I think they have separate offers for Oyo as my room had no coffee maker/ Dental kit (Which is mentioned in hotel website). Hotel has an old look but is reasonably clean. TV was positioned at right angle to the bed and this meant you had to lie down across the bed to watch it. Location is great and the breakfast was above average.

Centrally located in the heart of south Mumbai the West End Hotel is well known for its service and food. The staff is very good & well trained. The interiors are not lavish but the service makes it up for all.

A historic and charming hotel in a bustling, central location of Mumbai. The service was very good, as was the food at the on-site restaurant. The rooms have ample space and are clean. The building has lots of character, which means it is older and lacks a lot of the contemporary touches of a luxury hotel, including fast, reliable wifi. But that's not the fault of the hotel, because it knows what it is. If you want the old city feel with close proximity to the pulse of Mumbai, don't hesitate to book here.
